Red Squirrel, Stevenston by Marston's Inns, hotel in Ardrossan

Featuring a garden and free WiFi, The Red Squirrel, Stevenston by Marston's Inns is set in Stevenston. All rooms boast a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom.

Clean, quiet, comfortable, staff were up to the mark, bar was quite ice. meal 1 - leak and potato pie although tasty was a bit stodgy, very mean portion of peas which were over cooked, chips were good. meal 2 - Salad with crispy cauliflower was good but side of chips was a little mean but good. breakfast "sandwich" as requested beans, mushrooms and veggy sausage was ok, would have been better with better bread rather than cheap white and would have been better with butter applied.

We stayed as we couldn’t get booked on the ferry home to the Isle of Arran. The hotel is a 2 minute drive to the ferry terminal in Ardrossan. I would highly recommend the hotel to visitors or residents on the island.

Adrossan people were very friendly when out walking our dog.

Adrossan people were very friendly when out walking our dog. The area was clean and tranquil. Had a lovely stay and would recommend to friends and family. We didn't try any eating places as weather not great, but had all amenities in flat to cook. Went a trip to harbour and local Asda which was 5 minutes in car. We will be back.

Properly trained staff, who were not helpful and did not to want to give a forwarding email or contact number for the owner/manager. The mattress wants renewing in the room 1 and smelt of tobacco very disappointed stay and would not stop here again.

There's not much we can say about Ardrossan other than it's handy for the ferry........ A high street that is similar to others in the amount of closed shops. Every person we encountered was friendly and helpful.

I worked in Ardrossan 50 years ago as a police officer and it does not seemed to have changed at all since then! We were attending our brother's birthday lunch held in Cecchinis restaurant. We did not eat anywhere else and did not do anything else except for a short walk before we left.
