Self-Catering Accommodations in Nikko

It felt like a home, very warm and inviting

The owner is absolutely lovely, if you have any questions or requests she is always prepared to see what see can do for you. The facilities exceeded my expectations, and the atmosphere of the house was warm so it almost felt like coming home after a day of sightseeing. I visited during the low season, so the house was very quiet, but regardless had a comfortable stay and still met some other travelers.

We booked a private room, it was a great find. The hostel had everything we needed, the room and bed were spacious. .

Open spaces Super clean and well arranged Sauna and massage chair are great benefit The kitchen had everything needed to cook great meals

It is so spacious and clean with a lot of modern touches such as the heated floor and TV projection in the bedroom. It’s a full apartment!Even pet friendly with a bed and bowls!

We were in the private room, which was very nicely furnished and had everything you need. It had functional lamps with different light settings, a wide wardrobe with space for luggages, and multiple plugs for charging devices. The beds were SO comfy and the duvet was so fluffy it felt like being in a cloud. The guesthouse had everything you need, in the kitchen there is equipment to cook and the owner has thought about every small detail about what you may possibly need! The shared toilet and showers were very clean. Location wise it is only 1 stop away from the main Nikko center, so in 10 min you arrive to Tobu Nikko station from where you can start exploring the UNESCO site or take busses to natural excursions. I would totally recommend!

nice place and good facilities

A little home away from home, had everything for modern comfort plus onsen bathtub and sauna.

Makoto-san was an excellent host. In addition to Makoto-san, I got to meet his helper who was just passing through for a Christmas work party,, Nohala-san, who usually helps in busy season. I had a fabulous time with these 2. I really enjoyed their company. Classic Japanese hospitality. Makoto-san has a great deal on a little car tour of the area and it made the whole stay perfect. Make sure to do it. He took me to several waterfalls and showed me some of the must see things. He is a helpful, kind host. Because I stayed in late December I mostly had the place to myself. It was great. It was cold but his kerosene heaters were great and kept the temp nice in the room. I would like to visit Makoto-San's air b n b again some time. I think if you like the guest house vibe and enjoy interacting with hosts or guests, this could be the right guesthouse for you because it has a cozy, close quarters feel that allows you to enjoy together. I can imagine that in summer or fall this air b n b will be booked in advance and unavailable if you do not plan well in advance.

The room was very clean and beautiful. I could enjoy a great view from both the balcony and the bathroom. The location was also very convenient. There are many restaurants near the hotel, and it only takes about 10 minutes to walk to Nikko Toshogu Shrine. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

You have the whole house for yourself. Easy check-in although as a foreigner you need to send the passport pictures and information including address.

Comfortable stay for all of my family, kitchen access, our young boys LOVED the children’s area.

Everything. The location, the comfy bed, the breakfast and the owner himself.

The property is an architectural gem, very clean and comfortable and close to a bus stop and the Toshogu shrine. The owner was very helpful with our requests.

Very clean cozy house .. instruction from the host was very clear . Was an amaing stay . Thank you
