The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and big enough for my family. Only three of us ended up using it but it would've easily accommodate my family of five. Unfortunately, because we had to leave so early in the morning of a one-night stay, we didn't get to try the free breakfast.

This was the perfect location to prepare for our hike to the Maroon Bells Wilderness to hike the Four Loop Pass. The front desk advised us on the best way to get to the trailhead. After our hike we Tipsy Trout. Great meal. A really lovely town.

This is such a quaint little town!
This is such a quaint little town! You can walk everywhere and people are very nice. There are some great biking and hiking trails within walking distance. Outdoor restaurants are exceptional. We were in town to hike the 14er at maroon bells. Basalt was a perfect distance and not as expensive to stay as Aspen.

Cute little town with a lovely river going thru it and nice walking paths . Nice restaurants . Take Midland Ave. out of town to Ruedi Reservoir . About 20 miles thru a gorgeous valley along the river(great fly fishing). The Reservoir is large and completely surrounded by beautiful green mountains . There are several campgrounds and picnic areas , and a marina .Best day yet !

Basalt is near Aspen but without the high prices and crowds.
Basalt is near Aspen but without the high prices and crowds. Convenient to Aspen if wish to visit. Two rivers meet in Basalt so you can stay very near the rivers - plenty of fishing , rafting, or simply walking near rivers. Excellent restaurants on streets in town - one restaurant has music almost every night (Heather’s).
Everything about our stay was top notch. The staff was incredible and went to great lengths to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were so clean and the bed was awesome. Great sheets, mattress and pillows! The provided breakfast was also exceptional and not just your run of the mill hotel breakfast of Stale toast and rubber eggs. The location was an added bonus in regards to walking everywhere i would stay here again!
We stayed overnight in Basalt and it was lovely… I’m glad we chose to stay there and not Aspen which I found a bit creepy in a “too perfect” way. The front desk clerk was very helpful about great hiking in the area. The room was nice and cool when we arrived and everything was clean and comfortable. Lots of space in our room. Steps away from restaurants and shopping.
The hotel backs up to a river and it was wonderful to hear the sound of water outside my window. It is conveniently located to restaurants and shops. The woman at the front desk was super helpful. I had just finished a long of bicycling and she let me check in a little early.
Met Thomas in the lot and he helped with my situation for checking in early and arriving late after the desk closes.
Room small though very clean. Price was quoted to me upon booking, so no surprise. Older "remodeled" hotel has a great location, reflects the higher price.
Amazing property right in the heart of historic Basalt and walking distance to some fantastic restaurants. Interacting with the staff was extremely pleasant, the room was great and a fantastic value. I would highly recommend staying here on your trip.
The location was great. The hotel was easy to find and close enough to Aspen that we could drive to the Maroon Bells without any problem…..our main reason for being in the area. My husband did enjoy fly fishing in a river nearby.
The staff and facilities are great! It’s located on the river in the heart of old town Basalt…10-15 minutes from Snowmass and Aspen. I look forward to staying again during my winter vacation. Thanks for a great stay!
The hotel is not in Aspen but pretty close, is cozy and comfortable, and the room was clean.
The included breakfast was standard, both sweets and salty.
The parking is available and free.
The peace and tranquility, very quaint, and the staff was very friendly. You can walk to restaurants and shops in downtown Basalt. We will be back. Loved everything about our stay
