Almost like being in your own home with all of amenities. Owner extremely gracious and accommodating. Up on a hill with a great view. Private parking a huge plus. Better than most hotels and B&Bs I've stayed in.

Overall, the region was beautiful and there are many lovely towns to visit and much history in the area. Sarlat has a recently updated town square that is quite beautiful. Getting around the town itself is typical of a small French town. Walking is best! I was underwhelmed with the restaurants and the shops. Some areas of the town feel rundown.

It’s such a beautiful city and it has wonderful things to explore within the walls. The whole region around Sarlat is beautiful. Sarlat is the perfect place to rest after a long day exploring other small towns or caves in this gorgeous region. We could have spent two weeks here easily. Take full advantage of the markets on Wednesday and Saturday in Sarlat to get amazing food, and of course, eat at a restaurant and enjoy some amazing wine.

Charming old town, narrow streets, lots of shops, many, many selling local produce, foie gras, etc. Centrally located to visit the highlights of the Dordogne. Many places to dine, seemingly pretty much the same menus everywhere except in a couple of higher end restaurants. It is hilly. Parking very hard, everywhere is payant, get the APP.

Sarlat was an amazing town and a great place to visit. Plenty of restaurants and bars, friendly people and lots of history. We could have stayed longer but only to explore the surrounding areas.
Will definitely stay again

Politeness and a smile opens many doors, I don't speak French well, but was very pleased at how friendly and polite the people were. I mean all the people not just the ones that are getting some financial benefit from you.
Basically, be nice, don't be an ass, and you won't get treated like one.
Take a moment to look at how many men these small towns lost during WWI, must have been devistating.

The best thing of Sarlat is the location: It's easy and fast to make day trips to the multiple interesting location in the area.
Food offering is quite unified between the restaurants, it gets a bit boring after a while. Having said that there are few really good restaurants but it takes effort to find them.

Wonderful stay at Gite Le Vélo Rouge!! Valerie and Rutger were very warm and welcoming hosts making the gite feel like a home away from home. The gite was ideal for our family of five, very spacious, comfortable, fully equipped throughout, with a/c in all the bedrooms and living room. Spotless too.
The gite is a stones throw from the renowned Sarlat (yet is very peaceful and quiet for a good nights sleep) and is in the heart of the most spectacular Dordogne countryside. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!
This accommodation is first class! It's immaculate inside and out , tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. It has a wonderful little patio and a lawned garden which was all maintained to a very high standard. Our little dog loved the freedom of the enclosed garden.
The apartment was spacious and very modern. We loved it and it was by far the nicest accommodation we have stayed in during our tour of France.
Lovely attentive hosts. Thankyou for allowing us to share your lovely home.
We had a brilliant week at Le Clos De La Caneda just on the outskirts of Sarlat. The accommodation is very spacious, clean and comfortable, with breakfast being served to us by Fabienne, our wonderful hostess, who is very friendly and helpful with lots of information about local amenities and events. Off road car parking is a must for us, so having plenty of space in front of the property behind gates, which were pin coded worked perfectly for us. A great place to stay!
Set on a hilltop with a fine view, walking distance from the centre of Sarlat, the hotel is peaceful and comfortable with friendly, welcoming staff. we enjoyed dinner which was well presented and well cooked. we entertained friends for lunch the next day and the formule déjeuner was ideal and high quality. Great value for money. much to be preferred to a stay in the centre of Sarlat.
Lovely hotel just on the edge of the historic centre of Sarlat. Beautifully restored and full of character. Amazingly spacious room with antique furniture. Everything about it was tastefully executed. And a really scrumptious breakfast. Would definitely recommend to friends. Very knowledgeable host who gave som wonderful recommendations of villages to visit.
The hotel is perfectly located to explore the Perigord Noir. It is situated above Sarlat, has convenient parking and a very nice swiimming pool to relax in when back from a long day’s trip. The owners are exceptionally welcoming and available for their guests at any time. They made us feel very welcome.
The hotel location is quite good, ~10 mins walk from the old town of Sarlat. Easy walk to the town, coming back after the dinner requires a little more effort.
Room was spacious, comfortable, quiet and very clean.
Breakfast was OK.
We were very satisfied with the accommodation.
Staff were friendly, everything was clean and comfortable and the airco worked well. Breakfast was good and there was plenty of free parking on site. The restaurant was nice and was open on a Sunday which is good because many restaurants are closed in France on Sundays.
Michelle was a fantastic host. The garden rooms are tastefully decorated, very comfortable and have everything you need for a relaxed stay in Sarlat. I would recommend this hotel to anyone without question. Centrally located but very peaceful. Superb breakfast
The location of this hotel is perfect for walking around Sarlat. Staying in a historic building was fun. We had free parking 5 minutes away. When we left a folder of documents at the hotel, they called us promptly which we so appreciated.
Beautiful castle not far from Sarlat la Caneda. We love the place where it is located. It has a swimming pool and it was great to chill there when the temperature was almost 40 degrees.
It’s very quiet and the room was comfortable.
From the moment we were greeted by Remi at the front desk we knew we were in good hands. He went out of his way to help us with whatever questions we had. David, the manager, has prepared an excellent team throughout the hotel.
Did not have breakfast. The location was great! Just a short walk to the beautiful old town. Just a great hotel. Spacious family room.. a queen bed and two twins…everything so clean…decorated nicely.
The hotel is in a very good location for visiting Sarlat and the staff were very friendly and helpful and the suite we stayed in was spacious and in very good condition.
Every time we visit Sarlat we base our visit at this Hotel , have done for years and it never disappoints. The owner and the staff are beyond excellent
