Location of the place was great and staff very friendly .
Just 164 feet from the Myall River, Hawks Nest Motel features an outdoor pool and a covered barbecue area with outdoor seating. Free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and a DVD player are standard in all rooms....

The room was larger than we expected. Nice small outdoor balcony for breakfast. Walking distance to shops and close to the beach.
Just a 5-minute walk from the beach and 2 minutes' walk from the town center, Hotel Nelson (formerly The Nelson Resort) has a heated swimming pool, fitness center and a steam room.
Oaks Port Stephens Pacific Blue Resort provides relaxing resort accommodations in Salamander Bay.

Pool was amazing but cold I guess to be expected, would only be good on hot days in summer
Spa needed to be warmer and staff needed to monitor parents allowing children to ignore rules splashing and kicking turning on and off constantly (button needs to be higher so children can not access), putting heads under water. One child under 2yrs went under water a near drowning parent was standing above them watching other children in the other pool unsupervised. Strict instructions need to be given at check in for families with young children.
Free Wi-Fi and a outdoor swimming pool are on offer at Port Stephens Motel. Set among tropical gardens, it is just 1 minute’s walk from the Nelson Bay waterfront.
Tea Gardens Motel is a 2-hour drive from Sydney and a 1-hour drive from Newcastle. The property is a 1-hour drive from Nelson Bay, or you can take the ferry from Tea Gardens to Nelson Bay.

For people who like places a bit off the beaten track but with lively local community. Not many choices for eating out, but good IGA, and bakery and interesting hardware/toy gift store if you're looking for kids' gifts.

There was a great lady who did thai massages in Tea gardens, the golf course and club was amazing. The boathouse was great for meals at tea gardens too. We were disapointed that the oyster barn was closed down. Bennets beach was great for sunrises and walking it was so clean and very quiet.

Bad booking agent who did not notify me the owners did not want to rent . Only after seven months and holding my deposit money I was told this after I called them to pay the balance of rent . Very unprofessional .

Hawks Nest is a beautiful, peaceful area.
Hawks Nest is a beautiful, peaceful area. Lots of beaches to explore. The weather was great, but we were only there 2 days.
Breakfast at great little place in Tea Gardens called 'The Boatshed' - great food, friendly service.
Dinner (takeaway) from Mumm's on the Myall was also good, and the only takeaway place open at 7.30pm on a Saturday night.

Restaurant needed some cheaper options.
Restaurant needed some cheaper options.
Drinks were expensive.
The local IGA has a really popular cafe with really nice food at affordable prices.
I liked all the natural beauty there, and the fact that there’s still plenty of trees & wild life etc.
Jimmy’s beach & Winda Woppa have beautiful views… tea Gardens, which is just over the bridge has a very nice pub with nice views.

Reception couldn’t find my booking upon arrival and gave me a heart attack. Was envisioning having to drive back to Sydney.
Booked a ground floor room due to knee problems. This was an option on booking.com but on arrival we had been placed on the Ist floor. Reception staff stated I should have called them direct for this option. Why is it an option on booking.com then?
The morning we were checking out a cleaner walked in at 9 am as reception had told them we had handed the keys in. Glad we were both dressed!
Also noise from bar/restaurant downstairs on Friday night and the smell from their smoker was full on. Very pub like. I would have hated to have young children with me who were trying to sleep. We would have liked an early night after travelling but this was not possible.
We thoroughly recommend friendly Hawks Nest Motel. We had a great welcome from Michelle, the room was very comfortable, spacious, clean, fully and thoughtfully equipped, had a generous balcony, and there was good parking. The building was quiet, and 10 minutes easy walk to shops and the magnificent Bennet's beach. We would be very happy to stay again.
location was excellent close to the beach and the caravan park the room was ok needed a little more light and fresh air but the bed and bathroom was fine the pool was good and the bar. food, and seating was lovely all over a good weekend away for the triathlon
good location in hawks nest, had all the amenities and more. highlight was the amazing roof terrace which is private - great place to watch the sunset with a drink. balcony / bbq were also awesome. easy to park. good communication from host.
We really enjoyed staying at the Hawks Nest Motel, it was clean, comfortable and quiet, with very helpful service. The manager gave ius a map and a good rundown of things to do and see.
It was so nice we decided to stay an extra night.
One of the best views I ever had in Hawks Nest. Unit is very comfortable and lots of space. Very good quality of washing machine machine, dryer and dishwasher. But pots and pens was not cleaned properly. All the rest perfect
We booked on recommendation, and we were not disappointed.
Sadly we arrived late in the day and did not get to enjoy Hawks Nest at is best, but our accommodation was comfortable and quiet,
Will come back, can recommend
