Inverness is a major city in Northern Scotland, and, as such has many and varied facilities.
Plenty of opportunities to eat out, or just enjoy a drink.
The people we met were friendly and helpful.
Our favourite places were the Inverness Botanical Gardens and the Falls of Foyers, (which are about 15 miles away)

Lovely city with some really beautiful parts.
Lovely city with some really beautiful parts. Clearly a seedy side (there was a major assault not 50m from our door on one night!), which is true of any city, but Inverness is small enough for it to feel cheek by jowl with the nicer parts. Great range of places to eat and things to do. Easily walkable to everywhere.

Inverness is a beautiful city. Nice shopping streets and shops. Many nice restaurants with varied menu options. We recommend Aye Eats for the Scottish experience and food. Also, recommend House of Aran for shopping. Both are with in walking distance of our accommodation.

It’s a surprisingly small down that feels a bit empty in the day - mostly comes to life at night with all the live music in bars. For tourists, seems mostly a stopping point en route to Loch Ness rather than a destination of its own.

The location is spot on. Parking a 5 minute walk away. Paid £60 extra to make it a triple room which meant a camp bed was placed in the room…not impressed, couldn’t sleep in it, had to share double bed.

Easy to get to city whether travelling by road, rail, bus and air (air port slightly out of Inverness). We travelled by train and we had lunch in the Ash Restaurant next to the railway station as we had time to kill before we got into our apartment and food was excellent. We also visited the Palace hotel for afternoon tea which was also good.
Plenty of eateries, pubs and shops
It was my 3rd stay in waverley. The hotel is very well localised. From there is close to interesting points like a castle or tasty restaurants or finally beautiful path along river. Quality of rooms is adequate to prices. If you book the cheapest hotel in Inverness don't expect high standards. bathroom and my room were clean what is important for me. TV in the room.Always fresh
towels and bin bags on request. Staff nice and chatty. I recommend for people which want to travel, see beautiful Higlands and want to reduce costs of journey
If you want to experience a piece of Scotland, then stay at this property. It's a family hunting lodge converted to a B&B. The host goes above and beyond to accommodate, is super engaging and interesting. The property was originally built in the 1800's and added on since and has all the modern conveniences and stylishly decorated. Breakfast was amazing - you won't need to eat until dinner. We had fresh baked goods upon arrival and fresh bread for breakfast. My only disappointment is that we only booked one night.
We were looking for somewhere to stop off on our way back from a holiday in the north of Scotland and I remembered going to this hotel for breakfast as a child, after getting off the London - Inverness sleeper train. It has a slightly faded grandeur, with the imposing double staircase and tartan carpets. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed dinner in the Ash Restaurant and breakfast next morning was also very good. My parents' room actually looked out over one of the platforms of the railway station!
The Radcliffe Hotel was absolutely perfect for our stay in Inverness. It was very cozy but had all the modern touches. The room we stayed in looked directly at the castle with nothing obstructing our view. The room was very large and perfect for a family! The hotel restaurant had a fantastic menu and served the best food we had while in Scotland!! The location is very central and an easy walk from both the train and bus stations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!
This is a lovely cottage adjacent to the River Ness in Inverness, yet it is private, peaceful & very well-equipped. It is ideal for a couple. We stayed for 2 nights as part of a road trip through Scotland & wish that we had been able to spend 4 nights, as the cabin is beautiful & well-equipped & there is lots to do in Inverness. Zoe, the owner, is WONDERFUL! She is smart, creative, informed & has a marvelous sense of humor! You will love your stay at Wee Ness Lodge.
It was the best hostel I have been in my long travel through Scotland. Good relation quality/price, and in the center of Inverness, near the Castle. I was in a room for four, clean, comfortable, with space. Shared bathroom are very good, modern and clean. I did not used the other facilities. They have space where to leave lugage between checkout and gone... and the rest room is so nice! Definitely, a place to choose in Inverness.
I checked in bit latter than normal but Phil was there to greet me, he also kindly let me store my bike in his shed over night (very grateful as was in Scotland to cycle the Northcoast 500). The room was warm and cosy and clean and the rest of the house looked very smart and welcoming. The breakfast was all laid out beautifully with lots to choose from, hot and cold, there was also someone there to help serve the breakfast!
Full Scottish breakfast was the best in Scotland and there were many other breakfast options. The host cooked a hot breakfast for us early in the morning before our reserved tour to the Isle of Skye. The host couple were very friendly and kind. They also allowed luggage storage after check-out. The room was clean and cosy. We also liked the host's list of recommendations in Inverness.
The bed was so comfy, and more importantly the shower had been fixed from when I was staying in the same room only last week. The staff here are so helpful and friendly. Also, it's a delight to see classy biscuits on the tea tray which also allows for more than one cup of tea/coffee, instead of the usual cheap and easy style of other hotels I've visited so far in Inverness.
We stayed at the hotel whilst enjoying the East coast of Scotland. The hotel is in a great location just past Inverness and right on the front. Our room had a great view! The bed was very comfy and our evening meal there was fantastic. A really great value hotel for a short stay. There is parking at the hotel and on the roadside. Check-in and out was very easy.
This was the best possible place to start my tour of Scotland! Jamie was so helpful and gave me tons of suggestions for my stay in Inverness and for the rest of my trip, too! Their whole family was so warm and welcoming, they really make you feel like part of the family. The breakfast was delicious and the room was spotlessly clean. Thank you, Jamie!!!
Our host, Christina & Jim were WONDERFUL to visit with! Their B & B is exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated, & makes you feel right at home! Our breakfast was EXCELLENT & served to us with smiles! We walked to Inverness from our room to check out town. If we return to Scotland, we will definitely stay again!
Everything!
After 15 different hotels in Scotland, some of which we far more expensive than this property, this one was sky high above the rest.
We will 100% be staying here again.
Thank you for an incredible stay, your true care for making sure we had a great stay & your efforts at breakfast!
AMAZING!!
Cherry Tree Cottage was exceptional. The hosts met us and were very friendly. The house was super clean and close in to everything. Loved having a full kitchen and laundry facilities. Highly recommend. We are hoping to travel back to Scotland and want to stay here again.
The place is char.ing and well decorated. The staff was so helpful and went the extra mile for us. The food was delicious. We ended up booking a 2nd night. Best place we stayed at in scotland. We highly recommend it.
The cottage was lovely and in a great location for Inverness and surrounding areas. Would definitely recommend it and would stay again if visiting that part of Scotland in the future.
beautiful location. Truly passionate about keeping this great place as the best B&B in Scotland. Love the garden and surroundings. Home made jams and fruit is fantastic
Check in was lovely, everyone was so warm and welcoming. Ownership was on site, very gracious and generous. We had dinner at the Hotel, best meal I had in Scotland.
