Valencia is a beautiful city with stunning views, history restaurants and bars. I felt completely safe walking travelling alone and staying for four days. People are very helpful. Beautiful shops, food markets, cathedrals. Very short taxi ride from airport which cost no more then 25 euros. Small markets selling everything you could wish to buy. We are a family of 3 (by the time we visited Valencia our son was 7 almost 8). We had also two days of heavy rain so looked for alternatives inside. We choose a accommodation close to the beach but not far from the center to have both sightseeing and beach days. Best decision every. Sandy beaches with kids can be messy and we needed to be close to the apt. We stayed 6.5 days. * first day was an accommodation day and plan adjustment day. * Second day was Bio Park (a wild park in the city). A great moment for kids to see animals and hang out. Second part was a relax at a terrace or even beach time. * the third and forth we went to the oceanografic and science city both very interesting for kids and parents in both cases we relaxed in the accommodation or grabbed a bite in the area. * fifth / sixth day was a full beach day and relaxing days while the remaining time until our flight in the night was roaming around the Mercada in the center and buying souvenirs. As a family we can really recommend Valencia. It has a specific charm about it with vibrant colours and interesting architecture. Totally enjoyed it.

We loved the old town, the town hall, the central market and the Cathedral. Also the Church of St. Nicholas was fantastic. We had 2 days in the city of arts and sciences, to see the museum of sciences and the oceanografic. We could definitely have spent more time in both than we had available.

It’s a lovely city, architecture stunning. Enjoyed the hop on hop off city bus tour. Had to walk a fair distance through run down areas before we got to the better part of the old town. Didn’t have time to visit the aquarium - a must for our next visit.
