I arrived at 2am so it was great to have the 24hr front desk. Breakfast offerings were good (though not included in the room price…and a bit pricy).

La Paz is a big city with a lot of people and many homes.
La Paz is a big city with a lot of people and many homes. It has a high altitude, recommend altitude pills. The city has varying heights, for instance you are going up and down a mountain to get to the other side of the city. When you are on top you can see the bowl with many many houses. There is a cable car to take you from the bottom of the mountain and one neighborhood to the top of the mountain to another neighborhood. There are several beautiful landscapes in La Paz. Valley of the moon, valley of the souls, etc... There is also a lot of shopping in the city.

An authentic South American large city still evolving.
An authentic South American large city still evolving. Everywhere you go you realized this is not for tourists, this is really a nation which has its own identity and you feel it in everything. If you don't speak Spanish then get ready to learn. People very friendly, and living history everywhere. Leave a day for the 2 hour trip to the jungle area for the La Senda Verde animal rescue area.

La Paz: A 3-day whirlwind!
La Paz: A 3-day whirlwind! Explored history on a city tour, felt the passion of a football match, embraced culture in El Alto markets, conquered fear on Death Road, and soared above in the teleférico. Bolivia's heart revealed in a compact, unforgettable adventure.

La Paz is in a unique situation, surrounded by the Andes.
La Paz is in a unique situation, surrounded by the Andes. Its cable car transport system is both practical and a spectacular treat for tourists. It is far better to use this than to use ground transport; the roads in the city are chaotic. The people are friendly and helpful, there are very good restaurants. From La Paz a traveller has access to amazing places to visit, from Lake Titicaca, at over 4000 metres above sea level, to the Yungas, which form part of the Amazonian basin forest system. You have to be careful to have a heart and blood-pressure check before visiting La Paz, as its altitude can be stressful for anyone with a heart condition. But I have been there on a number of occasions, and find it fascinating. The street life and the many local gifts based on alpaca and llama wool are two special features.

Unique setting of the city with striking views and snow covered Illimany on the background. We had one day and spent it driving cable cars and celebrating St. John in the park.

Phenomenal location, views, space, value, host and size. We used the kitchen a lot. Views of La Paz from all directions is stunning during the day and night. Walking distance to white and Celeste teleferico lines (take the elevator down from Ave Arce). Hipamarket supermarket is only steps away. Ximena, the host, was a pleasure! When we return, we plan to stay there for a month. Bathroom is a bit outdated but was sufficient. And there's a hair dryer and shampoo provided, as well as coffee.
The hotel and room were very pretty. It includes breakfast. they provide laundry services. The food is pretty good. The staff could be friendlier but they work every day so it is understandable but once you start having conversations they get better. I was able to do a early check-in and late check-out for a fee which it was reasonable. When I had to go on early tours, they can provide you with a take-out breakfast (nothing to fancy but it helps). It is centric to La Paz.
everything was amazing! the employers were so attentive and pending, always with an smile ready to help us with everything. the breakfast was delicious and cooked at home (eggs, juice of frutilla and a hot drink (coffe, tea,…))
Doña Rosa and José were the best hostess: we missed some papers in our bus to Uyuni and they accompanied, helped and called in all the process.
If you are going to La Paz, don’t doubt to go to the Anami Hotel.
Hotel Sagarnaga was a great place to stay. Centrally located in the old part of town, the hotel was mere minutes of walking from nearby attractions, cafes and restaurants.
Depending on the room, depended on your view, the hotel also had a great breakfast and an onsite masseuse.
We stayed a number of times during our trip to Bolivia, the rooms were always clean and the staff were exceedingly helpful. I would stay again.
Large rooms and bathroom. Unusually large bed (for three). Quiet. Great views from the windows. Best breakfast in Bolivia. Best tasting fried eggs, big variability of everything, they even had bacon and oats.
Receptionist organised a tour to Chacaltaya for a 100BS per person. As well booked a taxi for a very early morning and taxi was waiting outside as expected.
Probably the best hostel in La Paz. Very comfortable and clean, and not too busy so you might have the whole dorm room to yourself. The breakfast is nice, a bit basic but you can always upgrade it for a few Bolivianos. You can eat on the terrace with a wonderful view of the city. Great laundry service. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful and accommodating.
The stuff was amazing. From the begnning Rosa helped us to organize pick up from the airport as we arrived at 2am, so it was amazing to have someone come. She helped as well with turistic stuff. Additionally Helen was super nice, gave us advises about markets and did amazing breakfast, on our last day she even prepered typical bolivian breakfast. GREAT WOMEN!
The staff was really nice and helped me with everything I asked for. The building is awesome, very well renovated at some time and very tastefully decorated. The location couldn't be better, in the heart of La Paz near the San Francisco church and the the umbrella street where you can buy alot of bolivian handicraft and nice clothes.
The guys at the front desk! I stayed twice, to and fro Bolivia, and I so appreciate all that Alvaro and Luis did for me. This place is hopping and they manage it all with such aplomb.
Oh, and alleluia, breakfast on top sun-drenched floor with good coffee, eggs and finally good bread!
The accomodations are quite simple, so if you're not looking for a boutique hotel, this is the perfect place. The staff was absolutely friendly and helpfull and the variety of tours offered both in La Paz and to other cities made my stay a lot easier and much more pleasureable.
The location in zona sur which may the lowest point in LA Paz. Lot of restaurants near the hotel.Easy for acclimatization .Breakfast is adequate. The receptionist Angel is very friendly and patient. We arrived in early flight and was offered early check in.
Great location, close to center, right next to Witches market. Helpful stuff, speaking English. Comfortable, modern and clean rooms, warm at night (which is not a given in most hotels in Bolivia), hot water both in shower and sink. Very good breakfast.
Amazing place to stay! My favourite in Bolivia! Beautiful hotel with wonderfully decorated rooms, the most comfortable beds and the loveliest staff ever! Breakfast is wonderful too. The family that run it really make it they are so kind and helpful!
it’s pretty amazing. the rooftop dining area is beautiful, the rooms are kept extremely clean and neat, the price is only about $60 and you can get it cheaper if you stay during the week. I would not choose any other hotel if I came back to La Paz
Staff, excellent food in the roof restaurant, I can recommend pailita or fetticia with trout, prices are down, 54 resp., 56 bolivianis. Room spacious 30 m2, large bathroom, wifi strong, in the reception every day Apple and tea complimentary.
For me the best choice in La Paz. Reception super friendly and just perfect service. Chambermaids: as well very kind and even they spoke a bit English. Very kind service as well at the breakfast buffet.
Breakfast was way better than anywhere else in Bolivia, amazing stay, but most of all the staff was the nicest and most helpful I have seen in my travelling. Absolutely deserves all the best ratings.
Location is perfect for travellers, we travelled Bolivia by bus and the station is right out the front. Great view from the rooftop and the food was lovely.
