The breakfast was AMAZING. I've got great things to say about the accommodations and staff but I've never had a hotel breakfast as good as this. The front desk staff helped me with every question I had and even helped me book a taxi to the airport. The room was clean and comfortable. It totally exceeded my expectations.

The Gran Canaria capital, Las Palmas, has everything that the Canaries stand for: year-round sun, fantastic beaches and great nightlife. However, the largest city of this volcanic island group is more than just a beach resort: its mix of traditional and modern makes it stand out from the crowd.
Colorful Colonial façades line Calle Triana, a top shopping street, while the Las Arenas shopping complex outside the city is much more contemporary in design. The El Muelle shopping center is near Parque Santa Catalina and the surrounding restaurants, bars and clubs are focal points of Las Palmas nightlife, together with the historic Vegueta district.
Vegueta is also home to Santa Ana cathedral, best viewed from the palm-lined square which houses the Canary Island Museum. Around the corner is the Casa Museo de Colón, where Columbus stayed en route to America. No doubt he sailed from huge Puerto de la Luz whose numerous vessels are guarded by a lighthouse and stone castle.
On the opposite side of the promontory is long Las Canteras beach, lined by a promenade providing great mountain views in both directions. The 5-star hotels by the beach are just some of Booking.com’s Las Palmas accommodations options, alongside cheap guesthouses and apartments, all connected by coastal road to Gran Canaria Airport.

Las Palmas is a good place for a relaxing vacation.
Las Palmas is a good place for a relaxing vacation. Relaxing vibes, good weather, nice beaches. Transportation is ample, and it's easy to understand how to get around. That being said, the odd layout of Las Palmas can make deciding on a location a bit confusing, which leads me to my only grip: the old town is dead in the off season. If a quiet getaway is what you're after, by all means stay in the old town, but there seemed to be more excitement around Las Canteras.

The island will definitely appeal to alot of people from all...
The island will definitely appeal to alot of people from all walks - Interestingly the south caters for more touristic attractions and opportunities whilst the centre and north are more historic. The island is accessible via public transport from St. Telmo (bus station) - You'll need to work out the way the busses work (Blue for inter-town, Orange for inside towns) and download the GuaGua app (There's two of them!) - Google Maps helps alot in navigating whilst Apple-Maps is a little sparse on information.
Dont go the route to hire a car - Its not needed and buses are frequent and easily accommodating.
Restaurants are a pick'n'mix re success - Some are great (look for the locals seems a big deal)

Great to walk all over the city.
Great to walk all over the city. The old town and so many beautiful beaches where there are no tourists. They are all on one beach. Positive attitude from everyone I met. Nice to rent a bicycle and travel on excellent bicycle routes throughout the city. Lots of good restaurants. I was there for a month, it felt way too short.

What an island!
What an island! It has an amazing beach - Las Canteras - and amazing places to visit, eat and relax. It is best to rent a car, but you can also use the public buses, which work really well. The taxis are also affordable and reliable. People are friendly, but not overly invasive of your personal space.

Las Palmas is not a particularly pretty town/city; however...
Las Palmas is not a particularly pretty town/city; however the old town of Vegueta is only about 15 minutes on the bus and has both the historic old town with narrow streets, plus the modern shopping street with most of the highstreet shops, and plenty of restaurants and bars.
Las Palmas has many bars and restaurants, as well as the main shopping street Mesa y Lopez, with El Corte Ingles and many more highstreet shops.
There are a couple of indoor shopping centres - one near the Auditorium and one near the port. The Auditorium itself is an interesting building and worth a visit. It looked to have a good programme of concerts too.
There are lots of restaurants and bars on the Canteras promenade but there are also some good ones a block or so back. Lacan (plaza Faray) for pizzas is brilliant but you do have to book, especially at the weekend, and Toma Pan y Moja, which is a small bar on the Canteras promenade is very small and friendly and has some beautiful food and wine. The prawns and the Saharan Calamari are to die for! The bar Ginger further along the promenade serves the best mojitos and La Maravilla a on the next corner does a very good plate of mixed fried fish.

Probably the most social hostel I have ever stayed at, without being a party hostel. They have activities for guests most days, and are also well connected to the digital nomad population of Las Palmas, where you can join in even more fun social stuff like beach volley. And they have their own What's App group which makes it even easier to hang out and make friends with other guests. Great rooftop terrace, which closes at 10 pm, so it won't be noisy at late hours, which I think is a good thing.
Although quite small, the apartment is excellently equipped, and has everything you need in good working order. The beds are very comfortable, and the standard of cleanliness cannot be faulted. The owner/host of this properly clearly care about their guests’ comfort, and they are exceptionally friendly and helpful on all levels. The location is superb, just seconds from the beach and all the local amenities- it would be hard to find better in Las Palmas.
Location could not have been better for visiting the original areas of Las Palmas. Walk out the door and it is pedestrian-friendly shops and restaurants, as well as classic architecture and a sense of the area from which the Canary Islands (and explored territories beyond) sprang. Also, the staff at the location was understated, but available for any and every need, including a pre-arranged taxi for the airport on getaway day.
This is a nice hotel on the beach, rather old and worn out, optimistically rated as 5*. Staff is wonderful, beyond any complaints. Parking in the basement is a good feature. Free towel service is nice also. The bar in the lobby is a good place to chill out ... and Andrea is good at making cocktails. Breakfast is amazing compared to most hotels - always something new is offered and the variety is quite large.
Very comfy beds and clean rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is superb (fresh savoury and sweet dishes) and is served on the rooftop terrace where you can enjoy some morning sunshine and the views to the Old Town, including the Cathedral of Gran Canaria (previously named Santa Ana).
In the night there are restaurants and bars in the area, which is convenient. Will come back!
Our stay was amazing. The deluxe room was superb, with nice garden view, gorgeous bathroom and the most comfortable bed we slept in in ages. The hotel itself is magnificent, very posh and its facilities are something for everyone. Male sure to have breakfast included as it’s a delicious buffet style. Will definitelly stay here again if we return to Gran Canaria.
Only 2 steps from the beach and the promenade, very clean and comfortable rooms and beds, great breakfast and very very kind staff.
If you want to be in the neighbourhood of locals, it's a great choice to enjoy Las Palmas.
Plus the bar on the eight floor with its view, is great for afternoon and night chill.
Definitely will choose it again for my next stay
At night SILENCE which is very rare to have in noisy Spain. It is NOT a hotel since there is a self check in, no staff seen during three days, no breakfast service or any other service available.
located at end of boulevard in a quiet street between locals.
very good airconditioning, waterboiler and fridge in room. two bottles of water complimentary.
Central location for beach or into town and within easy walking distance to main bus station for airport or trips throughout gran canaria if you've not got a hired car.
The urban beach apartments is in a quiet street we never heard any noise from traffic etc.
Would highly recommend these apartments everything was perfect for a week break in the sun.
Very friendly and helpfull staff, including cleaning staff.
Room was nice and spacious with a small fridge, a safe and a balcony with two chairs and a table.
Hotel is very close to Las Canteras beach, also shops and restaurants are very close.
Price I payed for 11 nights was very attractive and included nice breakfast.
People working here is what really makes this place special. I didn’t feel like a guest, I felt like I was a part of a family. Gran Canaria is just magical, with these people?! It was the best experience ever! Originally I was supposed to stay two weeks, left after three :D
Great hostel! Thank you, Tamaran Family! ♥️
Amazing room in a big apartemnt on a ground floor (jus couple a stairs to walk on). It was very easy to check in, shower was hot. And it has all amenities you need for a short stay in a cultural part of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria :)
A very helpful owner , a quite place with anything you can need you'll find available, clean room and a wonderful location, I really recommend it to anyone who want to have the best stay in Las palmas ❤️
The best place that I have stayed in while traveling in Gran Canaria, the apartment has everything you need and is very quiet. The hosts were very helpfull and friendly. I would definitly return!
Perfect location close to the beach, city and supermarket. The moment you arrive in the appartement it feels like home! If i would go to gran canaria again 100% i would Come back.
Very nice, responsive and helpful staff.
Good, varied breakfasts.
Good location for visiting Las Palmas de GC, well communicated with the main bus stations.
The location is just perfect, very close to the beach, supermarket and also to the bus station from which you can go in most famous cities at Gran Canaria.
