    Always on the Move

A city on the move, Warsaw is constantly changing in an effort to rebuild what was lost during World War II. There’s no better example of this than the stunning Old Town Square, where pastel facades sit alongside dome-topped spires.

Starting here is the Royal Route which passes several historic buildings on its way out to Wilanów, where an ornate Royal Palace is set in a huge park that was the retreat of kings since the 17th century. Just as grandiose is the Palace of Culture and Science, Stalin’s gift to Warsaw that still manages to evoke feelings of hatred and love in equal measure. Go up to the terrace for panoramic city views.

Other cultural features are the Warsaw Uprising Museum, considered the best museum in Poland, and traditional bars that still serve down-to-earth food washed down with a shot of vodka - a throwback to the Communist era. Don’t expect to find a seat though – there aren’t any.

Warsaw also has a thriving club scene and more shopping centers than you could throw a stick at. Not that you’d want to, as you’ll be too busy picking up the bargains.

Just outside the city is Warsaw Airport, efficiently linked by public transport to the city’s hotels, guest houses and hostels, available on Booking.com.

Hotels that guests love in Warsaw

    • A very clean hotel with very courteous staff. Tomek stands out- very polite and very helpful. Location is great with a shuttle bus to and from the airport every 30 minutes. Bus fare from the hotel to 'Old Town' (Zone 2) is just 4.4 zloty- so it close enough to the City Centre. Bed room is spacious with comfortable bed, and quiet. Very clean bathroom. Thoroughly recommended!!

    • Travelled with a friend. We reached the hotel separately & and checked in at different hours. Even though the booking was made under my name there was no problem to let my friend to the room. Extremely helpful staff. Replied all our enquiries & very quickly. Excellent location, only 20min from city centre by public transport. Close to 2 airports: Chopin & Okecie. Tasty breakfast. Very good value for money. If in Warsaw again I'll book this hotel :)

    • Nice hotel, not far from airport and 8 km from old town of Warsaw (6,5 EUR by taxi or 3 EUR with public transport). Great breakfast.

    • We stayed here for one night between plane flights. The location was excellent, especially as a free shuttle bus ran to and from the airport every 30 minutes. It was an easy bus trip from the hotel into Warsaw and we were able to spend half a day in the old town. Staff were very helpful and facilities were excellent. We even had tea/coffee making facilities in our room.

    • Decent size rooms. Hotel is close to the airport but good also for overnight stay when travelling to/ from Germany if you don't want to stay in Warsaw city centre.
