What an absolutely beautiful location. It was very clean and welcoming. Vicki always has a smile when she sees you and has made her little B&B a place to completely relax. From the muffins, tea, and drinks, to her home cooked breakfast of your choice, she tends to her guests’ every need. The bed was comfy, the room was tastefully decorated, and the view was spectacular. I could walk that little beach for days. We’ll be back!

Monkstadt House was amazing. Our room on the first floor was well appointed with tea, coffee, tv, etc. The bed was incredibly comfortable and everyone on the staff was very friendly. We had a spectacular dinner our first night and enjoyed starting our days with breakfast here. The property was a bit out of the way (single track road) but well worth it due to the silence in the evenings.

The room was extremely cozy, comfortable and it felt very traditional, along with the house. The location has a beautiful view outside, which was relaxing, and it's in a pretty good spot to allow you to explore the rest of the region. The breakfast was all home-made on the spot and the host was, without exaggeration, the kindest and most welcoming one I have met in a long time - she was an absolute joy to talk to.

The Perfect location in order to explore north Skye. Breakfast items were excellent. One of the best places I have stayed in a very long time.
I love Uig. The locals were all so friendly and a wealth of information. It was easy to get around the island by car from Uig, and convienently close to the ferry (we caught it from Uig to Isle of Lewis).

We spent time in Uig because we were taking the ferry to North Uist and then again when we returned from Harris.
There are a couple of options for food- The Ferry Inn and Uig Hotel, but they need to be booked in advance, then a cafe and a bar which does takeout food at the harbour.
The brewery has a shop there, there’s a pottery and a petrol station and a small shop for food.
One interesting place we found nearby was the Museum of Island Life at Kilmuir and the cemetery next door which had a monument to Flora Macdonald and is the burial place of fashion designer Alexander McQueen!

Rather small village with only a few restaurants and you need to make reservations if you want to have dinner. If not, you can drive to Portree, which is a 20 minute drive.
Uig is nicely situated for visiting the northern part of the island of Skye.

Uig is a charming village.
Uig is a charming village. If we had more time this would have been a great base to explore the Outer Hebrides Islands (the ferries departed out of Uig) and it was really easy to get to Portree on the main road. I also discovered the Isle of Skye Brewery is located in Uig, but didn't get a chance to visit.

Uig is a quiet place, perfect as a starting point for a trip around the Isle of Sky. We had a rental car, I'm guessing getting around by bus might be a bit difficult. By car we took a tour around the island, got off where we wanted (Quiraing, The Storr, Portree, Staffin Dinosaur Beach, Fairy Glenn, view points, cafés, museums, craft shops etc.)
Next time I get there I'll also plan ahead a trip to the Outer Hebrides. Getting - or even staying - there requires a bit of planning as accomodation and ferries are heavily booked, but I'm sure it's worthwhile.

Uig is not only a perfect base to explore Skye, but it is quiet and ideal for peace and quiet after touring around to get away from the bustle of tourists.
The Uig Hotel was fantastic for dinner and the staff were lovely.
We ate in The Ferry Inn, it was exceptional. A real treat for my husband and I to have a quiet dinner. The food was excellent and the decor is lovely.
Stunning view, fit & finish of the place was exceptional, the fireplace was an accessory I didn't know I needed in my life. A masterpiece of contemporary design that acknowledges its beautiful locale.Possibly the best Airbnb I stayed in. Staff was very friendly and responsive. The attention to detail is particularly noteworthy.
Loved it. Would recommend 10/10 and made Isle of Skye a highlight in our Scotland roadtrip. I go as far as to say this remarkable property itself is worth a trip.
The house was dog friendly, with very little to tempt our young puppy to misbehave. The location was convenient for exploring most of Skye. We particularly liked the Faerie Glen and the beach near Staffin. The kitchen is good. We had no trouble self catering for our family of four plus two dogs. The larger CoOp on the edge of Portree had most things we wanted and the local grocery store in Uig had a decent range too. The beds were comfortable. All in all, a fine base for a week outdoors.
the facility was awesome we loved it. the view was spectacular, the accommodations very comfortable, beds were amazing and above all the Host George was very helpful and kind. He had “ make your own” breakfast supplies which were abundant and very good. we travel a lot and this has been one of our favorite stays anywhere. needless to say in one of the worlds most beautiful spots.
We loved having a washer/dryer after a particularly wet and muddy hike.
The entire house was clean and comfortable with everything we needed.
It was a good location at the north end of Skye, in Uig. We enjoyed great meals at the Uig Hotel and the Bakur restaurant, and at Rankins supermarket we found all the food and supplies we needed for our stay.
Location was lovely with fabulous view over the bay. Vicky was very friendly and professional and at hand to give advice on local walks etc.
Breakfast choice was varied and food quality was up there with the best.
Uig hotel restaurant/bar only 10 mins walk and also very nice food and service
We loved everything about the apartment - it was clean, comfortable and had a beautiful view. Vicki was friendly and helpful. I appreciated all the nice touches - Nespresso with fresh milk, fresh juice, a treat waiting for us on arrival and the breakfast was delicious.
We had everything we needed provided and more. There was a fridge with milk, yogurts and water plus bread, croissants and a toaster. Plenty of parking space.
Lovely and quiet area and close to Uig ferry.
About 20 mins to Portree where you can get an evening meal.
Skye Holiday Chalets is in a great location if you need to take the ferry out of Uig. It also backs up to a pretty view of a field - the first night of our stay, someone (or a recording) was playing bagpipes across the fields and it was a fun touch of Scotland.
We loved our stay in George place in Uig. We had eggs, bread, milk to make ourselves a good breakfast in the kitchen. The beds were very comfortable, the apartment was warn and we had towels for everyone. We recommend everyone to stay here if coming to Skye
it was so clean! it was the perfect amount of space for our four person family and was so nice to call home base while seeing Skye. We cooked meals there and they had everything we needed in terms of pots and pans and utensils. The views were amazing!
Nice, comfortable room and very quiet. Continental breakfast but the sausages in a roll were superb. Host Neil was great and gave us a lift in and out of the village and the main hotel up the hill on the main road is good for food and drink.
B&B as it should be, in the hosts home! Mike and his wife were exceptionally friendly, the beds are very comfy, breakfast was splendid and cleanliness was on point.
It is very nice and quiet with Uig just a few miles down the road.
Great location near to where other family were staying in Uig. Located closely to the Rha waterfall which is beautiful. Great views from the property. Uig Hotel is great place to eat at and just down the road.
The location, the space, confortable beds. Ideally for a family. Excellent views. Tea and coffee as well as soap and shampoo. Everything u needed in the kitchen. Near and excellent pub, The Ferry Inn.
Great location, superb sunset views, the house was well equipped and impeccably clean. Information available on the things to do around Uig. Best place we had during our vacation. We'll be back
Location is wonderful with views of Uig Harbour. House is comfy and well resourced. Only negative was one bathroom with electric shower which never throws out much water. Great holiday though.
