We took the ride to a family member. This review is purely subjective and based on anecdotes. The place is wonderful. The staff is extremely friendly, there were situations when the help of staff with knowledge of the Bulgarian/Russian language was needed and all issues were resolved. There are no critical points, a clean pool, delicious food, a spa, excellent massage, and the opportunity to purchase the cosmetics you like. After the stories, my wife and I decided that on one of our vacations we would go there to evaluate the quality of the service ourselves. Thank you very much that everything went great and our family member was very impressed

Marina and her husband were the best. They were so helpful and friendly with all of our requests and then some. This was my wife's birthday and they made sure to have flowers in the room, a bottle of wine, and helpful suggestions of where to go and what to do. I chose to give my wife and myself a full body massage which we both agreed was very heavenly.
The room was very large and had a great view of the mountains nearby. The beds were really nice and we were very comfortable.
Now to the breakfasts. Prepare to be amazed at the size and the choices on the menu. All of our choices were amazing in taste and we could not finish our meals. Great value for the best breakfasts we've ever had. Included was coffee, juice, and a Bulgarian yoghurt drink. You could get a normal eggs and bacon breakfast to more traditional Bulgarian breakfasts... all were amazing.

Bansko is a good alternative for skiing when you cannot afford to go in the Alps .
Very good options for accommodation and for eating out in local restaurants.
You need to know that the ques for gondola in the morning can get pretty long and well exceed one hour wait.

Bansko is a city that captures the heart with its stunning...
Bansko is a city that captures the heart with its stunning beauty, effortlessly blending picturesque landscapes with the quaint charm of its streets. However, visitors should be wary of the numerous tourist traps that dot the city, often overshadowing its genuine offerings. Despite this, with a bit of diligence and local insight, one can uncover hidden gems like the small family-run 'mexana' we were fortunate to find. Serving homemade food with warmth and authenticity, it stood out as a beacon of traditional hospitality amidst a sea of commercialized eateries.
On the flip side, the popularity of Bansko's ski slopes comes with its own set of challenges, notably the excessive queues for the gondola lift, which can significantly dampen the skiing experience. Opting for a bus ride to the slopes proved to be a wise decision, bypassing the long wait and leading us directly to the well-maintained pistes. While Bansko offers much in terms of scenic beauty and skiing opportunities, visitors must navigate its less appealing aspects to fully enjoy what this charming city has to offer.

We didn`t know Bansko was so popular with the British 19/ 30 groups so when we arrived (09.00 o`clock in the eving we were shocked by noise and amount of drunken people in the streets and bars. I is like Benidorm in Spain. Bansko is to big for her wintersport facilities so the skilifts were totally overrrun and the lower pistes were way to busy. Up 3 hours waiting time on some days on the gondola. Prices for ski passes, equipment rental etc are really ok . Altough the pistes are nice they were way to busy. Food in restaurants and drinks are way overpriced.
Visiting Pirin River was like coming to visit friends. The staff can't do enough for you, always friendly and happy to go over and above to help you. We booked lessons with Kalo and we would highly recommend you use the instructors in the hotel, he was very patient and kind. The breakfast was amazing, the room very clean and the spa and swimming pool ideal after a long day skiing. Katarina and Yaro, thank you for everything, we can't wait to visit again next year!
This is the best hotel you can stay in Bansko for sure.
The owner is so friendly and positive. Everything was clean to perfection, and i had a really late check in, in a very short time. The rooms are so cute, with everything necesary 👍. I will deffinitelly come back here. Its the perfect locationwith a view from the mauntains, quiet, but not far from ski center. And so good for the price.
Ps: the breakfast was perfect as well so i would recomend it as well.
Best hotel! excellent room and facilities, delicious breakfast.
Location is just amazing -you get out of the hotel and in about 150 meters you are in ski road 1 going down to the gondola. Or if you have a car, just take left and you are on the way to the top station.
The room wad amazing, big, cozy, clean, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room.. Just wow.
The staff was very helpfull and nice.
We enjoyed every minute in the hotel. Recommend it very much!!
The facilities of this hotel are very good: piscina, sauna, restaurant, parking space etc. We had a two bedroom villa with large living room and a nice terrace; the furniture and amenities were high quality. Breakfast at the restaurant had plenty of options to choose from.
Dobrinitshe is a small village close to Bansko (10 mins drive by car) and has the advantage that everything is significantly less expensive: e.g. food, ski equipment rental.
Rooms are clean (though a little dusty on the carpets) and as described at booking - above bulgarian standards! there is a nice ski room - though quite packed in February!
Very nice breakfast for 10 lvs, fruit, bread, sweet and traditional, egg and some form of specialty, way above average when compared to f.eks. a hostel i Switzerland. But only powder coffee. If you wanted one from the espresso mashine it would be another 2 lv.
The hotel was great - it had a great location, next to a lively street and at a convenient distance from the bus station. My room was everything I expected it to be and I was really comfortable during my stay. The food was delicious and the spa center was both convenient and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and assisted me as best as they could. I enjoyed my stay at Vihren Palace quite a bit and I'd recommend it to friends.
We really liked the hospitality and kindness of the staff. They put a lot of effort to meet our needs inside the hotel as well as outside of it (booked us ski instructors, ski equipment storage close to the gondola, warm pools) all at discounted prices. We would definitely recommend the stay to our friends and everyone else who desides to go to Bansko. Will definitely stay again at the Apartments if coming to Bansko again!
The staff were really nice and helpful. The food from the menu was great, we tried the chicken soup, mushroom soup and trout and felt it was the best dinner we ate at Bansko, and all for a great price.
We especially want to point out Onur in the bar for his service and hospitality.
In addition the room we had was very large which gave us a lot of space, something you usually dont get in ski vacations.
We had a very good stay in the hotel during our ski vacation. The rooms were clean, confortable and very warm. The hotel offers free shuttle to the Gondola lift every 30 min. The breakfast was quite good. The water in the swimming pool was warm and we really enjoyed the spa area. The staff was very kind and helpful. Strongly recommended for families. Great value for the money that we paid.
We had a fantastic stay in this property.
it's super cozy.
the breakfast and dinner was like homemade and the variety was changing every single day.
I mean what else can I say - when even in 5 star hotels the breakfast is the same every day..?
Moreover, the hotel has sauna, hamam, jakuzi, a place to store ski equipment and also a free mini buss that takes you to the gondola.
I really enjoyed my stay at Amira Hotel. The staff was great, they helped me on every issue, including surprise for my wife in the room and even paying for the parking ticket I got in Bansko. It is possible to buy a ski pass at the hotel reception (only in cash). This hotel has a very good spa area and a good breakfast.
Very beautiful and quiet hotel.
The hotel has a very good location just 5 min walking distance to Gondola. They have a ski-rent store next to Gondola and you can find the cheapest rental price for ski equipments (has special discount for the hotel guests) Spa and rooms are very clean. Staffs were very gentil, well behaved.Especially the lady in reception desk was very helpful.
We had the most amazing time in the kempinski hotel! The room was super clean and cozy with beautiful mountain view. Wonderful breakfasts and insane dinners in the Come prima restaurant.
Very warm staff and wonderful spa with many facilities. You just can't go wrong by choosing this hotel. Can't wait to return!
Spacious and comfortable room. Very clean overall and very nice staff, especially the cook at the breakfast. The breakfast was by far the best I had in Bulgaria and the spa was what you would expect at a 5 star hotel, but nothing too fancy.
This time nothing at the hotel! Hypocritically polite staff when you pay the bill but totally absent when you need their help or a problem occurs. I guess they are simply understaffed but still pretend to be a 4 star resort.
The hospitality was great, the food was delicious, the facilities were the best we've used at a premium SPA hotel in Bulgaria. We have already recommended the hotel to our friends and are planning our next stay.
The food was perfect, the hotel staff were helpful and kind, the hotel was just what we expected, close to the ski area so we could get to the gondola within a few minutes walk. I definitely recommend it.
All was good, but the food was excellent! Dinner is themed every night, so you have Italian, Mexican, Bulgarian, etc. nights. Spa is also great and helps recover after a full day of skiing.
