The main reason we stayed in Mountain Home was because my sister is building a house there. We were there for a graduation, so didn't spend a lot of time in Mountain Home. We had to travel to Fayetteville for the graduation. The roads are a little hilly and curvy to get there. We did have fun playing mini golf and got done just before the hail and storms hit. We ate at Holy Smokes BBQ and the food and staff were really great.

Always enjoy a mini getaway to Mt Home.

Always enjoy a mini getaway to Mt Home. Love the downtown square area for shopping & dining. The food and atmosphere at Rapps Barren Brewing Company is top knotch. Over the weekend enjoyed sipping and lounging at Crush Wine Studio…really cool vintage vibe with cellar and alley patio. The lake and river is nearby for fishing, boating, hiking. Great small town, friendly people.

We've stayed at Mountain Home on previous trips and enjoyed it, but the last trip was just an overnight stay. It's a nice town with lots to see and do in the area but we were glad our overnught stay at Quality Inn was just an overnight stay. The rooms were very clean and mist of the staff were friendly, but we had reaerved a dog-friendly room, which we KNEW were on the first floor and when we arrived they had no rooms on the first floor but said they would let us have one on the secobd floor. It all worked out but was very inconvenient.

Here is my opinions on the area. It is beautiful.

Here is my opinions on the area. It is beautiful. You are within minutes of driving distance to two beautiful lakes and a gorgeous river. However, everything on the weekend closes very early, especially restaurants and bars. We were looking forward to a fun night out, just my husband and I, found a cute bar on the square called Raaps Brewery and grill. Amazing food and amazing drinks. Very cool venue. They had live music that we had just made the last of it. However they closed at 10. Which was crazy. So we searched for somewhere else to go and there was Buckets, which is great if your a couple guys and into sports, not real classy. There was a bar kinda out of town named Aces I believe, they were packed and full of rowdy college kids and a younger party crowd. Then there was the Mill tavern which has a small bar area, and mostly full of the older crowd exchanging fishing stories. Had a few bikers in there, which normally would be our kind of crowd, but we were looking for a low key. classy, semi formal place to sit down and have a drink which is not available in this town. If you are looking for a very dressed down, average place to drink and have fun. Perfect. There is not anything on an upper scale to go dressed up to on a date night and have a classy drink and conversation. It is 100% lake life living and very very casual. If you want to have a drink I suggest going to the liquor store, buying your own alcohol and staying in. The fun factor is seriously missing in this town. Not much to do at all. There is a bowling alley or two, but other than that it is very much catered to the old crowd and nothing more. We will come back for the lake but if we were wanting an area to get dressed up, have a classy dinner and drinks and maybe a night on the town, this is def not the town for that. It is def a jeans, tshirt, shorts, and flip flops and messy bun, in bed by 9pm kind of town.

The kids love the pool here & it has a really neat old school meets updated vibe . The hosts were very accommodating and friendly , even when I asked to switch rooms & I appreciated that . Considering the prices of other hotels & reviews in this area , you get what you pay for . Is it a 5 star hotel , no . But it worked for what we needed at the time . Pricing for the area & with an indoor pool was fair .
