After coming to Belize for vacation for four years, I knew that this was where I wanted to live. I was impressed by the incredible diversity of nature and the kindness of the people. The subtropical climate is better suited for me since I experience allergies in other climates. I am happy and satisfied with my decision to make Belize my home! I certainly do not miss my exhausting job in personnel management. I am looking forward to my new career in hosting guests from all over the world and accommodating them as they experience the beauty of Belize as I have!

Maya Hill is located just off the George Price Highway where it is at the mid-point between the capital city of Belmopan and the twin towns of Santa Elena and San Ignacio in the Cayo District. Its proximity to the highway does not disturb the peace and tranquility of this beautiful property.The property is beautifully laid out with a diverse range of fruit trees and flowering plants. A relaxing ambience awaits our guests where there is a picnic-area, inviting hammocks and a barbeque grill. The guesthouses are well built and are elegantly furnished using locally made furniture and very tastefully and artfully decorated with local crafts. The kitchens are fully equipped with essential items needed to accommodate guests who may wish to prepare meals. There are ceiling fans in each room. In addition, Villa Toucan has three air condition units. Our outdoor shower stall will no doubt be an exhilarating experience for our guests who will also be able to enjoy the sounds of parrots and a wide variety of birds that are a part of the beautiful fauna of Belize. An eight minute walk and our guests will find themselves on the bank of the beautiful Belize River.
Neighborhood info
Being centrally located between Belmopan and the twin towns of Santa Elena and San Ignacio is convenient for shopping or for enjoying the local cuisine. A twenty five minute drive by rental car on the George Price Highway east and our guests can be in Belmopan. Or a twenty five minute drive heading west and they can be in Santa Elena/San Ignacio. Twenty more minutes and they can be at the border where Belize and Guatemala meet. Or, to experience the colourful local cultures of Belize, our guests can take a bus which would be a forty minute drive in either direction. The bus stop is conveniently located at the entrance to the driveway to Maya Hill Road. Conveniently located in close proximity to Maya Hill, are small local restaurants, built in the characteristically rustic style that is found in the villages. The cuisine consists of a wide choice of Belizean and Yucatecan (Mexican) foods. Rice and corn are staple foods that are popular with locals and visitors. These are prepared with fresh and organic ingredients which are mostly home grown in back-yard gardens. Local foods are flavourful and usually highly seasoned or spicy. Hot and spicy is popular among Belizeans!
