We needed a night's stay in Gore as we toured on our electric tandem Oakleigh fitted the bill with storage for the bike and a full kitchen. The proprietor was a congenial person and called several days in advance to check some details of our requirements. A good stay altogether.

Super nice hosts made us feel at home. Comfy bed and everything you needed. We were hoping for some organic eggs or something from the farm for breakfast, but it was more continental. (To be fair, that was not stated in the description, we just assumed that from the name "Organic Farmstay"). But lovely hosts and very nice and we would recommend it to any travelers. The grounds and flowers were lovely!

Love Gore for its beautiful city centre.
Love Gore for its beautiful city centre. City council has done a great job. The city is tidy and you can see flowers on the main streets. Fantastic! Lots of churches which are amazing. May the Lord bless the whole city and it's residents!

Gore is a nice country town surrounded by lovely green countryside and is well served with amenities. There is a great art gallery which has an impressive collection of Ralph Hotere works amongst others and a museum that tells the story of illicit whiskey distilling in the area. Several places to eat and get a good coffee like The Stables Cafe. If you are a fisher there is the Mataura river which runs through the town. Go North and its a nice drive to Queenstown and south gets you to Invercargill.

lovely countryside and the cafe and restaurant definitely worth visiting again. Shops were varied and I spent far too much money, the hospice shop was a great place to spend half an hour or more browsing. If you were self catering the main shops were there for you. Pleasant place to walk around as well.

Gore is the heart of the Southern area and in true Southern style their hospitality is second to none. People are friendly and the area has a quiet feel but is still modern and facilities are great. The Town and Country club is a great social place with very friendly bar staff and locals..

Gore is a busy, vibrant and prosperous rural town. Buildings are well-maintained and the streets clean and tidy. Good shopping
with friendly retailers. Easy to find one's way around, and
the town an excellent for driving around Southland.
A most enjoyable visit.
The breakfast was lovly fresh farm eggs and hash browns with options of all kinds of cereal, yoghurt, fresh preserved fruit and tea, coffee and juice services, Annette has a beautiful property based 5mins drive from gore, our homestay was cosy and had all the qualities of a well presented motel, great shower! Extra large bathtub, I would highly recommend staying here. Thankyou for a quiet relaxing stay we very much enjoyed our stay. Kat and dac. Fox glacier
Hokonui B&B is in a lovely rural setting. The view from the breakfast area is fantastic. The B&B is located just a short drive out of Gore. We had the upstairs room and it was spacious, private, comfortable, quiet, and had a gorgeous view. The hosts were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. There was plenty of space to park. The price was very reasonable considering the room and the breakfast. We would gladly stay here again.
We had such a lovely time spending New Year’s with Annette and friends at her beautiful and peaceful home. Annette is an incredible host and talking about NZ life with her might just have been the highlight of our trip :) Her home is extremely comfortable and was very conveniently located for us as we travelled down toward Bluff/Stewart island. We hope to be back to NZ and especially Gore someday soon - thank you Annette!
Cute little motel just on the edge of the town of Gore. It's run by a lovely young couple who were very friendly and were a great help with dining options in town. They are renovating each room slowly, and were quick to warn us that our room's carpet is on its way to being replaced. Everything else was clean and well-kept and you can tell that the owners care about keeping their standards up.
The location was perfect - close to Gore but in the peaceful countryside. While close to the owner's house, our cottage was private. The layout of the cottage was efficient and felt roomy. The the furniture and fittings were of high quality. We enjoyed sitting on the tiny porch to drink our morning coffee and listen to the rustle of the breeze in the trees.
Beautiful accomodation!! I was gutted to only be staying in Gore for one night as you provided such a comfortable and welcoming stay!
I travel for work every week and this is some of the best accomodation I have stayed in! You have thought of everything and the attention to detail, cleanliness, space and facilities are second to none!

Stunning location looking over farms and pastures of Gore. Huge great room to enjoy, with the hosts. Very kind people, and very accommodating. We reserved two rooms, neither of which appeared to have have any heating. Not a problem in summer, but could be chilly in winter.
The location is ok but a little out of town, however there was a courtesy coach to take us to town. The room was pleasant and comfortable. Helpful to have a drink and meal at the hotel on site, the platter was huge and the staff was friendly.
A lovely, clean and cosy cottage in a peaceful rural setting some 20 minutes outside Gore. It was comfortable and had a well-equipped kitchen, a heatpump, bathroom with bath and shower and available garage space. A perfect get-away spot.
This is a beautiful home with equally beautiful views. Our host was very friendly and the cooked breakfast was lovely. Location-wise it was perfect, just on the outskirts of Gore. It was super peaceful and the night-sky was so clear.
Lovely warm welcome from the host.
The bed was so comfy and the peaceful location made for a great night's sleep.
Beautiful poached eggs on toast for breakfast too.
I will definitely stay again next time I am in Gore - thank you.
Shona and Brian were very warm and accommodating. A real Topnotch! The place was really quiet, and really had a great night and we slept very well; I must say its way better than a hotel! A home away from home. 🤗
