Obertraun is an amazing base if you want to visit Hallstatt. This property, as a matter of fact, is in a very good location. We arrived to Obertraun by train, and the property is only a few steps away from Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen Bahnhof. It is also just a few steps away from a bus stop (Obertraun Abzw Bahnhof Dachsteinhöhlen, near the church). From the bus stop, it is only a 6 minute journey on the bus to get to the main bus stop for Hallstatt tourists (Hallstatt Lahn). From someone that has already visited Hallstatt before, I would actually recommend people to stay here since you can get to Hallstatt very early and beat the crowds that come from elsewhere as part of daytrips from Salzburg, Vienna etc (and accomodation in Hallstatt tends to be more expensive) The hospitality we received from Andrea was also top notch. We had a lot of luggage, but Andrea was very kind to let us store it there for no charge. She was kind and very responsive whenever we had any questions. We were also arriving late to Obertraun, but Andrea kindly arranged for self pickup of the keys, which was straightforward. Obertraun in itself is also a nice place to wander about and enjoy the beauty of Austrian nature. If you decide to to the skywalk while in Hallstatt, you can see Obertraun in the distance, surrounded by beautiful mountains :)

Very nice, very clean small appartment in beautiful location with amazing scenery. The host was very helpful with information we asked him. Only stayed for one night due to travel plans, but will come back for sure.

The property is ideal if you have car, otherwise you will take the boat from the property to Hallstat which is also part of the adventure of experiencing the lake, In our case, I rented a car from Vienna, Austria. From the property is just like around 10mins driving coast of the lake to Hallstat, enough parking space which in our case is we paid 12euro for parking which is good for two days in Obertraun area only. Clean and quite place, cozy, breakfast which is 15euro per head is worth it. I will definitely comeback on the same accommodation if there is a chance..wifi is strong by the way.

The town Obertraun is just a magic wonderful location near the lake and the bus takes you to Hallstatt or you can also bike or walk there. The room is modern and nice small but enough for one person. The breakfast was amazing big variety overall I reallyenjoyed. I recommend to visit. The stuff at the reception is really friendly and nice. Everything was perfect.

This hut is privately run by a family from Nepal. Our stay there felt so very peaceful, and the food was lovely. The location is absolutely beautiful. Really enjoyed being there. We hiked down to Hallstatt from there, and the trail was very well maintained and offered amazing views.
