FAQs about hotels in Salou
On average, 3-star hotels in Salou cost $87 per night, and 4-star hotels in Salou are $117 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Salou can be found for $358 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Like all Costa Dorada resorts, Salou has a fantastic beach and fun water sports. But it’s the wide, palm-lined promenade that really makes it stand out. Boutiques and exclusive restaurants line its western end, while in the east the bay curves to a point where a sculpture leans out to sea. Head there for lovely views of the sandy beach and distant mountains.
Further round the coast towards Cap Salou the beach becomes rocky coves, while inland is PortAventura, Spain’s most visited theme park. This huge complex includes rides and roller coasters in themed zones, and a water park with slides, flumes and pools galore. Also here is Lumine, a golf club featuring 2 courses designed by Greg Norman.
Next door is Port Halley shopping center which also has a 3D cinema and bowling alley. The best shopping in Salou though is in the old town, where designer shops stay open until late.
Other Salou attractions include the dancing Font Illuminosa fountains, Bosc Aventura’s high ropes, and Aquopolis - a great water park for younger children. Although the town has plenty of arcades, clubs and bars, peace and quiet can be found.
Reus Airport is the nearest and it’s around a 20 minute drive from there to the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Salou bookable on Booking.com.

Salou is a lovely place, lots to do but like most tourist places the shops sell pretty much the same thing , it's a good idea to check them all out though as they all offer different prices for similar items.
We found that at night time there was lots of groups of young people around which for two women it was a little off putting, That's just our personal opinion.

Quiet area good for eating and relaxing.
Quiet area good for eating and relaxing. Panders to tourists a bit, so try to eat in more local restaurants if you want better value and tastier food. I would try to avoid eating anywhere along the beach as a lot of them are within the same chain/group which serve a practically identical menu (restaurants like bamboo, boca boca, etc) and their prices are quite expensive for what you get (food is average and drinks watered down). A few days here is plenty to relax, but any more might leave you bored. There were plenty of little supermarkets for essentials, and I would recommend grabbing a light breakfast at any of the michaelangelo locations! It's super cheap and yummy.
The best place we ate for dinner was hands down restaurant tahiti so definitely check that out for great paella.
Beware that there is a monopoly situation on taxis (uber is banned) so taxis are quite pricey (€32 for 15/20 minute ride)

The apartment is well situated in a great little beach town of Salou. Just a few minutes walk to the beach, it offered all the amenities of home. Even a washing machine.
Unfortunately the train service in Salou has been suspended since we last visited but they offer many options of bus service to get to neighbouring Reus or Tarragona and even offer direct bus rides to Barcelona's airport.

Everything about Salou is great.
Everything about Salou is great. Over the last 25 years been 7 ot 8 times. I can't fault anything about it. Good beaches, great hotels and very family orientated. It's such a pleasant place. The airport is close and then there is Port Aventura world which is without doubt the best theme park in Europe. Then there is lovely places adjacent to it in Cambrills, Taragona and La Pineda.
The night life is also very good. No I can't fault this place and hope to return soon..
Good food, great location and very friendly staff (especially jhonathan from reception!!). Alot of drinks were included with all-inclusive stay, like cocktails, whiskey, rum and sangria. We really loved the room, the pool and the overall sphere. There was live music almost every night and we loved the sea view. You can take a walk around the hotel with beautiful views. We also walked to the centre of Salou, which is much shorter if you walk next to the beach (20 min). I would definitely recommend, and we will be coming back!
The hotel is old, rooms and furniture are old, the bathroom is somehow remade. But the general conditions are good for a short stay. It was pretty clean. No facilities for 4 stars exepting one old minifridge. We had HB and food was medium, good variety but not the best quality, many cheap things. Overall you have what to eat even with kids. Parking around the hotel ( out of the season it was pretty crowded ) Good position - 20 min walk to Portaventura, 10 min walk to beach Salou.
One of our best stays in Spain. Ana met us at property (be aware GPS brings you to front of building and Ana met us there and brought us around to the back parking area). Unit has amazing views from both LR and kitchen. Place was spotless on arrival. Furniture was very comfortable for rental and TV was a decent size. Kitchen was well stocked and Ana left us a lot of water. Unit was generally quiet. Short walk downhill to a nice little beach in a cove.
Very good selection of food for breakfast. Hot food could be hotter on some of the mornings, but overall ok
Many restaurants and fast food outlets local as well as excellent restaurants in the hotel.
Beautiful clean pool and loungers in the hotel grounds.
Train from Barcelona Airport to Barcelona Sant station. Change to train to Salou 1.5 hrs away. Taxi to hotel 10 mins
Portaventura World bus every hour from nearby.
The space for a family. The 2 bathrooms were a great extra.
The blinds on the windows meant the appartment stayed cool and was totally dark to sleep. It was quiet at night/ or probably not as noisy as it would be in a large hotel or nearer the beach or centre of salou.
The washing machine was a great added extra especially if you have a family.
Well renovated hotel, stylish and atmospheric lobby interior, tasty and delicious breakfast and dinner! I can’t forget royal shrimps, tuna, paella:)
Sea is from 5min walk (small beach). We enjoyed Platja Llarga (just 15min morning walk by passage maritimo along the cost). Cap de Salou is a very quiet and beautiful place to stay it.
Just love!
Stayed there one week in the middle of May2023 , sea view room turned out to be very good choice . Amazing view , helpful staff , it has also inside swimming pool and gym and so on ... Returning end of July : ) information for those, who have never visited Salou: photo i added , is actually taken from my balcony !!
We enjoyed our stay in sun club salou.walkable distance to beach .clean hotel apartment.supermarket attached so easy shopping.pool, kids leisure activities are amazing.massive jazuzizi...always some entertainment in night time ...and tastey food ..we had great time , moreover helpful staff..
Nice, clean apartment with all the facilities and an astonishing view on the Passeig de Jaume. We had unforgettable sunsets on the balcony enjoying a café con leche or a glass of good cava wine. We'll repeat the experience for sure anytime we'll be back in Salou.
The room vas very comfortable and very clean. Also, the breakfast was very good.
We had drinks in the bar in the evening and were delicious. The staff were all very nice. I definitely recommend staying in this hotel when visiting Salou or Port Aventura.
The roof top deck view was incredible where you can see the coastline of Salou. I also saw the wonderful🌄 & the mesmerizing🌅. It was near to a beach down that has the connection going to the other side. The hotel staffs are accommodating. 🙂
Excellent hotel with 3 pools, comfortable room and location close to everything you need. The beach nearby has a lot of restaurants and bars and shops. The roof top pool is magical, especially at sunset time. We really enjoyed our vacation.
Not the best for a a young couple. This hôtel is for “all inclusive” people who likes to stay at the pool and do nothing on the day. We were surprised for a 4 stars + we expect lot more quality and comfort.
This place was just an out of the world experience for us. From the theme of the hotel, to the surroundings, access to the parks and friendliness of the staff. I will always come here if I am in Spain.
Beautiful room interior, great bathroom! Beaches are clean and picturesque, water is clear. Good restaurants nearby. The hotel has pool tables! Breakfast is 4/5.
