The location in Sopocachi was great. It is easy for tours or taxis to pick you up right in front of the hotel. There is a mall with a supermarket on the other side of the round about and there are several great coffee shops and restaurants within two or three blocks. There are two Telerifico lines within six blocks; one going up to El Alto for a scenic tour and the other (Celeste) bringing you to the historic center with the main tourist attractions. The area is very safe during the day and also safe at night.
The rooms are spacious and well equipped.
The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. They organized a pickup from the El Alto Bus Terminal as well as an airport drop-off for us upon request.
The included breakfast provides the standard hotel buffet options, but there are much better coffee shops within a short walking distance, such as Typica Cafe.

It was really lovely to walk the streets of the city, although I walked without going in a particular destination. The most interesting thing was the teleferico system, very neat, clean and simple to use, as well as cheap.

I liked the “tourist quarter”, riding the cable cars, Killi Killi viewpoint,
Day trips to Laguna Charquini and Chacaltaya. Eating out, no bad experiences. My hotel was convenient for ATM’s down Main Street, close to tourist quarter where you can test your altitude acclimatisation walking up the braes and call in to one of the many tour agencies to book a trip. I did Tiwanaku tour and suffered from informational overload - the guide gave us so much info I feel I could have passed an examination the next day!

La Paz is a big city with a lot of people and many homes.
La Paz is a big city with a lot of people and many homes. It has a high altitude, recommend altitude pills. The city has varying heights, for instance you are going up and down a mountain to get to the other side of the city. When you are on top you can see the bowl with many many houses. There is a cable car to take you from the bottom of the mountain and one neighborhood to the top of the mountain to another neighborhood. There are several beautiful landscapes in La Paz. Valley of the moon, valley of the souls, etc... There is also a lot of shopping in the city.

An authentic South American large city still evolving.
An authentic South American large city still evolving. Everywhere you go you realized this is not for tourists, this is really a nation which has its own identity and you feel it in everything. If you don't speak Spanish then get ready to learn. People very friendly, and living history everywhere. Leave a day for the 2 hour trip to the jungle area for the La Senda Verde animal rescue area.

La Paz: A 3-day whirlwind!
La Paz: A 3-day whirlwind! Explored history on a city tour, felt the passion of a football match, embraced culture in El Alto markets, conquered fear on Death Road, and soared above in the teleférico. Bolivia's heart revealed in a compact, unforgettable adventure.
A beautiful place in the heart of La Paz. Not direct in the tourist area but close enough to get there in 5 minutes on foot. Also, the bus station is within walking distance. The room was amazing. Spacious, boutiques, big. This old monastery was beautifully renovated and transformed into one of the most beautiful boutique hotels. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and the room you will have it stunning. Next time we come to La Paz we will stay there again.
I stayed as well on the start as end of my trip to Bolivia at hotel sagarnaga.
A great place to stay in La Paz.
The location is very near the (turistic) centre of the city.
As well the manager as the other personel is amazing.
Very friendly people, ready to help you when needed.
Arranging taxi's, advicing, helping out with a local simcard, recommendations and more.
Also early check in and late checkout was no problem.
Hotel Sagarnaga was a great place to stay. Centrally located in the old part of town, the hotel was mere minutes of walking from nearby attractions, cafes and restaurants.
Depending on the room, depended on your view, the hotel also had a great breakfast and an onsite masseuse.
We stayed a number of times during our trip to Bolivia, the rooms were always clean and the staff were exceedingly helpful. I would stay again.
I have stayed at this hotel a total of ten nights off and on coming and going from different points in Bolivia. The staff is wonderful, the food is great, and all around it is a clean and friendly place. Hernan and all the other staff were great in helping me organize rides to and from the airport and helping me out with questions. This is a place that anyone should want to stay in for any length of stay in La Paz!!!
Probably the best hostel in La Paz. Very comfortable and clean, and not too busy so you might have the whole dorm room to yourself. The breakfast is nice, a bit basic but you can always upgrade it for a few Bolivianos. You can eat on the terrace with a wonderful view of the city. Great laundry service. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful and accommodating.
The location is great, especially if you'll stay in the city just for a few days. As it is in La Paz downtown, you'll be near main tourist spots such as Mercado de las Brujas and Calle Sagarnaga.
The breakfast is very good - while enjoying fruits, local bread, and local granola, you can appreciate the view of Iglesia San Francisco.
The hotel and room was clean, modern, and spacious. I like that there was a balcony and the toilets were well designed with good water pressure. Soap dispensers were also provided at the sink which was truly appreciated. My only gripe is that the lift was slow. Regardless, a good hotel to stay in La Paz.
I've visited La Paz, 3 or 4 times already. Each time Bolivian Rooms is consistent. I was given a larger suite for the same price this time, with a bigger spacious bathroom. The staff each time is so kind, helpful and though we are all wearing masks - their eyes are smiling.
It's quiet.
The accomodations are quite simple, so if you're not looking for a boutique hotel, this is the perfect place. The staff was absolutely friendly and helpfull and the variety of tours offered both in La Paz and to other cities made my stay a lot easier and much more pleasureable.
Lots of nice spots to hang out and a welcoming staff makes this a great spot to stay while in La Paz. Despite the busyness all around, it’s easy to just hang out and find refuge here in this interesting building with plants and fresh air all around.
Staff, excellent food in the roof restaurant, I can recommend pailita or fetticia with trout, prices are down, 54 resp., 56 bolivianis. Room spacious 30 m2, large bathroom, wifi strong, in the reception every day Apple and tea complimentary.
Very comfortable room with incredible view. Great staff. Communal kitchen and nice common area. Close to everything, but a bit away from the main tourist area, so super quiet and chill. Perfect place to stay in La Paz
-nice bathroom with hot shower
-restaurant on site
-water refill for 5 bolivianos
-good kitchen
-staff kept everyone well informed about the protests
-ATM and laundry place across the street, supermarket not far away
I really liked that the beds were comfortable and that the Wi-Fi was actually usable. Not fantastic, but usable which is hard to get in Bolivia! Also noteworthy to mention that the view is fantastic on the rooftop.
For me the best choice in La Paz. Reception super friendly and just perfect service. Chambermaids: as well very kind and even they spoke a bit English. Very kind service as well at the breakfast buffet.
The best place to stay in La Paz
Big thank you from Claudia to Sylvana, Marcello, Julio on the desk and Gonzalo in the restaurant and Angel the wonderful cleaner x
You make the hotel great
This was a safe and clean hotel in the middle of La Paz, easy access to different parts of the city, the breakfast was good but the timing wasn't the best.
Stayed one more night for our last day in La Paz. The hostel is centrally located near the witches market and steps away from the purple cable car station.
