A good location in downtown Turrialba. The staff were helpful and friendly and we made use of the outdoor common areas - a backyard garden and a rooftop deck. We liked the clean kitchen. The property is somewhat idiosyncratic, about half-way between a hotel and a hostel. I think they were transitioning to a hotel during our visit. We, a couple, had a dorm room with two bunk beds and a private bath across the hall; a bit unusual but the facilities were fine.

The best 2 days of my week vacation in Costa Rica. If you go with the mindset of adventure, disconnection from internet, camping style you will have a blast. This is a team of guys that do everything for you. They drive you , they cook , by the way excellent typical food, they are your rafting and adventures guides , the photographer, they eat with you and tell you stories and history of the place , the fauna , and flora etc, The experience is amazing ! Arturo , Fernando Negro and Jesus Andres were the best. Thanks for an amazing 2days

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Only breakfast on site but they ordered and picked up dinner food at a local restaurant for us. 30 min drive from Guayabo national monument. Great view from our deck, saw a keel billed toucan from the deck in the morning.

Location is great. And the property is amazing, lots of nature, trees and birds, it was lovely yo wake up to the birds chirping in the morning.

We did a tour to the cheesemaking farm Herencia, high up on the slope of the volcano. Getting there via Google maps was a bit tedious but on the way back we got better directions - via Santa Cruz and Torito. The tour is a great experience! On the way back we visited the national monument at Guayabo.
We also tried to reach the Aquiares waterfall, but this is a bit difficult to find and we did not get there in time, had to turn back. The last stretch is climbing over big boulders along the riverbed.
The hotel was easy to find with a large sign so it was a welcome respite for us after our red-eye flight. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The property is in a beautiful location on the hillside above Turrialba and our room opened up to a deck overlooking the valley. In the morning, we were served a wonderful breakfast of items grown in their garden and eggs from their hens (included in the price of the room). The owner was welcoming and accommodating of our every need and I just wish that we could have stayed longer!

We had a lovely stay at Bella Vista Ecolodge. The Owners Mark and Annabelle were very friendly and happy to stop for a chat, their Management team - Marvin and Virian were excellent. They made us delicious breakfasts and dinners each day, organised a fantastic rafting tour for us and kept us entertained with great conversations, gave lots of info about the surrounding areas - places to visit, culture, history etc... The lodge itself was beautiful, rustic and spacious, with huge windows to capture the breathtaking panoramic views!!
Hotel Rivel is situated in a quiet spot at the end of a 4km trail. The River Tuis runs next to the cabins with a beautiful cascade. It was great swimming here as you could swim against the current. When you were tired the cascade gave you a tremendous back massage.
The campfires in the evening were great. The meals were also really good, as we were the only visitors the first 3 nights it was like having our own chef to cater for us. The hygiene in the kitchen was top.
We love coming to Casa Turire - whether it's for lunch, overnight, or coffee and the amazing desserts (the Sugar Cane Elado is incredible and an original by the chef!). The building has lots of areas to explore, relax, read from, or work from, and our room had a balcony which was gorgeous in the morning. The grounds are gorgeous with trails and beautiful views. The staff were fantastic, and I booked in for a massage which was heavenly, too.
The grounds are beautiful with great views. This place has so much potential, and the staff/owners are very kind and accommodating. It seemed like the hotel had recently changed hands, and they were still still trying to figure things out/renovate. If the room was cleaner, the mattress and bed frame were replaced, and there was a desk (and ideally a mini fridge), I would stay here again.
Beautiful location on the hillside overlooking the valley. There were so many birds there. The beds were quite comfortable. The temperatures were quite comfortable even though it was fairly warm at lower elevations, There was a restaurant there for dinner if you wanted one. About 10 minutes away from the town of Turrialba but much quieter.
Mark and Annabelle are very nice people and they are very kind and helpful. It was a beautiful, quiet, private spot with many birds. Also, so hot and humid as the coastal areas. The dinners were filling, reasonable, and delicious. Also, if you want to go rafting on the Pacuare River or hike up Turrialba Volcano it would be a great place to stay.
Wonderful owners, kind reception. Interesting rustic hotel built by the owner. lots of wood, our room was large, wonderful views, nice little restaurant ( even though we arrived late the owners wife rustled up an amazing chicken and rice dish ). We really enjoyed chatting with them after dinner.
nice free standing cabina in a amazingly beautifull botanic garden full of colourfull plants and birds.
great hideaway to explore turralbia and its great surroundings by rafting, hiking, biking etc.
Very friendly and helpfull owners.
traditional costa rican breakfast was also really nice.
This place is a must if once you visit Costa Rica. To be honest the veune its perfect, the view, feeling of being alone in the Mountain... cannot find word to discribe such a beautiful place. Just thank for sharing this paradise 🥰
A beautiful, traditional house in the middle of the Aquiares coffee plantation. A relaxing place to stay with beautiful gardens, wonderful staff and easy access to the nearby activities -including the coffee tour which was great!
