El Cotillo is a quiet town and the beaches nearby aren't super super busy.
Great surf spots just a short walk down the coast.
Enough supermarkets nearby.
Easy to reach by car.
Enough places to eat for a few nights a week but will need to go further if you're staying for weeks.

El Cotillo is lovely for a stroll and to have a drink whilst watching the sun go down. It’s equally good for rock pool swimming and surfing, so depends what you want.
There are a variety of shops, mostly geared to tourists and some hardware stores. There are a couple of supermarkets so easy to get what you need.
Not a resort as such but more occupied by locals, surfers and some tourists (in January anyway).

El Cotillo has been our 'go to' place for the last 10 years.
El Cotillo has been our 'go to' place for the last 10 years. We mostly stay at the same apartments. It is quiet compared to Correalajo..The beach is a couple of mins walk. There are great restaurants in the harbor area. The Beach Suite Cotillo Apartments are exceptional!

Beaches, weather and food was amazing.
Beaches, weather and food was amazing. If you go to the beach be prepared for lots of naked people. I wouldn’t take kids there, very concerning. The locals of El Cotillo know you’re a tourist and they have no problem making you very aware of this fact (long stares, tutting, grumpy and rude attitude) - not all of them of course, but the majority. The vibe of the place is really weird and off, never quite been anywhere like it, made to feel unwelcome and I have travelled the world extensively. The Argentinian restaurant is by far the best if not only place worth going for food (actually seem somewhat friendly and welcoming of tourists) there are no activities unless you go to the marina in the next town over - that town is a lot more friendly and good things to do / busy streets etc. Good for a short break but no longer than 4 days max!!!!

Smaller than most resorts, maintaining an element of it's old fishing past. This was great compared to our first week in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote which was much bigger, busier and more touristy.
However, it can be quiet and this will not suit everybody. There is quite a lot of development to the north outside of the main town, with some large apartment complexes. I fear that it will become too big for the limited facilities in town.

Cotillo is a beautiful relaxing place.
Cotillo is a beautiful relaxing place. It has a charming old town full of character. Beautiful beaches, all within walking distance but if you have a car, you can park pretty much anywhere without having to pay! Places to eat I would recommend are, Olivo Curso, Bar Central, El Tostan, La Marisma, The Blue Cow and Ajueva. Cheapest supermarket is the Superdino on the outskirts of the village and also there is a Chinese shop that sells pretty much everything. Fab Chinese takeaway/restaurant in town and a bakery that sells amazing goods.
Very nice apartment with a comfortable bed, equipped kitchen, and nice little patio looking out over the water. A few minutes walk to some cafes and about 5-10min into the center of El Cotillo with a number of great restaurants, cute little boutique shops, and more. 10min walk or short drive to Playa la Concha, a really pretty and calm beach that was great for our small child. Parking right outside the front door. Everything was very convenient, comfortable, and we had a fantastic stay!
This was everything we had hoped it would be, and more! A beautiful, clean home away from home, away from the built up tourist areas but not far from a good supermarket, restaurants and beaches. Some mode of transport is a bonus if you want to get about and see the natural beauty of this area of Fuerteventura. Thank you for your kind hospitality, Benito!
Note: We paid the extra cost to Benito to have the pool heated while we were there. Well worth it!
Beautiful house, sparkling clean and great location with the beach, bars and restaurants and supermarket just minutes on foot. We really loved it, so comfortable and beautifully decorated. There really are no words for the host, Alicia, super friendly and accommodating, everything was so easy and she made us feel so welcome. Thank you so much from the 5 of us! 100% this is where we're staying again in Fuerteventura!
Everything was perfect!
We love the apartment, the terrace, the owners were really nice and helpful.
Apartment was very clean and cozy. Its very close to the beautiful beach, there are shops nearby. El Cotillo is charming, the best town from all Canary towns :)
The swimming pool is cold so we didn't use it, but we knew that and didn't expect that it will be warm in February.
Thank you for your hosting!
The location of Cotillo Ocean Sunset it ideal for us. It is about a seven minute wander to the beach we want to use and about 15 mins walk to the bakery and small supermarket. There are several good restaurants within 2km of the property, a nice walk back after a nice meal. It is a very peaceful location.
Very clean and Nice studio. Parking spots in front of the door and very close to the supermarket, surfrental and restaurants. Nice view, good beds and very nice shower. El Cotillo is a very nice town and is perfect for surfing and being off grid for a bit. Better than busy Corralejo.
The hotel is a little gem on the island. If you prefer to avoid big resorts this hotel is for you. A beautiful boutique hotel a short walk from the beach. Monica goes out of her way to go above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay. I’ll definitely be back
The hotel is located in the heart of the Cotillo village just a short walk away from the beach and the local restaurants and bars. I loved the rooftop terrace where you can sunbathe by the pool as well as taste some of the local cuisine.
Great, spacious appartement with a well-equiped kitchen and nicely decorated. The location is excellent, close to the beaches and in the middle of the picturesque centre of Cotillo with most restaurants and bars only some footsteps away.
The location of the hotel was closer to the beach, restaurants and shops. It was also very easy to commute to other areas.
My son loved the football pitch and outdoor gym.
The room was always cleaned, cleaners were very diligent.
El Cotillo is a nice town, and the location of the apartment is great as it's literally at the beach! If you rent a car, you can get around quite easily and discover great natural beaches in the surroundings.
Lovely friendly (and very helpful) host.
Great location for the best part of the beach.
Very clean and well equipped apartment.
Ideal for a quiet holiday away from the busier areas.
Very nice place to stay with my family.
Very clean and nice apartment in the center of el Cotillo.
The Host was very friendly and helpful.
Will come back for sure!
Thanks
The location, the hotel is on the beach and there is a tiny lagoon there which is fine for a quick swim or take some sun. The concha is two minutes walking through the beach
I really liked the hotel itself, it was new, nice, clean, well located. Rooms were decorated in modern design, clean. The breakfast buffet was satisfactory.
