FAQs about hotels in Salou
On average, 3-star hotels in Salou cost $104 per night, and 4-star hotels in Salou are $140 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Salou can be found for $467 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Like all Costa Dorada resorts, Salou has a fantastic beach and fun water sports. But it’s the wide, palm-lined promenade that really makes it stand out. Boutiques and exclusive restaurants line its western end, while in the east the bay curves to a point where a sculpture leans out to sea. Head there for lovely views of the sandy beach and distant mountains.
Further round the coast towards Cap Salou the beach becomes rocky coves, while inland is PortAventura, Spain’s most visited theme park. This huge complex includes rides and roller coasters in themed zones, and a water park with slides, flumes and pools galore. Also here is Lumine, a golf club featuring 2 courses designed by Greg Norman.
Next door is Port Halley shopping center which also has a 3D cinema and bowling alley. The best shopping in Salou though is in the old town, where designer shops stay open until late.
Other Salou attractions include the dancing Font Illuminosa fountains, Bosc Aventura’s high ropes, and Aquopolis - a great water park for younger children. Although the town has plenty of arcades, clubs and bars, peace and quiet can be found.
Reus Airport is the nearest and it’s around a 20 minute drive from there to the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Salou bookable on Booking.com.

Salou is a lovely place, lots to do but like most tourist places the shops sell pretty much the same thing , it's a good idea to check them all out though as they all offer different prices for similar items.
We found that at night time there was lots of groups of young people around which for two women it was a little off putting, That's just our personal opinion.

Quiet area good for eating and relaxing.
Quiet area good for eating and relaxing. Panders to tourists a bit, so try to eat in more local restaurants if you want better value and tastier food. I would try to avoid eating anywhere along the beach as a lot of them are within the same chain/group which serve a practically identical menu (restaurants like bamboo, boca boca, etc) and their prices are quite expensive for what you get (food is average and drinks watered down). A few days here is plenty to relax, but any more might leave you bored. There were plenty of little supermarkets for essentials, and I would recommend grabbing a light breakfast at any of the michaelangelo locations! It's super cheap and yummy.
The best place we ate for dinner was hands down restaurant tahiti so definitely check that out for great paella.
Beware that there is a monopoly situation on taxis (uber is banned) so taxis are quite pricey (€32 for 15/20 minute ride)

The apartment is well situated in a great little beach town of Salou. Just a few minutes walk to the beach, it offered all the amenities of home. Even a washing machine.
Unfortunately the train service in Salou has been suspended since we last visited but they offer many options of bus service to get to neighbouring Reus or Tarragona and even offer direct bus rides to Barcelona's airport.

Everything about Salou is great.
Everything about Salou is great. Over the last 25 years been 7 ot 8 times. I can't fault anything about it. Good beaches, great hotels and very family orientated. It's such a pleasant place. The airport is close and then there is Port Aventura world which is without doubt the best theme park in Europe. Then there is lovely places adjacent to it in Cambrills, Taragona and La Pineda.
The night life is also very good. No I can't fault this place and hope to return soon..
It is close to the seafront and one of the best restaurants in Salou.
I liked that there is a balcony which really helps make the stay more relaxing.
I never checked the restaurant as I was expected to pay around 12€ up front and there is no menu, it is just a buffet. In covid times a buffet is the last thing I want to experience.
The hotel is absolute anarchy, which is good and bad at the same time. Recommended for younger people.
The bar staff were excellent. really nice people, and the drinks reasonably priced.
The hotel is old, dirty, broken and moldy everywhere.Air conditioning in the restaurant and hotel did not work almost all the time. The food was the same every day, terrible food. What we see in the pictures in Booking has nothing to do with reality. We wanted to leave immediately, but we couldn't find rooms in other hotels. This Hotel has 3 stars and Best Cap de Salou has 4! The hotels have no basis for comparison. The second one is light years ahead. This hotel may have one star or be called a hostel
Nice hotel, good seating etc.., some of the entertainment was very good, pool areas were good, we didn't take part in the morning stampede to the beds, but watched in amusement from the 1st floor restaurant while enjoying the lovely breakfast.
Location good, 2 minute walk to bus stop for Salou and Barcelona airports (don't get on the wrong one,,,lol), which was also the pick up for the travel coach to Barcelona. Evening meal was also very good, the choice made it hard to decide what to have.
Could not find any fault with this hotel.beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean, pleasant staff.location was fantastic.15 drive from reus airport.15 min walk to porta Ventura park,1 min walk to the beach. 2 big supermarkets right outside the door of the hotel, along with being spoilt fur choice for selection of restaurants . McDonald's & burger king 5 mins Walk away on the main salou strip .Irish bar & restaurant right around the corner also.highly recommend this hotel.
Host will meet you at the property to hand over the keys. All supplies in the apartment. Full kitchen/washing machine. view of the sea from the balcony. Beginning of June must still be off time because not crowded at all. Apartment is located about a mile from downtown Salou. A car makes this location ideal. Pool downstairs and a short 5 minute walk to secluded sandy beach. About 15 minute walk to large sandy beach area. Beds and pull out bed very comfy.
The location is perfect, it's beachfront so the view is amazing.
There was an amazing perfect lady working in the store in the hotel, she was very nice and helpful. They should definitely promote her or offer a better paying job, the only person there who not only worked bt was also very friendly and nice.
The animator was really good, they should promote him.
The bartenders and the waitresses in the bar were amazing.
We had an amazing time at this hotel! I went with my friend to celebrate our birthdays. The staff was wonderful! They even saw a birthday banner in our room that my friend had put up and surprised us with a card and some chocolates! The kitchen staff was very kind, and the nighttime security was very friendly as well. Beautiful pool and loved both pool options. Thanks and congratulations on finishing a great season!
Very clean hotel, and the pool area was well managed. I liked that we did not have to rush out in the morning to get our towels out like many other hotels. The hotel is in a quiet area and has close access to a lovely sandy beach, shops, bars and restaurants .The hotel is a short bus ride to the centre of Salou were it is very busy and noisy, plenty to see to pass an evening.
Lots of facilities were available to guests. As we stayed there longer we kept discovering new things, a table tennis table, a 4th swimming pool for children, evening entertainment, etc. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from Platja dels Capellans, which was by far the nicest beach we visited in Salou. We also really enjoyed the adult only salt water pool.
Room was perfect. Daily cleaning. Were on the 6th floor, nice view. Hotel close to almost anything to assist your needs and wants, Near the beach and Salou bus terminal.
Breakfast were very good, omelette cooked with fillings as you want. Fruits , cereals and great selection on bread, cheese, sausages and cold cuts.
Beachfront location in a quiet part of Salou. Very clean hotel overall.
Powerful shower, comfy beds, fridge in the room.
Were pleasantly surprised with room being cleaned every day despite 3 stars.
"Side sea view room" had an amazing sea view! I would not call it "side".
Bus stop and a shop right outside.
Apartment was spotless had everything for our family. will be back again.
in the centre of Salou close to everything beaches food and transport. highly recommend for families
Ramon was very helpful thanks again
The property had all the amenities you would want for a family location. My kids had so many options right at their fingertips and the food near the hotel was delicious. Very nice, safe place to stay.
it was our 2nd time in Cap Salou and this time we chose this hotel because of the great location and wonderful sea side views from rooms. Hotel stuff at the reception was friendly and helpful.
The location was fantastic with the entry in the Far West and just before the Mexic. The buffet had a large variety and was very good, the same for the hotel and the facilities
