A good location in downtown Turrialba. The staff were helpful and friendly and we made use of the outdoor common areas - a backyard garden and a rooftop deck. We liked the clean kitchen. The property is somewhat idiosyncratic, about half-way between a hotel and a hostel. I think they were transitioning to a hotel during our visit. We, a couple, had a dorm room with two bunk beds and a private bath across the hall; a bit unusual but the facilities were fine.

The best 2 days of my week vacation in Costa Rica. If you go with the mindset of adventure, disconnection from internet, camping style you will have a blast. This is a team of guys that do everything for you. They drive you , they cook , by the way excellent typical food, they are your rafting and adventures guides , the photographer, they eat with you and tell you stories and history of the place , the fauna , and flora etc, The experience is amazing ! Arturo , Fernando Negro and Jesus Andres were the best. Thanks for an amazing 2days

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Only breakfast on site but they ordered and picked up dinner food at a local restaurant for us. 30 min drive from Guayabo national monument. Great view from our deck, saw a keel billed toucan from the deck in the morning.

The lady owner was very nice and happy to accommodate me with an early breakfast everyday. A bit far walking from Turrialba city center. Basic and small room but has everything one needs for sleep and shower. Internet was good.

We did a tour to the cheesemaking farm Herencia, high up on the slope of the volcano. Getting there via Google maps was a bit tedious but on the way back we got better directions - via Santa Cruz and Torito. The tour is a great experience! On the way back we visited the national monument at Guayabo.
We also tried to reach the Aquiares waterfall, but this is a bit difficult to find and we did not get there in time, had to turn back. The last stretch is climbing over big boulders along the riverbed.
The hotel was easy to find with a large sign so it was a welcome respite for us after our red-eye flight. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The property is in a beautiful location on the hillside above Turrialba and our room opened up to a deck overlooking the valley. In the morning, we were served a wonderful breakfast of items grown in their garden and eggs from their hens (included in the price of the room). The owner was welcoming and accommodating of our every need and I just wish that we could have stayed longer!
Casa Turire is a real hotel, not a lodge, in Hacienda style, located in beautiful surroundings, so that you can perfectly relax. The hotel itself is also nice, rooms are big, the staff is super friendly. Anyhow the place gives the impression that it has seen better times which is a pity because of its beauty. A little bit of refurbishment would do very well. Especially when you consider that it is at the upper price end for accommodation in Costa Rica.
Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay there.
This place was wonderful and way beyond my expectations. Moe, the night time host, was incredibly helpful with everything... Restaurants, rafting, even trying to get my cracked cell phone screen fixed.
If you are considering coming to Turrialba, it is a very nice town and you would be well served to give Casa de Lis your business.
Also, travel the Pacuare with Ticos River Adventures. Roberto runs a business that takes service safety and fun to a 200% level. Cannot recommend it enough.
The hotel is really nice and clean in a very quiet place, the breakfast is simple but ok, however the rafting activity was not at all what we could have expected, they do not select the participants (you are supposed to be in shape to do 5hours of rafting) and they prefer to fill the boat with a maximum of people even when the river is very low. To compensate the inactivity of the person whom randomly decided to
Maybe we were not lucky for the day but we didn’t enjoy it that much.
Location! Location! Location! I loved being able to connect with nature at every turn. Beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails to explore. Absolutely marvelous views. Very cozy cabins. My favorite place to hang out was at the beautiful natural pool with a waterfall. You just can't find that on a resort! If you're looking for a one of a kind adventure in the beautiful mountainous landscape of Costa Rica, this is your spot. Definitely visiting again in the near future. Pura Vida!!
Everything was nice. The room was good. Although a month earlier our trip changed a bit and we asked to stay one more night they said it was OK and that we didn't need to book it, however when we got there at 20h they told us they couldn't have us the other night so we had to book a hotel in a rush which was not OK, they should have let us know earlier.
The breakfast could be a bit better but good price for money.
It's typically the king of place where you have this special holiday feeling, where nothing can happen. So peaceful.
The place is incredible with one of the most beautiful view I had in Costa Rica.
The lodge is like a small studio, you have everything you need to cook, relax, WiFi, warm water.
Our hosts were extremely kind and took care of us.
We regret that we had 1 night only
Gorgeous. The lodge is located high up with a splendid 360° view. We had a large, fully equipped house. There is a restaurant part of the complex with fabulous dishes. I haven't eaten better meat in my entire stay in Costa Rica. Marc and his wife are exceptional and adorable people. We really have very good memories of this meeting. I will miss you Marc 😀
Breakfast with a view of a bird feeder in the garden was amazing. We saw tucans, hummingbirds, oropendola and many many more. Super friendly owner took time to chat - providing me lots of practice for my Spanish skills. Great walk to the waterfalls from the lodge - do take a walking stick and a picture of the map of the trail to get there - and a bathing suit!
The view of the volcano was wonderful, the meals were authentic, but most importantly, the staff (aka owners) were the most hospitable people a guest could hope for. They assisted in arranging transportation and our recreational activities, neither of which disappointed. The location is very secluded, intimate, and relaxed. Exactly what we were hoping for!
Amazing, definitely something we had never done before. A small cabin surrounded by beautiful nature and next to a beautiful river. The breakfast and dinner was wonderful as well. Some great activities on offer too. We went horse riding for the first time and it was beautiful.
We recommend a 4x4 even though the road has recently improved.
Location is good, around Turrialba there are many things to do and the staff can organise trips. We asked for a cheese tour, which was not on their list, but they sorted it ou for us. The hotel is very nice, with a roof terrace and a backyard, and a noce seating area near the reception with 24/7 coffee and tea facility.
Cabanas is situated in a particularly nice part of Costa Rica, close enough to the Monumento Nacional, a few water falls, the Turrialba and Irazu volcanoes and the town of Turrialba itself. The area is secluded and relatively quiet. The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our cabin had good wi-fi.
Wonderful owners, kind reception. Interesting rustic hotel built by the owner. lots of wood, our room was large, wonderful views, nice little restaurant ( even though we arrived late the owners wife rustled up an amazing chicken and rice dish ). We really enjoyed chatting with them after dinner.
nice free standing cabina in a amazingly beautifull botanic garden full of colourfull plants and birds.
great hideaway to explore turralbia and its great surroundings by rafting, hiking, biking etc.
Very friendly and helpfull owners.
traditional costa rican breakfast was also really nice.
Comfortable bed in a room with basic furniture. The view on the terrasse is great and the host is very attentive and helpful.
Great Costa Rican breakfast with homemade bread, marmalade, everything freshly prepared. Nice cool mountain air and no mosquitos.
The lady owner was very nice and happy to accommodate me with an early breakfast everyday. A bit far walking from Turrialba city center. Basic and small room but has everything one needs for sleep and shower. Internet was good.
It was clean and spacious in the room. Very peaceful and quiet property. The hotel owners were friendly and hospitable, and made a delicious and fresh breakfast!
