Hotel staff are courteous, polite and helpful. I'm pressed with the honesty of the maids. I accidentally dropped my US $300 on the floor under the coffee table, the money was there untouched by the time I got back to my room in the evening.
I love the imperial building set on the highest floor of the hotel has sacred altar and well maintained garden.

Loved the antiquities museum.
Loved the antiquities museum. Situated near the citadel but a separate ticket. Lovely old wooden palace. Takes about 1-1.5hr to visit. Often missed in the day tours. A day tour is a good idea as they drive you around to the key sights which are quite dispersed. Often excellent value with lunch thrown in.

The Citadel was a little disappointing.
The Citadel was a little disappointing. It has the potential to be a major attraction. The grounds needed lots of attention. The main royal palace was under construction or maintenance, so a 'no-go zone'.
The audio guide and associated map numbering system used to direct users to all the features of the site was very hard to follow and in some cases inaccurate.

Having read about the damage to the Citadel during the 1968 events, expectations about the Citadel were modest. However, both the city and the Citadel turned out to be quite charming and captivating. We spent more than half a day exploring the Citadel.
Using Grab for transportation made it easy and convenient to explore the city.
Just try avoid going during hot periods - we went early April and felt temperatures were extremely hot around 42-44c.

Hue is great to visit since there where many historic sites to go to
In addition Hue is still not too overrun by tourists, i.e. if you stay a couple of nights at which you have the opportunity to go to local restaurants like CHAN and see how vietnamese families enjoy life.

Hotels don't carry enough tourist information for first time...
Hotels don't carry enough tourist information for first time visitors. This should be the role of the Tourist Board. Also a better city map showing more details on how to get to the sites, where to buy tickets and where is the entrance.
A colonial hotel with lovely architecture in which we were really looking forward to staying. So much so, we hired a car and driver to get to The Silk Path Hotel from Da Nang. The bed was very comfortable and there was a huge choice for breakfast which was set in a lovely restaurant. We enjoyed a walk by the Perfume River to the left and across the road from the hotel skirting the side of the Music Academy. The hotel is very convenient to Hue Railway Station about 4 mins walk away. The bathroom and bathtub were very well appointed.
The Jade is always a comfortable , clean, safe place and located conveniently . The staff are exceptional especially the receptionist. This is our third stay here and it never disappoints . Breakfast is simple and tasty enough . If you want buffet or 5 star breakfast go somewhere else . One other thing that sets this apart is how quiet this hotel is no one banging doors, moving furniture or yelling in the corridor ( well it wasn't the times we stayed) that's an added bonus when travelling . We will return when in Hue again .
The staff were very helpful and assisted me with booking day trips and taxis. The room was spacious and I had a nice view of the city. The breakfast I had here is the best I've had so far at any other hotel in Vietnam. They had a wide selection to choose from and you could order noodle soups or eggs made to order. I also had a relaxing massage from the Spa in the hotel. The hotel is also conveniently located and is very close to the river, which is nice to walk along in the evenings.
Centrally located small hotel in an area with plenty of restaurants and walking distance to the Citadel. We had a lovely big room with a comfortable bed and a balcony overlooking the side street. Bathroom had a separate, glassed in shower which was a treat (not a "wet" bathroom). Spotlessly clean. Breakfast made to order with a nice selection of Vietnamese and western choices. Lovely staff that arranges trips (maybe a little pushy, like everywhere), but always helpful. Lovely stay!
The best place to stay in Hue. Service is amazing and all the staff is really nice. Special mention for the amazing Mermaid restaurant staff including Mr Quong who ensured our request for some special dishes were met. These small gestures truly deserve 5 star review. Have been staying and reviewing since last 10 days various restaurant and hotel, this sort of topped the hospitality levels. The front desk and Mr. Ben who helped with pickup drop shuttle was all really nice.
Immaculate hotel. The room was lovely and very spacious with a very comfy bed. Breakfast was varied and very good. The staff were very helpful and advised us of the highlights to see in Hue during our one day stay. They organised a reasonably priced and lovely driver to take us between the sights. We were amazed and touched when staff organised a cake and sang happy birthday to my partner during breakfast having noticed it was his birthday during check in.
This was one of the best hotels we stayed in during a 3 weeks tour in Vietnam. The room was great, with a big window, really nice big and comfy bed, nice shower. We arrived at 8:30 am after a long train journey Hanoi to Hue, and they let us to check in early, which was super nice to rest and to have a shower. Breakfast also had great options. The location is good, close to bars but you cannot hear too much sound as in the main street party
The women who run the hotel are amazing. Very friendly, kind and great with our little one. They did a mixed breakfast for us - pancakes for kids and Vietnamese soup for us. If you don’t want to head out far, the restaurants in the street are good but if you’re on a budget, those on the main road adjacent to the river are best - and great food. It’s a bit of a party street but gets quiet early on Sunday to Thursday nights.
The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast buffet is delicious. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the grounds are well-maintained. The grand lobby is inviting and the hotel is conveniently located near many attractions. During my stay, I was able to explore the city with ease. I highly recommend Thanh Lich Hue Hotel for its serene atmosphere and excellent service.
The breakfast was really great with a lot of choice. The hospitality was insanely good! Staff very vriendly and helpful.
The room was also very clean! The pool was also great to cool down in the Hue heat
You will nowhere get a better price-quality :)
We also rented a scooter to go from Hue to Hoi An and they arranged everything perfectly! Our bags were safely delivered to our new hotel.
This was one of the best hotels we have stayed at in Vietnam. From the welcoming and helpful staff at check in and throughout our stay, the wonderfully maintained facilities and the little touches, we were very happy with our stay. Room was well appointed, beds comfortable, the breakfast excellent. All in all, a lovely place to spend a few days.
Linh, is the nicest person ever. So friendly and most welcoming. Very helpful and kind. The most friendly hotel we stayed in Vietnam. Breakfast was very good with great coffee.
Very quiet location but within walking distance to everything. Great places to eat and a fantastic laundry a few doors up. Had a wonderful stay in Hue.
Maya Homestay is in a great location. Close to some great restaurants and killer Bun Bo Hue. Rooms were clean, spacious, and well appointed. Everything you need in a hotel. Laddy and his family were incredibly hospitable. Bending over backwards to get us transportation when Hue flooded and everything shut down.
Because of unforeseen events, we had to stay longer than planned in Hue and decided to stay 3 nights at this hotel instead of 1. It was one of the best hotels we had in Vietnam! Very friendly staff, good location, clean bedrooms and very good breakfast. Totally recommend it!
this hotel full of surprises,I love I this host very much。They showed me around Hue for free, take me to the train station for free,I am very touched。this is my first time to come Vietnam,This hotel owner show the enthusiasm of the Vietnamese. thank so much.
we really enjoy at this hotel during our stay at Hue. Ruby the receptionist was superb helpful and nice, she made our stay even better, thank you Ruby. Breakfast is fantastic I was craving for a breakfast like this since I came to Vietnam.
Indochine palace was a lovely hotel. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Our room was spacious with a wonderful view of Hue. The gym was great and so was the pool. The music played in the lobby at night was lovely.
Probably the nicest hotel we’ve stayed in, in Vietnam. Lovely staff, a true 5 star hotel. The sky bar was lovely as was the room. I wish we had stayed longer.
