I'm very positively surprised. There are a bunch of negative reviews here on booking, so I was worried, but I can't confirm them:
- noise during night: If you have a room to the courtyard, it's absoutely silent, so you should ask for that when booking (rooms 103 and 104 are good, probably others as well). You should avoid room 110 as staff is talking right next to your door the whole night.
- sauna: Works great, you just need to turn it on (ask staff to turn it on for you), it needs 30 min to heat up (staff will tell you it takes 3 min to heat up, which is incorrect, and easily can be veriefied with the display), also the steam sauna works like a charm
- staff is friendly
- fantastic price-value-ratio

It was easy to find the hotel by car. No problems at the check-in.
The rooms were great. Spacious. Clean.
Breakfast was excellent. The food quality is extremely good.
The staff were very polite.
What really left an impression was that everyone speaks excellent English, although, being a Serb I had no issues understanding Bulgarian. All of them work really hard to be of service and that is greatly appreciated.

Sofia is the Bulgarian capital and its largest city, situated at the foot of Vitosha Mountain in the very center of the Balkan Peninsula. With a variety of architectural styles, picturesque scenery and easy access to outdoor activities, this city is a definite must-see!
From well-preserved city walls built in the 7th century BC through to the early Medieval buildings. From the 4th-century Rotunda St. George and 10th-century Boyana Church with its stunning 13th-century frescoes to Socialist-era monumental constructions, Sofia is a real treat for history lovers.
Most of the popular landmarks are located in the Oborishte district, the most central part of the city featuring plenty of greenery, cobbled streets and the most popular landmark, the Neo-Byzantine Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
Sofia has plenty of natural sites too, including the renowned thermal and mineral springs, the primary reason Thracians established the city here before the 7th century BC. Enjoy a walk in the most popular parks, the Borisova gradina or the impressive Vitosha Nature Park with more than 6,500 acres within the city limits.
From hiking to skiing on the Vitosha and from sightseeing to relaxing in mineral springs, Sofia has plenty of fun for everyone! On Booking.com you can find nearly 190 properties in the city, from 5-star central accommodations to convenient hotels near Sofia Airport.
Sofia left much to be desired as a travel destination.
Sofia left much to be desired as a travel destination. There are few meaningful sites to see, and the general atmosphere feels quite dull. Most locals don’t speak English, making communication challenging. The city still carries a noticeable sense of its communist past, and overall, it falls significantly below typical EU standards in terms of infrastructure and development. It’s not a place I’d recommend for those seeking a vibrant or welcoming experience in Europe.

What a wonderful place, love it, and in the future when they open the museums and galleries will be triple winner. I really liked Sofia. Just friends if you travel the Balkans you have to accept that people smoke cigarets everywhere, I mean everywhere.

World travelers, Europeans and Americans alike, should definitely get to know Sofia and the Bulgarian people. This is a city and a country that are going to add up to a real power house (even more so) in the future. Like every new place on earth, one needs time to get to know the neighborhood, the personalities, the places to be and the places to avoid, the new language, and the new mentality. But Sofia and Bulgaria Is/are RICH in history, diversity, and culture. Tell your friends.

Some amazing historical monuments from various eras including the royal palace and an impressive domed cathedral.
Lots of choice for eating out and good transport system linking you to trains and buses as well as the airport. Easy to get around the city on trams.
Huge shopping mall in Serdica.
Nice scenery with the mountains in the background.
Main train station will connect you to pretty much any other part of Bulgaria. Train fares are low cost and trains are mainly basic but comfortable. You can book day trips from Sofia to places such as the Rila Monastery.

One of the most friendly European countries.
One of the most friendly European countries. From a taxi driver to a elite person of the community, everybody will extend their help if you are in confusion. The police is also very active in the tourist area to keep things secured. Border control is also very active in airports. Most importantly, everything is very close to city center.
Absolutely nothing it was the worst hotel in Sofia. There was no water!!! Then the staff just did the Bulgarian shrug and told me it’s not their problem. They didn’t apologize, they didn’t offer a refund or any kind of compensation. It was traumatic. The manager did not call me although they promised they would. This is a pitiful place and should be shut down. It is a disgrace. Do not book here, you’re better off sleeping in a dumpster than this pile of trash.
All good, location in the center. The receptionist speaks Italian, which was great to communicate. Breakfast included, which is coffee, a croissant and one egg (I would add a Bulgarian yogurt, they are great). Get in touch with the property by booking.com to schedule the check-in, as the receptionist is not always there.
Very Clean , staff were friendly and helpful , easy access and clear instructions for when you arrive, going back to Bulgaria in 6 weeks and definitely staying in the same hotel.
ATM 4 minute walk , City centre within walking distance , shop over the road from Hotel.
Everything you need 🙏
The best hotel in Bulgaria! The rooms are big and modern! Everything is clean and you can really enjoy your stay! Very professional and polite stuff! Each restaurant is spacious with delicious food. Special thanks to Tatyana from the SPA center!
