This review is long over due, i’ve been busy since i’ve gotten back from our weekend here. My family stay at the, Ranch Mountain Cabin. We spent 3 nights here. The area is nice and quiet. Plenty of fresh air. We also glad that we could bring our two huskies along, for an additional charge. They loved the cooler temperatures at night, in July. The cabin was good enough for 5 adults. The loft area was a lot shorter than i thought it would’ve been. It’s about 3 ft high, so we had to crawl around up here.😂😂 which was fine, the area would be great for kids. There was an AC, which seems like it needs to replaced, it just blows out warm air. But that didn’t matter, because during the warm hours, we were outside in the shade. Even in July you just need to open the windows at night to cool the entire cabin down. They did have everything we needed. The hosts did have a booklet of all the house rules. As well as information on the two towns near by. This was my first “house rental” booking and the experience was great! communication with the host was clear and concise. I figured since the host lived in the area we would be checked on, we weren’t. And that was great! that put me at ease. I can’t wait to book this same cabin or one of the others soon.

Blue Mountain Domes - The WOW Experience

Monticello

We booked a ‘tent’ dome through booking.com and quickly upgraded it to a ‘queen suite’ to accommodate a third adult. The pictures on the website were great, so it definitely seemed worth the money. The upgrade process happened through booking.com’s chat feature, and was confirmed through an email. When we got there, though, we found that the dome assigned to us only had a single queen bed, and had an air mattress for a third person. Not what we expected from the pictures or the booking.com page! We called the number from the confirmation email, and without hesitation the owner went to work for us. Within half an hour, he was on site to lead us to another dome, apologizing for the inconvenience. The dome we then found ourselves in was something straight out of a dream. Incredible views, incredible privacy and all the luxury we could ever expect from a place like this. We almost felt guilty to disturb it. Safe to say, “the WOW experience” absolutely came true for us and the host deserves all our praise and more! Our only regret is that we didn’t book for longer..

I came to Utah to visit Moab after arriving in Moab all hotels were sold out so we ended up in Monticello. After getting to the hotel I was kinda leary looked old and kinda run down but to find out someone had just bought the hotel and was in process of refurbishing it. Our room was very nice beds were comfortable and the room was clean no mold. I would definitely stay here again friendly people Beautiful state

Monticello is the best base to visit The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. It takes about an hour to get to the visitor center - if you do not make any stops on your way. But the surrounding nature is wonderful, so you probably make lots of stops to take photos. The road into the national park in Indian Creek Canyon is very scenic. Monticello is a small and quiet town. There's nothing to do there except to spend your night. There are two pizza saloons (the medium pizza costs $15), a Mexican restaurant which had a growing line of customers in the evening and a Thai restaurant which is probably the most expensive in town (minimum $20 for a meal, no drinks). Its worth to go and have a look at a Mormon temple on the edge of town - it is beautiful.

Lots of beautiful places accessible nearby.

Lots of beautiful places accessible nearby. Town is and has been a drab and boring place unless you live there. With a few exceptions it doesn’t hold much for travelers. Small grocery store, ample fuel stations, hospital. Not known for its restaurants.

Monticello is a convenient place to stay for visiting Canyonlands NP and other area attractions. We were there on a Sunday, and we found many of the restaurants closed, but the ones open offered enough choices of food to eat.

    Has few retail opportunities.

Has few retail opportunities. Most of the restaurants are seasonal which ends on Sept 30th. There are three gasoline stations which seems adequate. This is the gateway to the Needles District of Canyonlands.

we wanted a place close to Needles section of Canyonlands NP. Many of the places we wanted to go were dirt roads requiring 4 wheel drive. we really could have stayed a day less. On the extra day we did enjoy a nice road trip to 4 corners and the Cortez, CO. The country is beautiful around here. Monticello was an the best stopping point for our purposes. We certainly could have eliminated one of the three nights, but it worked out.

Good location for visiting Arches NP and small town of Monticello also interesting. Very comfortable and spacious room. Nice swimming pool. Plenty of free parking. Staff could have been more customer friendly and breakfast was poor. Overall the hotel served its purpose.

Clean , bright and spacious room/sheets. The washroom was very clean as well. There were enough towels provided and they smelled fresh. The town of Monticello is small and this is the perfect place to stay for 1 night if you are transiting through the city.
