This is a charming hotel, extremely relaxing and definitely with a character. Our room (26) was one of the best rooms we stayed in. However, keep in mind, there was no shower, just a jacuzzi with a pullout handle. It didn’t bother us. Hotel staff was very friendly. It was nice chatting to young gentlemen at breakfast specifically. Location is perfect. 10 minutes walk to the beach, but if you need beach umbrellas and chairs, you need to either drive for 7 minutes or take hotel’s free shuttle. Keep in mind that there is a pick up schedule to go back to the hotel, you can’t just leave any time you want.
There was one minor thing that bothered us. The breakfast started at 8 am, which is kinda late for us and for the industry standard, but, hey, it’s Puglia, I haven’t met a single tourist who spoke language other than Italian.
It was definitely a 5 star experience and we will be recommending Masseria Donnaloia to our friends.
Cala Corvino is just 656 feet from the coast and its beautiful beaches. It features a swimming pool, tennis court, and air-conditioned rooms. It offers a gourmet restaurant and is set in its garden.

We are happy that we avoided Bari and instead chose wonderful Monopoli as home base for day-trips across the region. While Monopoli and the cities in general are clean and tidy, there is one general issue for the region: Garbage. It's everywhere. Plastic, glass, you name it, is all littered along roadsides and even on the coastal pathways. The magnitude is staggering and it's such a shame.

I'm very glad I chose Monopoli over Polignano a Mare as a base for our trip in Puglia. Taste is, of course, subjective, but I think Monopoli is the nicest coastal town around Bari, it has a fairly big old town with a lot of quaint streets to explore, plenty of restaurants and even a good stretch of rocky, cliff-y coastline you can actually walk on, peppered with a few small beaches. I imagine it gets just as busy in summer but in April it was less crowded than Polignano and overall feels like there's more space. It's also very well connected, ~ 20 min from Ostuni, ~ 5 min from Polignano, ~1h10 from Lecce, ~30 min from Bari all on the main trainline we used everyday.

A perfect place to spend your vacation regardless the time of the year. Monopoli is very well connected with other tourist destination such Alberobello (by bus, near the train station) , Polignano a Mare (train), Matera ( by train, make sure to change the train at Altamura) and other locations.

Monopoli is a very clean and safe place where you feel comfortable exploring both at day and at night. The historic areas are perfect for pedestrians. We really enjoyed walking the pathways along the Adriatic Sea with historic castles and fortresses, the docks with fishermen returning with their catch, and the beautiful waterfront views.

It is a very nice place with lots of beautiful food, streets and people.
Before you visit Monopoli, I recommend that you get to know the history of Puglia and it's towns. The history is very interesting and helps to understand why this region looks the way it does.
Great location in Piazza Garibaldi - centro storico. Just walk down the (many) steps from the apartment and you are right in the center of the piazza with bars, cafes, bakery and restaurants surrounding you. Large apartment with a rooftop terrace to enjoy aperitivo and great views over Monopoli. The steep and many stairs may not be for everyone (no elevator) but we enjoyed the exercise several times daily! We also enjoyed the Moka pot for coffee in the morning. Convenient street parking (free on and after Oct 1) 2 blocks away.
The accommodation was as described. Clean, well equipped and very original. The cleaner came every day and clean the room well. The breakfast was much better than usual - salam, cheese, pastry, cakes, fruit, yougurt, coffee, tea, milk and cereals etc. The best thing about this accommodation are: 1. the host - very helpful and always smiling; 2. location - it is located in a quiet area, but near from the center and the main sights. Monopoli became our favourite place. Defenitely would come back. Highly recommend :)
We liked everything about it: the entire design and attention to details, the very engaging and nice host, who waited for us with a few things in the fridge, and explained whatever piece of information we needed + (and this is a huge plus) its location: near a market, a pharmacy, city centre & old town + 10 mins on foot to a cute sandy beach.
Monopoli has a really beautiful cathedral, and was overall a chic town to explore and discover a little bit of Puglia!
The apartment is AMAZING! everything is brand new and very well equipped. Mauro is a great host, he came to meet us for the check in and was very helpful and communicative during our stay. The location is PERFECT! Right on the two best beaches in Monopoli, close to the city center and while travelling with a car, it was the great with parking on the street and easy exit from Monopoli to travel around Puglia. Defiantly will return while in Puglia!
The location of this property is right in the heart of Old Town Monopoli! You can walk right out of the hotel and everything is within a 5 minute walk. The room was very modern with updated appliances. As far the staff, Pietro, the hotel manager, went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. He even upgraded us to a better room because it was vacant for the days we were staying there! First class service through and through.
we loved everything! the location is perfect for checking out Monopoli, Alberobello and Polignano a Mare, yet being able to relax away from the touristy areas. Paolo and his sisters are the best hosts! they have great restaurant recommendations and are there to help however you need. Our room was comfortable and spacious and the view is incredible at sunset. We highly recommend staying here :)
The best accomodation of our trip in Puglia. Apartment very spacious. Beds were of great quality (much better than most places in Italy), the bathroom was spotless and modern. Cooling/heating worked extremely well, very good quality of air-con. Very good quality of everything in the apartment. Location 5 minutes from the sea, 15 minutes from Monopoli. Very nice host.
The location and the view. But the best thing was Pietro and how accommodating he was and how helpful in showing us around the town and we are to park. His recommendations for restaurant was excellent. It truly made staying at the property so much easier to be met by Pietro and taken to the hotel with all of our luggage.
Perfect mix of comfort and authenticity. The place screams Puglia vibes, located in the middle of trulli and olive trees. The room is large fresh and comfortable. The breakfast is very good and local. The owner is a perfect host, he can also provide suggestions on the best place to eat. Definitely recommend.
Best location is Monopoly, right in the center of old Town, but not on main street so it's quiet at night. Small beach at 3 minutes walk, small shop at 1 minut walk. The old Town area is full of life, locals and tourist also, we really liked it. Tons of restaurants from 5-10 euro pp to 100+ euro pp.
I’d say one of the best spots in Monopoli, views of the best beach in town. Quiet before 8am but very busy after that so best to get your swims in early if you like the peace. Perfect location close to everything you need. Offered transfers to and from location.
Loved the location- it was perfect for exploring the beautiful village of Monopoli! We had 3 very nice beaches close by and still it was a great walk on the seafront to Old Town! Rocco was great at communicating and was always there to help!
Easy checki-n, cute apartment, goegeous shared breakfast terrace. And best of all, the host Cesare: Nicest, most helpful person ever. Grazie Mille, Cesare! Oh, just one thing: watch your head, there are some very low ceilings in Monopoli! 😉
Clean apartment in an excellent area in Monopoli. Just a short walk to Old Monopoli to enjoy the architecture, restaurants and waterfront. When you walk in, you can sense the great smell, fresh air and cleanliness. Pleasant place to be!
Amazing place to stay in the heart of Monopoli! The hosts are some of the best I've ever had helping make your stay the best it can be from start to fininsh.
Conveniently located in front of the beach, its a cute boutique hotel with good looking, clean and silent rooms - great value for money! i would come back
