Centennial Hotel, hotel in Waterbeach

Just 5 minutes’ walk from Cambridge Rail Station, Centennial Hotel offers free parking, free Wi-Fi and cooked breakfasts.

The breakfast was very good and the service excellent All the staff were pleasant and helpful. An iron, ironing board and hair dryer were all provided in the room, very useful. The location for me was particularly good as I was in Cambridge to attend a drawing class at the Botanic Gardens. It was also walking distance from the station. I did not require buses or taxis.

The reason for my journey to Waterbeach was to visit some friends so I didnt do any sight seeing. It is a pleasant village, with everything you would need very close by - a post office, pharmacy, grocery shops, two pubs, and even a takeaway. ~Waterbeach would be a great base for sightseeing though - it has bus stops in the village and a major line train station just a few mins flat walk away from the centre of the village. Cambridge is just one stop away! I ate at the Whitehorse pub - I had a fantastic meal there.

We did experience a little difficulty actually finding the property but that may be due to the fact that we were walking from Cambridge to Waterbeach and not that good with maps. However, we were quickly made very welcome and provided with an upgraded room which was lovely and very comfortable.

The host Lisa is very warm and friendly and provides a wonderful breakfast, and a great place to stay with stylish décor.. The location is ideal for Cambridge and Ely, with plenty of attractions nearby. And a bonus 2 pubs with great food within a very short walking distance.

Very good facilities in comfortable and exceptionally clean rooms with tasteful decor and a nice personalised feel compared to often sterile hotels. Plenty of parking so a very easy stay indeed and well located to visit friends in the Cambridgeshire countryside.
