A stay here will give you a modernized taste of colonial Latin American luxury. Gorgeous throughout - almost like staying in a museum. The staff is amazing, and breakfast is wonderful and plentiful. Rodrigo at the front desk is exceptionally attentive. The hotel is near many of the great restaurants and shopping areas in the city.

I had a guide for hikes around Chimborazo. I was coming from sea level, so I was limited to less than 4000m for the first couple of days (and some people experience altitude symptoms at less than that). If I had stayed longer I could have done a couple interesting hikes on Chimborazo itself - I was fine after two days here.

Come to Riobamba if you want to climb/bike on Mt.
Come to Riobamba if you want to climb/bike on Mt. Chimborazo and/or visit the markets on Saturday. The downtown is interesting, worth a few hours, but does not cater to tourists. It is a city for Ecuadorians living their lives. The markets on Saturday are amazing. They are some of the most authentic, local markets we've visited. Very little for tourists, just real stuff for real Ecuadorians. If you are interested in climbing the mountain plan on time to get use to the altitude. Riobamba is a good base camp for a few days to begin this process.

I only wanted a bed for the night to break up a long bus trip, so didn't get to see much of the town at all. I'd like to have explored the architecture, and of course the mountains around the town are very impressive.

I enjoyed my stay in Riobamba.
I enjoyed my stay in Riobamba. Closed train station was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! Visiting local cemetery was really something! I am writing this comment on my laptop and photos are on my phone but if you want to know more about Riobamba check my channel (Rootsless) on You Tube. Don't forget to like my channel. Thank you.

Riobamba is a good stepping off place to visit other small towns in the region. Sadly, all the churches were closed when I was there during the week I visited. This was disappointing. The city is very walkable and should you need a taxi or bus they are everywhere.

Riobamba is an attractive city that did not seem touristy.
Riobamba is an attractive city that did not seem touristy. We were very comfortable walking about downtown. The empanadas we had from a local restaurant were excellent and very inexpensive. Transportation was very easy, as taxis are everywhere and very cheap. I wouldn’t spend a week here, but we enjoyed it for a day or two, and it makes a great base for day trips in the High Sierra.
What makes this place is really the attention and friendliness of the owner Irma. She will answer all your questions and provide good suggestions for visiting. She can also help you organize your of the Chimborazo. She is extremely responsive and friendly. The house is nice and comfortable. The wifi is excellent and the breakfast is copious and delicious.
The casa is a 10-15 min walk from the centre Riobamba. This was not a problem for us as we like the walk and felt very safe. I just thought it should be mentioned.
safe place in Riobamba, Cecilia and her husband are great hosts. we had great conversations about art and Ecuador. Cecilia gave us some insider tips for places to visit and where to eat around Riobamba . excellent breakfast included in the price and we could use the kitchen to prepare our dinner as well.
big parking spot for those who travel by car. hot water in the shower and good wifi. adorable two dogs (that stay outside the hostel) . we felt like at home and recommend the place 100%.
Very comfortable and immaculately clean small hotel on a quiet street. All the staff were super friendly and worked very hard to make sure we had a great stay. Special mention to Luis in this respect. There is a cafe/restaurant which served an excellent steak, followed by a very good apple cake. Breakfast was fine with omlette and toasties on offer with good coffee. Secure parking is available at another property nearby,, and a lift was available to and from there.
Its a fantastic place near by the Chimborazo Volcano and horse riding trip to hacienda cubillin i can only congratulate because its an awesome experience! The hotel and its staff excellent! Even when an event was going on at the weekend the volume was shut down at 19:00 great! Fireplaces in the rooms made our day when we came back from the horse riding tour i really recommend!!!! We will come back!!!! Great Spot!!!!!
An absolute haven. A little way out of town with gorgeous gardens, including a donkey. The room was huge and had super comfy beds. We ate lunch and dinner there as well as breakfast because the food was so good. And every single member of staff was lovely but special shout out to our waiter with the excellent English. He really looked after us. Best hotel we've stayed at in Ecuador.
The style of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. They had parking available about 2 blocks away which was perfect. The location was directly down the street from one of the popular parks of Riobamba and we were able to get everywhere we needed to go with ease. The room was clean and comfortable and easily fit our family of four. I would highly recommend!!
The building itself is one of the most beautiful hostels I’ve ever stayed in. The family who runs the hostel is extremely kind and helpful.
You don’t just get a twin sized bed, but a full size with two pillows, clean sheets, a clean towel. Every bathroom is stocked and clean.
Incredibly impressed, and I will be visiting again! Thank you!
The hotel was 5 minutes from the bus station, 2 blocks from breakfast and almuerzo restaurants, 2 blocks from bank ATM'S and 2 blocks from the main street into the historical area. We found the full sized bed to be comfortable and the shower had good pressure . They had water, beer and snacks available to buy.
Irma was a great host! Could't imagine there's a better place to stay if you're in Riobamba! Clean room, very comfortable bed, cosy commom spaces, good showers, nice breakfast, everything was excellent! Irma's tips on food and Activities in and around the city ensured I had a great time inRiobamba!
We had a lovely room and lashes if hot water which after days at hotels where caliente meant lukewarm was absolutely brilliant. The hotel is far away from anything that would cause too much noise so we had a great night's sleep. The breakfast was OK. The parking worked fine.
Excellent service was provided by Gerardo. We felt extremely comfortable and safe at this hotel. The rooms are clean. The hotel is beautiful with a nice lobby to sit in. The breakfast is abundant with finely sliced fruit, juice, coffee or tea, bread, eggs and yogurt.
Vanesa and David are very sweet people, extremely helpful in every aspect and go out of their way to make you feel like you’re at home. Free breakfast is also a plus! Close to all the amenities of riobamba, but also far enough away that you’re never bothered by noise.
I arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and couldn't find a travel agency to Chimborazo volcano the next day. The hotel staff was very helpful and made many calls to help me have a wonderful trip to Chimborazo volcano the next day. Really appreciate their kind help.
It was a true pleasure staying with Santi and his wife. Felt like a home away from home. Great base to explore the surrounding mountains. Very nice boutique hotel. Well done and keep on striving for perfection and continuous improvement 👍🏻
Very good situated.
Clean hotel and room.
Good breakfast in the restaurant, unfortunately only from 8-10 am, but while arriving earlier we got really nice breakfast package for take away!
Helpful, English speaking staff.
