Our host was very friendly and quite helpful. She arranged to have our bags transferred to our next stop. The room was charming and offered everything that we needed for a night's stay. Very conveniently located to the Thames Path.

Staff were very helpful, and the place was good and pity they don't do breakfast but plenty of places to eat in the town.

A warm and helpful welcome. The room was extremely clean, with all facilities I required. I was particularly pleased to have a bath as well as a shower. A large, very comfortable bed. Excellent position to enjoy Wallingford.

The location was perfect for exploring the area and there was a reasonably priced overnight car park nearby. Staff (Luke) was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant across the road (The Royal) was very nice for dinner and breakfast

Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional bar manager. The sort of guy who keeps the conversation going and making sure everyone's enjoying themselves. Good for the punter, and good for the business.

Company info

The Coachmakers Arms is a 17th Century building that was originally two cottages adjoined to a sweet shop. Charlie's Sweet Shop was acquired and added much later, providing an additional area to the pub and three B&B rooms. The pub is full of character and traditional pub charm with a lovely ambience and large courtyard garden with some cover and heaters.

Property info

The combination of comfortable sofas, lounge chairs and tables gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy visiting The Coachmakers Arms to relax or eat from our delicious menu. We are not a gastro pub, but serve the best pizzas you can imagine from our stone-bake oven alongside a selection of sharing dishes to enjoy with a glass of your favourite tipple. The sun trap garden is a beautiful space which can be enjoyed whatever the weather, with cover and heating to keep you warm and dry. Please note, there is no private car park. However, there are several large public car parks in the vicinity.

Neighborhood info

The Coachmakers Arms is situated in the centre of the bustling riverside town of Wallingford and within easy reach of the Thames Path, shops and amenities. Wallingford itself is a town with rich, medieval history and architecture, well known for its connections to the popular TV series Midsummer Murders and its past resident, Agatha Christie. The town has an old cinema, interesting independent shops and country and river walks on its doorstep.
