Location, staff, lots of character.
Nothing. I would stay there again without question!
the historic hotel and its furniture, the location was decent and so was the breakfast.
parking was a pain, overflow parking arrangements did not work. no fridge in room
Helpful staff. Nice furnishings.
Steps up to hotel....bad yo bring in luggage with back pain. Kept awake by guests taking luggage downstairs during night as no elevator. Very poor breakfast for cost. No thanks.
Bed not realy comftamble
I loved the convenient location. I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to beds. I have an icomfort at home so for me to say the bed was comfortable and so were the pillows is Huge! The staff was excellent! John suggested great places to eat-we could walk to Gastown and check out the shops. The breakfast was way better than expected! Excellent fresh baked baguettes, good coffee, fresh juice and cereal and the best granola I've ever had in my life!!! And included with your stay! Great time, love the place! Will definitely stay at the Victorian Hotel again!
Guests in the room above sounded like a herd of elephants romping across the floor- and a couple of inconsiderate guests decided to drag their suitcases down a couple of flights of steps at 4 AM!
Bed and pillows, very comfy Elegant, clean and simple shared bathrooms Nice bay windows Free wifi, computer and printer use Unique furnishings throughout the whole hotel
Floor layout is a little confusing without arrows to bathrooms, but the staff is very helpful and you figure it out.
Friendly staff Comfy bed Clean room Modern + vintage style
Edgy alleyways nearby
Very comfortable room - lovely large bed and older styler antique furniture. Good location by Gastown for evening restaurants etc and an easy walk into the centre of Vancouver. Good secure parking behind hotel in gated yard.
We had a premium room which was good value and had en-suite facilities. There are lower priced rooms with shared bathrooms, etc.
No WiFi reception on 3rd floor, but we did get a 20 dollar refund to compensate
a small very comfortable room good mattress and excellent bedding modern shared bathroom
breakfast was average but depending your time very crowded
Pretty much everything was great except...
Noise does travel and you will hear the other travellers in the room next to you or in the hallways.
It was nice for once not to be hassled for not having a credit card to check in. The rooms are a great size and very clean and comfortable. Great central location in downtown Vancouver. Pender street is a bit busy but very little noise from inside the hotel. Staff were super friendly.
Breakfast really wasn't much to write home about. Fine for a starving traveller but not very enjoyable.
Location is great.
Terrible ventilation prepare to sweat your bXX off.
What a gem of a hotel. Good location, clean comfortable and friendly staff. The place has charm and personality unlike all the other big chain hotels.
The room was lovely clean and very warm, the bathrooms were also very clean which is great to be able to say as they were shared with other guessed. The staff were very nice and most helpful.
We felt that for bed and very plain and basic breakfast - limited to 7-9am in the morning when on holiday the cost of staying here is far to high. through no fault of the guest house but we had to paid an additional tax on top of are booking fee.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nicely furnished room with comfortable bed. Free breakfast. central location.
Can be VERY noisy on the street outside, even with the windows closed. People like to yell in that neighborhood... So beware if you're a light sleeper/not used to urban neighborhoods. Also, the bathtub clogged while taking a shower.
Clean Value for Money
Breakfast could be better and served until at least 9:30
Loved the location; it was walking distance from both the SkyTrain, as well as, the port of Vancouver and since we were there for a cruise it that was excellent. We were able to walk to the hotel and then walk to the terminal to board our cruise.
Convenient Clean and newly refurbished Helpful staff
Nice beds Clean rooms
No air conditioning Noisy hallways No TV programming list
The room was amazing!
The breakfast room and the available breakfast was very ordinary. This detracted from what otherwise would have been an amazing experience.
Pricey No AC Bathrooms adjacent from room
Had a wonderful time at the Victorian Hotel. The breakfast was really yummy and simple...felt like Europe. Room was bright and clean(must be newly renovated). Nice and close to Roger's Arena, Gastown, shopping and great food. Staff was super friendly too!
What's not to like? Maybe if you like air conditioning...there is none. I didn't mind and it was 32degrees when we were there.
Location was good.
The description of our reserved room was farcical as tiny would have been appropriate. It measured approx 7' x 12', including wash basin, only 3 small drawers storage, and was not acceptable as a double room in a hotel costing 171 CD a night. In addition arrangements for breakfast were comical! Insufficient seating for the number of guests at any one time so that they were having to eat standing up in the reception area and corridors. The quality of the breakfasts was also very poor. An upgrade was requested but was met with a refusal. This was not of a standard that we experienced from booking.com for all our other reservations on our Canadian trip.
The decor, the services, cleanliness and free Wi-Fi.
Noises on the street.
