Danvers is very close to Salem and the accommodations at Sonesta were fantastic. We were so close we decided to Uber/Lift back and forth to the hotel. We were right next door to a shopping center/Mall/restaurants. We definitely would recommend staying in Danvers.

A great jumping off point is you are a history buff.

A great jumping off point is you are a history buff. Danvers was the historic Salem Village in the 16th, early 17th century, They changed the name when township was granted and to try to get away from the bad press of the witchcraft events.

Don’t stay at this hotel. Do not waste your money.

Don’t stay at this hotel. Do not waste your money. Sleep in your car or anywhere else. Horrific experience. Broken safety locks, wires hanging out of the walls, bugs in the room, hair in the tub,. There is no way the room was cleaned between occupants. Spent $150 at Walmart to buy sheets and towels the cause the hotel was so unbelievably dirty.

    Such a lovely little place!

Such a lovely little place! Close to everything we wanted to do, but also far enough away that it wasn’t loud or too busy. The historic homes and buildings around are to die for! My husband and I are actually talking about moving up there in the not-too-distant future :-)

Convenient location of the hotel. Close to Boston and Salem. Very large car park around the hotel. Friendly staff. Clean room with comfortable bed and good pillows. There are many shops and cafes in front of the hotel across the road. Beautiful well-groomed territory of the hotel. Thanks to the staff and owners for a great hotel.

But I do want to thank again the staff at the DoubleTree/Danvers for their customer service and generosity toward not only myself but my son and daughter-in-law and all the family and friends that attended their wedding weekend and stayed in Danvers!! Love that the hotel went all out for Halloween with their decorations. The lobby, parking, and our floor had fun decor. I also found the staff to be very friendly and easy to chat with. They lent me an umbrella for the day.
