Founded by the Romans in 38 BC and idyllically located on the Rhine River, Cologne offers the perfect blend of historical and modern Germany. There’s no place more picturesque to drink a Kolsch beer and eat a schnitzel than on the banks of the River Rhine. Here you’ll find the Altstad, or Old Town, with the impressive Cologne Dom on the skyline.

Cologne (Koeln) is a great city with many things to do.
Cologne (Koeln) is a great city with many things to do. Most impressive is the cathedral (Dom) and all the other medieval structures throughout the city center. If you want to try a really delicious kebab (Döner) go to one of the 15 mangal Döner X Lukas Podolski.

Even on a Thursday, Köln had a really relaxed, accessible atomosphere and lots to do within a relatively small space. We were only there one night & never further than a kilometre from our accommodation but still got to shop, see the river, climb the cathedral towers, visit a museum, enjoy music along the river. It seems like a great place, I definitely ant to go back to visit the chocolate museum at least!

Wonderful city for a city trip.
Wonderful city for a city trip. Visit the tourist info for all the latest. Take a tour through the cathedral. A brother from the Catholic church guided us through the Dom, which was very interesting. Also visit Brühl from Cologne (30 minute trip) if you have the chance for Unesco Heritage site. Visit the Ludwig Museum. There are plenty of those. Lovely inner city, great shopping destination. What's not to like?

The cathedral is well worth a visit.
The cathedral is well worth a visit. There are many museums in a very small area of the city, covering a range of different topics and interests. It’s a lovely city to walk around, and it feels safe. A great place for a short break, and we found the local people to be very friendly. Lots of lovely places to sit outside and have coffee and cakes. The Kolsch beer is great, served in small glasses and perfect after city walking.

We stayed a week in our Hotel was ideal situated, as it was few minutes from the station and perfect walking distance to all of Cologne. There is a lot to see and do here, plenty of restaurants, bars, shopping, museums, church's, boat trips and lots of walking. There's a tour bus that you can hop on and off at any stop, we use it to go to the zoo. There a cable car. We also visited the Chocolate Museum, Cafe and Ferries Wheel. Nice long walks along the Rhine. We took a boat Trip to Bonn and a train to Dusseldolf.

The city of Cologne is amazing when you love to see old buildings mixed with good shopping and great food and drinks. We went to very many places, but there are so many more that we have to visit! Everywhere you go you will find something new and exciting! It is a great place to go for a few days. When you use the metro you can go anywhere in the city within minutes for a decent price.
The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Cologne. It is located adjacent to MacD, so a quick bite is always possible. The hotel in addition to breakfast has a facility to order Pizza till 11.00 at night. They also have a moderately stocked bar. There are two types of parking, if you are early or lucky enough, you can park for free which is limited in number. The paid parking space is large and can accommodate over 25 vehicles at a time. I managed to get a free parking spot on all three days.
Excellent location close to station. Room was comfortable. Small hotel where staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a very good selection of fresh bread, cheeses, meats etc. We would come back when in Cologne. There is a bakery close by and the old town and key sights are walkable. We used the 9 euro deutsche bahn pass for July to get across the city (and used to get around using local trains in other parts of Germany) to a meal at Pottkind which we can also recommend.
Thehotel is a five minute walk from the main station at Cologne. Even with a wheely suitcase, its not a disaster. Train was delayed so arriving at the hotel was also delayed. Reception staff were friend and warm and given it was nearly 11 oçlock at night tried their best to make the process as short and simple as possible so I could get to my room. I was offered an upgrade fee of charge which was large and spacious.
Not stayed there for breakfast yet.
The whole hotel felt very fresh and new. Definitly the best Ibis I have stayed on.
I choose this location outside Cologne to have better parking options compared to an hotel inside the city. The parking space was big, for free and close (just outside) the hotel.
Beds and the rooms in general was fine! Ventilation and AC was really good which is not always the case in Germany!
The hotel bar had good beer options as well as good snacks.
This hotel has accommodating staff. The location is just next to the railway station and Cologne Cathedral.
The breakfast was good ( not great, though). One advantage is that the breakfast goes till 12.
There was an issue with the water drain malfunction. When we informed them, they immediately organized a team to fix it. We lost few hours in the morning and they compensated it by extending our checkout to 3 PM.
Very nice hotel with a personal touch, very nice staff in the reception. Helpful with good practical tips. Good breakfast and the location is great. The room was good but the bed was a bit worn and I could feel a dip in the middle of the bed. Now I am working with beds and have very strict ideas about how a bed should feel.
For sure I will try to book same hotel next time I visit Cologne :)
Fabulous location a couple of minutes from the cathedral and about five minutes from the main railway station. Extremely comfortable room, great shower, friendly staff and an exceptional level of cleanliness. Very highly recommended for great value accommodation in the heart of Cologne. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but it did look really good.
All in all, it was the perfect hotel for a weekend stay in Cologne. The room was very clean and comfortable. I really liked the bathroom!
I can't really rate the staff since there is nearly none - you have to do the check-in yourself. However, instructions are easy and very clear, we had no problems with that. We will come back!
Hotel is close to the main train station as well as a number of sights and attractions in the Cologne Old Town area. Very large and clean room with great air conditioning, bed and bathroom. Also appreciated ice machines on each floor given the 93 deg. F weather in July. Super friendly and helpful staff.
Close to the airport. If You are arriving to Cologne late or You have an early flight, Moxy is best option. Hotel is connected to town center (4 stations) and KoelnMesse fair (3 stations) with S19 train with station across the hotel. You don't need a taxi. 24h front desk (on 5th floor).
Hotel is on Cologne Main Station concourse so ideal for someone arriving into Cologne very late at night or leaving early. Due to train problems in Germany I arrived very late so spent very little time there, but check-in was 24/7 and easy enough, and my room was clean.
It was a nice hotel, the room was very cozy and we had all the essentials for a pleasent stay. I could even borrow a phone-charger from the staff. The hotel is very well located, only 10-15min walk away (crossing the river) from the main station in Cologne.
Perfect stay for our porpoise, easy public transportation to Cologne Center and Airport. The staff was really nice at check in and during our stay, good breakfast, clean rooms, restaurant and supermarket very close by, I recommend to stay at this hotel
Straight forward what you see is what you get hotel. superb location for those who need to be in that area of cologne and access to a parking garage next door. Good breakfast and clean rooms, although somewhat outdated.
The property was located directly in the city centre of cologne so it is very comfortable to reach nearby attractions, bars and cafés.
The hotels staff is very friendly and outgoing.
Quiet location near the main train station in Cologne. Everything was clean and well maintained. Hotel had an elevator which was useful when transporting luggage.
We booked this hotel simply for convenience of the location , and location is the best part of the hotel, in easy walking distance to the Dom and downtown Cologne.
