Great place for a visit. I liked: the panda park, the Dujiangyan Irrigation site and the theatre! Just wonderful to see some traditional Chinese culture things. Opera highlights and fantastic costumes, puppeteers, acrobats, mask-magic etc. I think the Big Buddha is fairly near too - 2 hours away.

My favorite spot was the Tifuan square.
My favorite spot was the Tifuan square. If your not fun of chinese food favorite place to eat will be macdonald and kfc. The streets in Chengdu are well organized so is easy to get around. Fun activity in Chengdu is visiting the panda place.

I made the mistake of visiting Chengdu when it was SNOWING and Wet Snow / Icy Rain drizzling for a few days in January 2024. That kind of (very rare) weather kills everything touristy in Chengdu: Most hotels have no heater. You need to use the AC......after one night's AC blowing, I woke up with a bad cough and developed a bad cold soon afterward. One tip: Ask your hotel for a movable heater for your room: Much better than using the AC.

Sichuan is well worth visiting and Chengdu, the capital, has an interesting history. The people are very friendly and there are plenty of places in and around the city to explore. The metro is excellent and the restaurants plentiful. Wouldn't go to the giant Panda Breeding Base if I visited again - very crowded and in January crowded but very little to see and parts of the centre shut and locked. Although the site is enormous, and it would take at least a day of walking to get around the whole place, there are I believe better and more intimate Panda centres in the area.

Interesting and culturally rich.
Interesting and culturally rich. Clean and technologically advance.
Friendly people and a safe country to visit and walk around.
Very affordable food.
However, everything will be in chinese, the signages, the menu and the language spoken. It was really challenging for non mandarin speakers to communicate there.
Not a place to shop though, cannot compare with Bangkok or Beijing.
The Panda Base is not worth a visit if you want to catch Pandas, because they will be either hiding or sleeping. However, that attractions have many instagram worthy spots to take pictures.
Kwan Chai alley is a must!! with very affordable opera shows.
The hotel room was very clean and spacious and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The stuff was friendly and professional as I arrived around 10pm and the concierge was able to make good recommendations on food to eat. (He noted that we may not be comfortable eating spicy food upon arrival to Chengdu hence he recommended us a restaurant selling 猪蹄汤 which we enjoyed very much, unfortunately we didn’t get his name but we will always remember the good service) also the breakfast was excellent! Will definitely come back here again.
Lovely Chinese style hotel, located on a beautiful traditional street, which seemed unique in Chengdu. Staff all very friendly and always willing to assist, with particular thanks to Frank the manager. Good food at the restaurant located in the delightful courtyard. Comfortable rooms. Great location in the heart of the city centre, easy walking distance to various prime tourist attractions such as the Chinese Opera House and Narrow and Wide Alleys. Would definitely recommend.
The staff speak english and are really helpful. The location is excellent for central Chengdu, the night market for example is 10 minutes walk away. There is an eccentric roof garden, a nice space to hang out!. Lots of top food places literally within a minutes walk. The air conditioning worked well. It is a basic hotel but its clean, tidy and friendly. WE usually stay in either simple places or luxury places and this was a great stay (for 3 nights).
We are really impressive with front desk staff. They were really helpful and showed their initiative to answer any questions from their clients. It was so good to have washing machine service in this hotel after we travelled from different cities. And we loved the Gym facilities . The location was great. It is so close to two different metro lines. Highly recommended. We would love to stay there again once we visiting Chengdu in the future.
Very helpful staff, both during and after our stay. I left something in my room upon checkout and the staff was very helpful to return this item to me. By forwarding it to our hotel in Beijing where we arrived a few days after leaving Chengdu. Can't thank them enough for that service!
By the way, one of the better Chengdu hotpot restaurants (Michelin recommended) is right across the street.
The hotel is very good located next to Dongsi street where there’s nightlife and young people. Down the hotel there’s a market with fresh fruit and a park. I had a problem with the first room they gave me and the staff was efficient and they found a fast solution (only one man speaks English). I was in one individual room and I think the prize is worth it compared to other cities in China.
My husband and I visited Chengdu to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The staff at Ritz Carlton made our stay absolutely fabulous. They have decorated our room with balloons and rose petals.
The service was great, the room was clean, the location is excellent.
The property was tucked away from the street and was beautifully presented, with all modern amenities. The courtyard garden was secluded and calm with pretty plants.
Breakfast was a feast every morning. The staff were helpful and suggested things to do in Chengdu.
We enjoyed many aspects of the hotel. Our special mention of staff goes to:
刘固燕 of breakfast restaurant, and 梁成沙 and 张袭婷 of reception desk. They extended their courtesy and warm reception without our asking and made us felt truly at home.
All staffs there are friendly and so helpfull, many thanks to them especially Damon whom has been so kind and very helpfull to us. Thankyou Damon. In the future, if i'm going to Chengdu, i will stay in lazybones/sonderia hostel again.
Nice enough hotel, nice lobby, big spacious room with nice desk for working. Everything worked fine (wifi, water / shower, etc.) A not-to-far walk to the wine fair events taking place in hotels nearby.
This hotel nearly ruined my experience in Chengdu. This property is terrible and owner was extremely rude. I quickly found another hotel because conditions were so bad at this hotel. Don’t come here!
Not so close to the city center, but very close to one of the airports in Chengdu. Room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Good breakfast. Very good cost-benefit aspect!
Location is conveniently central to all Chengdu has to offer, room is chic and stylish, and the bathrobe is so comfortable I was thinking about buying one from hotel
