The staff was very helpful and close to some good restaurants. The quirkiness of the hotel. Quiet and peaceful, easy going.

Beautiful, quiet location on Lake Arenal. Loved the gorgeous views of the jungle and the sights and sounds of all the birds and animals around the hotel. Hosts Simon and Jo were incredibly charming, warm and generous, and gave some great recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. And their wonderful dogs really made the stay feel like home. I was very sorry to leave!

This place was so beautiful. The property is amazing, so you will have the most amazing views while you have your breakfast. Our room was very cute and clean. We did not realize that there would be a little kitchen in the suite, so that was a great surprise. It was super well equipped. We honestly wished we could have stayed longer.
The breakfast was delicious and the hosts were so king. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the small lake on the property. There are also many bird feeders, so you get to watch the hummingbirds while you eat. There is a beautiful gallery as well with lots to see!

Everything! Great breakfast included, very helpful and courteous hosts, provided any and all information we needed during our stay. Our room was exceptional with a spacious balcony overlooking the rainforest. Felt like being in a treehouse with birds galore.

A recently renovated vacation home, Arenal Vistas del Paraiso offers accommodations in Nuevo Arenal. This property offers access to a patio, free private parking, and free Wifi.
Not convenient for La Fortuna. It was a 20 min windy road drive each way. Nuevo Arenal was really noisy with dirt bikes and cars driving through. City has little to offer as far as food and entertainment.

The town is beautiful and located in a beautiful lush area. There are cute little restaurants and sodas. The locals were very friendly. My only complaint would be that the restaurants and stores etc close too early. It was hard finding something to eat/drink later in the evening

No power in the room the morning of our departure and no return call. Wine undrinkable. Bunk bed not for adults. Mattress very thin. One person cooking and cashiering for restaurant. Hope everything works because no one is coming. Claimed power outage but noticed it only affected our 2 units. Wiring looked suspect in our room.

The road between Nuevo Arenal and the Arenal Volcano is gorgeous, true jungle scenery complete with lovely views and roadside animal encounters. The resort is 8 miles from town, but shares space with two other dining establishments as well as a quick shop for essentials. Spend a week, sign-up for some outdoor adventures, especially by visiting the Arenal Observatory Park and the Mystico Hanging Bridges naturalist tour. You'll have truly lived the Monteverde experience!

The area is beautiful with mountain and lake views. People are very friendly. There are many great restaurants and eating spots to enjoy, including a brewery/restaurant on the lake. We would love to go back. You need to have a car to see this area of Costa Rica. Getting around was easy - the main roads are good, but the side roads are rough. We did take some drives into the "country", and saw some interesting areas and also great views. The climate was very comfortable - mostly in the 70's deg. F. We didn't near air conditioning in our rooms.

Our accommodation at Agua Inn was excellent - great hosts, wonderful breakfasts. We ate at several local restaurants and enjoyed some great meals, including the local Costa Rica style tacos. Favourite places were The Gingerbread House restaurant, Moya's Place in Nuevo Arenal, and Lake Arenal Hotel and Brewery on the other side of the lake at Tilaran, where we ate lunch and tasted their beer and cocktails, Le Bistro at Hotel La Mansion on Rd 142, where we celebrated my husband's birthday - wonderful view of the lake from there. There are so many more good places to eat and enjoy a view - too many to list here. On one of our outings, we took the coffee and cocoa tour at Don Juan Tours, Monteverde. Four of us had our own tour guide, who was most excellent, and he led us through the gardens, demonstrated how to grind coffee beans and we drank the coffee. Each of us actually made our own chocolate, following his instructions from grinding the cocoa beans, to mixing in other ingredients to our liking. We also had hot cocoa. So fresh! They have a nice store there as well where you can purchase coffee beans and other souvenirs. I purchased the Peaberry Coffee Beans which are 100% pure coffee Arabica Costa Rican and some pottery espresso cups, just like the ones we were served coffee in during the tour. You definitely should rent a car if you are travelling to this area of Costa Rica - there is so much to see and do while there. It's easy to get around - the main roads are paved, but you can certainly find some very rough roads if you venture into the countryside, which we did, travelling up and down and around the mountains, taking in the full flavour of the area.
This is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for relaxation. We woke up early and saw many species of birds with spectacular views of Lake Arenal. Loved the infinity pool and hot tub (although people with kids could be very loud and disruptive of the other guests trying to enjoy the pool). The breakfast was outstanding and there are several cute little bars and restaurants close-by. Our room was very spacious and clean. The hotel bar had some really tasty local craft beer on tap.
The location was just a short drive (3-5 minutes) from Nuevo Arenal town which had a great selection of restaurants and cafes. As the Inn was just outside of town, we had a peaceful location to relax and sleep T - any traffic noise was covered from the stream running through the site. The grounds of the Inn were spectacular and very well maintained. Trent and the team were amazing hosts and the in-house animals were friendly and fun. Breakfasts were great.
We chose this hotel mainly because it is pet friendly and we travel with our dog a lot. It’s perfect for pets as it has a dog park right in front of the hotel, a pet shop around the corner, and they even gave us a dog bowl, bed and treats. Not only that but the kitchenette is great, beds are super comfy, and overall it was a great day. Good supermarket(vindi)round the corner, chemist, salon, restaurant all in walking distance. 100% recomendado!
Carlos and Werner are exceptional, warm and helpful hosts! We’d spent 3 nights in Nuevo Arenal, Werner and Carlos provided us with a lot of informative tips on activities - thank you again! The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the communication with the hosts was quick and efficient. PLUS Carlos is a passionate cook and we had THE best breakfast in Costa Rica! We would love to come back some day!

Everything was just perfect!
Spotless clean room with homey touch, the best shower we had in Costa Rica, fabulous breakfast, lots of beautiful birds to watch including Toucan!
But the best of all was the hosts, Carlos and Warner. They gave us warm welcome, helped us with dinner options and such, just perfect level of friendliness that made our stay so comfortable and enjoyable.
We absolutely loved our 3 days/nights at the Gingerbread Restaurant and Hotel. Eyal is an amazing chef and his staff were all fantastic. Breakfast, dinner, drinks, and desert were all fabulous. We stayed in the Garden of Eden cottage/room. It was clean, comfy, and unique. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Costa Rica.
Marita and her husband are the kindest people, took really good care of us, asked which breakfast preferences we have and we had very good local and austrian (!) breakfast!!!
The terrace and the garden is wonderful and the location is near restaurants and lake and you even have 2(!) really really good Italien Restaurants in Nuevo Arenal !
The Location of this hotel is just wonderful. It is a bit in the middle of nowhere, but you can reach Nuevo Arenal within a few minutes by car. It is very calm there and taking a swim with all those beautiful plants around is very cool.
Breakfast on the balcony is also a little highlight, it was tasty and the view is stunning.
Our stay in this hotel was amazing. The rooms were beyond our expectations. Everything was there from restaurant to swimming pool and even a hot pool. The surroundings were awesome. The restaurant very good and for those who want to eat a little cheaper there were restaurants in walking distance. The lake view was fantastic.
The tropical garden at the bed and breakfast is delightful. We enjoyed Marita's wonderful breakfast as we gazed over beautiful foliage and bird-watched. The hosts gave excellent suggestions about area activities and provided a very helpful map. Watching the sunset from the nearby lake park was terrific.
The property was charming, with lots of birds, animals and insects - including fireflies! One of the hosts (Rob) was super friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient to La Fortuna, Rio Celeste and near some beautiful views of Lake Arenal. Drive to the property was so scenic!
Excellent budget hotel! Clean and spacious room, fantastic views, nice veranda, all blissfully quiet. Friendly and helpful service and lovely breakfast.
