The location in Sopocachi was great. It is easy for tours or taxis to pick you up right in front of the hotel. There is a mall with a supermarket on the other side of the round about and there are several great coffee shops and restaurants within two or three blocks. There are two Telerifico lines within six blocks; one going up to El Alto for a scenic tour and the other (Celeste) bringing you to the historic center with the main tourist attractions. The area is very safe during the day and also safe at night.
The rooms are spacious and well equipped.
The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. They organized a pickup from the El Alto Bus Terminal as well as an airport drop-off for us upon request.
The included breakfast provides the standard hotel buffet options, but there are much better coffee shops within a short walking distance, such as Typica Cafe.

I liked the “tourist quarter”, riding the cable cars, Killi Killi viewpoint,
Day trips to Laguna Charquini and Chacaltaya. Eating out, no bad experiences. My hotel was convenient for ATM’s down Main Street, close to tourist quarter where you can test your altitude acclimatisation walking up the braes and call in to one of the many tour agencies to book a trip. I did Tiwanaku tour and suffered from informational overload - the guide gave us so much info I feel I could have passed an examination the next day!

La Paz is a big city with a lot of people and many homes.
La Paz is a big city with a lot of people and many homes. It has a high altitude, recommend altitude pills. The city has varying heights, for instance you are going up and down a mountain to get to the other side of the city. When you are on top you can see the bowl with many many houses. There is a cable car to take you from the bottom of the mountain and one neighborhood to the top of the mountain to another neighborhood. There are several beautiful landscapes in La Paz. Valley of the moon, valley of the souls, etc... There is also a lot of shopping in the city.

An authentic South American large city still evolving.
An authentic South American large city still evolving. Everywhere you go you realized this is not for tourists, this is really a nation which has its own identity and you feel it in everything. If you don't speak Spanish then get ready to learn. People very friendly, and living history everywhere. Leave a day for the 2 hour trip to the jungle area for the La Senda Verde animal rescue area.

La Paz: A 3-day whirlwind!
La Paz: A 3-day whirlwind! Explored history on a city tour, felt the passion of a football match, embraced culture in El Alto markets, conquered fear on Death Road, and soared above in the teleférico. Bolivia's heart revealed in a compact, unforgettable adventure.

La Paz is in a unique situation, surrounded by the Andes.
La Paz is in a unique situation, surrounded by the Andes. Its cable car transport system is both practical and a spectacular treat for tourists. It is far better to use this than to use ground transport; the roads in the city are chaotic. The people are friendly and helpful, there are very good restaurants. From La Paz a traveller has access to amazing places to visit, from Lake Titicaca, at over 4000 metres above sea level, to the Yungas, which form part of the Amazonian basin forest system. You have to be careful to have a heart and blood-pressure check before visiting La Paz, as its altitude can be stressful for anyone with a heart condition. But I have been there on a number of occasions, and find it fascinating. The street life and the many local gifts based on alpaca and llama wool are two special features.
Perfect location for a late arrival into La Paz. My flight landed at 3am, and I had to endure a long immigration and customs process. This hotel was a quick taxi ride from the airport, and the staff quickly checked me into my room. I was not sure what to expect with the low price point and was happily surprised by the cute design and good size room. The staff was even kind enough to bring my breakfast to my room as I slept to the normal breakfast hours. I only requested coffee but was offered a yummy start to the day.
The street is well taken care of, very clean and colorful. People are always taking pictures on that street, so there is a general feeling of happiness. The "Casa" itself is cute and has a cool colonial ambiance. The people working in the hotel were helpful and flexible. We had to leave our luggage in between trips to Huayna Potosi and a short visit to Cochabamba. They allowed us to keep part of our luggage in their storage room. This made it easy to travel, and it felt that it was our home base in Bolivia.
For my only solo travel night on a South American trip, I wanted an affordable spot in a good location with the opportunity to meet some people. I got that and more - the staff were so welcoming, and the people were kind and social. There are daily activities that make it easy to make friends. I especially liked the cocktail mixology class - taught by Rafa - which gave some history on Bolivia’s signature drink and created some fun conversations (and a free drink)! Shout out to Rafa.
Secure, clean, bug free room with a surprisingly big bathroom and an effective heater (freezing at night in Bolivia in August).
Its also a great location right next to a lot of the shops, Witches Market, walkable to the squares and historical buildings.
Good wifi, good staff. They also held my bags for multiple days while on a climbing expedition and felt very safe and nothing got stolen or misplaced.
The hotel is a boutique hotel so it has a super nice decoration and structure.
Our room was super spacious (the staff was kind enough and gave us a room upgrade). It has a good cleaning and a heater for the colder days.
We are traveling by motorcycle and the staff was super kind and let us park the bike inside the hotel at the backyard.
In general is a very good hotel for the Bolívia standards.
The location is perfect. Just in the middle of a quite street where people sold souvenirs.
The shower was excellent with hot water without any restricitons.
The breakfast is fine with lack of proteins but you can ask to cook eggs for additional cost.
The main feature is that the hostel allowed us to leave our bags without additional expenses while we were travelling in Bolivia for two weeks.
The hotel is modern, it is a cheaper but still good option than Casa Grande hotel, which is nearby. It is located in La Paz zona Sur, which is an affluent neighbourhood. Close to the hotel there are many restaurants and bars, it is a safe area to walk around even at night. To reach the city centre of La Paz there is the cable car station (teleferico linea verde) not far away.
Location is excellent. Hotel is amazing. For the long history of the building, it shows in a lot of details of beautiful decorations we don't normally see in present day buildings. I enjoyed and admired of those old artistically carved/decorated wooden doors. I love the hotel. The staff are the best. I will come back to this hotel again if I come back to La Paz.
Breakfast was excellent. the staff was ready to prepare a wonderful omelette or a superb fruit salad.
The hotel is part of an old fransiscan monastery and is full of colonial and bolivian history.
The staff is really welcoming. Since our bus was only departing at night, we are allowed to wait in the hotel.
Good location. Front desk staff and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful, all spoke English. Pool and hot tub were nice and warm. Breakfast had a nice selection of items, better than any other nice hotel we stayed at in Bolivia. Bed was very comfy. Shower was immediately hot and good pressure.
The guys at the front desk! I stayed twice, to and fro Bolivia, and I so appreciate all that Alvaro and Luis did for me. This place is hopping and they manage it all with such aplomb.
Oh, and alleluia, breakfast on top sun-drenched floor with good coffee, eggs and finally good bread!
This hotel was really amazing. The room was nicely designed and well equipped. Breakfast was great for bolivian standards. We loved the fresh fruits and juices. The staff was extremely friendly! They helped us out with absolute everything we needed.
Excellent hotel in nicest part of La Paz. Very reasonably priced for what it offers. All rooms are very large and comfortable, with spectacular views of this amazing city. Staff are efficient and friendly, and the in-house taxis are excellent.
The hotel staff is amazingly friendly and helpful to hotel guests. The breakfast is amazing, and the rooms are well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Naira if you're visiting La Paz, Bolivia!
Extremely clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Reliable good quality room with hot water. Breakfast is delicious and on the eighth floor , overlooking la paz. They also have a taxi service to take you to the airport
Bolivia is the 97th country I have traveled to and I have experienced very few really exceptional hotels. This is one of them, with everything absolutely amazing. You have to stay there in order to believe it. .
Nice rooftop restaurant with an incredible, good lunch for 20 bolivianos and breakfast if you pay 10-15 bolivianos more. very comfy beds with curtains, perfect for a good night sleep.
Great service from the helpful and friendly staff! The location is excellent! Even though the hotel is located in the central area of old La Paz, it was very quiet at night.
