The staff was exceptionally helpful. The concept of the hotel is different. Our room had a number of large planters in it near the windows. They contained plantings that were almost small trees, with a self-watering system.

The hotel is situated in the city centre and you can reach the old city, attractions, restaurants, shops and the waterfront area on foot. We arrived early and was able to drop off our bags and had it stored before checking in. The staff was cordial and helpful. They spoke English and we had no problems. The room was spacious and clean, towels changed everyday and daily breakfast provided. Our first time to Bari and the hotel did not disappoint. We'll be back.

The Apulian capital Bari has been known for its port since Roman times. Nowadays there are 2 harbours: cruise ships and ferries to Greece and Croatia depart from the new port, while the old port shelters fishing vessels.
Between them is a seafront road bordering the real attraction – the old town. Narrow, cobbled streets lead under arches to hidden piazzas with pavement cafes. Many are on adjoining Piazza Mercantile and Piazza del Ferrarese, where the old Roman road is exposed.
The imposing 12th-century Norman-Swabian Castle guards the west of the historic centre, and the simple Cathedral of San Sabino is from the same period. Equally understated is the Basilica of St Nicholas, housing relics of the saint. Pope John Paul II once prayed there, which may have given rise to Bari Airport’s name: Karol Wojtyła Airport.
Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the meeting point of the old town and the Murat district, built under orders of Napoleon’s brother-in-law. Facing each other across this street are the colourful façades of the municipal office and Piccinni Theatre, though most prestigious is the Petruzzelli Theatre opera house.
Booking.com’s Bari accommodation includes luxury hotels by the Fiera del Levante, cheap city centre apartments, and B&Bs near the train station. For families, the slides and swimming pools of Bari Acquapark make a great day out.

Beautiful city when in the old town which is charming, the lack of bins and untidyness detracts from the charm of the city. An evening walk through the alleyways is an experience dropping into the many bars for a glass of wine while watching the world pass by is charming. All pallets and wallets are catered for in the city from cheap pizzas to fine dining and even great sushi such as Sushi Daiki. Local buses are frequent although finish at 11 pm and taxis are a little hard to find due to the strict no pick up on the street rules. A car is needed to really see the region and visiting towns such as Monopoli, Alberobello and Lama Monachile are a must

We enjoyed exploring old Bari with its meandering narrow streets. There were many very old buildings to discover and also very many bars and restaurants!
There is a good walk along the seafront which will eventually take you to the pane e pomodoro beach. Or if you don’t fancy walking there is a bus running every 12 mins which will take you there.

A city with a great atmosphere.
A city with a great atmosphere. Not yet saturated with tourists. Great cuisine, great wine, nice people, good prices. Very well connected with nearby towns, which are worth visiting during your stay.
Minus for the dog poop that hasn't been cleaned up, there's a lot of it on the sidewalks. You have to watch your step when walking between the blocks, because it's clean only in the old town and city center.

A little gem that surprises.
A little gem that surprises. Bari surprised me with character, history, charm and clealiness. The town has an atmosphere like the French riviera cities. Wandering in the streets of Bari Vecchia offers delightful sights of charming architecture where ancient and modern live together. Excellent dining and bar options with top choice of evertyhing.
Hotel Costa’s location is perfect when you come to Bari late at night. The receptionists were kind and helpful when discussing directions. Close to old town, you can get to beach in 12ish minutes time by bus from central station.
Very friendly welcome at hotel, very nice room with balcony and terrace. Within easy walking distance of the old town of Bari. Great Breakfast as well! I really like the zero-waste concept - well-done for the initiative.
The location of the hotel is excellent. Just 2 minutes walk from the sea. It is situated in Bari Old Town (Bari Vecchia) which gives you the feel that you are a local there. Lots of places and restaurants around.
This hotel is in the best part of Bari - old town Bari! It also had a kitchenette which was a really nice surprise after being in hotels without any kitchen facilities - great location and really lovely staff.
