Saalfelden is a cute little resort town close to Saalbach Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn ski fields. One hour from Salzburg, 2 hours from Innsbruck & Munich. There are a few supermarkets and it is very central to lots of cities. Haci Buba Bistro is a great place to eat, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from (& a McDonalds). Zell Am See is 15 minutes south, which is a must-visit town with a beautiful lake. We enjoyed our stay here.Guest review byJackieNew Zealand - 10.0

A small town with a pleasant atmosphere. Beautiful nature in the surroundings, a beautiful view of the mountains, a great starting point for trips. An excellent pizzeria (Pizzeria La Piazza) on the square in the center of the city (next to the town hall), a pleasant walk around the Ritzensee, tasty products from the goat farm (stand on the circuit around the Ritzensee).Guest review byMonika Soukup HruskovaCzech Republic - 10.0
This is a great town. I went for the Jazz Festival.
This is a great town. I went for the Jazz Festival. The folks at the Tourism office should be commended for a fantastic job putting it on, and for the help they provided by email and in person. I plan to return to Saalfelden not only for more music and hiking next summer, but to cross country ski around Ritzensee and into the valleys. There are also biking routes that I'm interested in. The town is well served by trains, including Railjet Express, and has a bus system. Accommodations closer to the Bahnhof would be great, though.Guest review byAndrewAustria
