Kilsyth is a town full of history from the mines to the weaving. It should really have a museum in the main street. Colzium is a beautiful park with flowers and walks. The main street is a sad shadow of its former self but still worth a walk and a pie from Rennies the bakers.

The location was spot on to visit the attractions and to explore the region .The town itself was typical of many towns across the UK ,run down and in need of some TLC but on a plus point the people were very friendly
Service and food were exceptional, even though they were short staffed we felt very well looked after.
We felt that the boat house management are really making an effort to improve the hotel. There is plenty of parking directly outside the hotel, a pleasant decking area too.
The towels and bed linen were clean and good quality. there was plenty of tea/coffee etc in the rooms and nice toiletries. Water in the in-room fridge and our friends had a small bottle of Sherry and 2 glasses in their room!
The reception and departure were simple. The receptionist went out of her way to explain all aspects of my stay and also showed me to my room. The room was exactly as described with a lovely view of the canal outside. It was a busy hotel but really quiet, which made for a perfect night's sleep. I ate in the restaurant twice and the food was top quality. The highlight of my time there was the absolute courtesy and politeness of every member of staff. They should be commended just for this.
spotlessly clean, modern well run hotel and restaurant with great food and friendly staff. Had a great nights sleep in a large very comfortable bed with crisp fresh clean linen. very scenic looking out in to the water and seeing the barges parked up and people canoeing. The hotel is dog friendly which is great as there is many walking routes around as well as a really well thought out sensory garden across the road. plenty of parking. I will most definitely return.

The food was lovely, soup was great, staff very friendly and helpful, bed was comfy, towels fresh and clean, great hotel, great price, and breakfast was also great, would definitely go back,as the one complaint we did have was dealt with immediately
the food was superb, the staff were very helpful, the stay wasn’t bad, but we had no hot water the whole night, we missed the entertainment because we couldn’t get washed ect, the hotel staff tried there best to sort it.
The hotel was very nice. The restaurant prices were reasonable, as were the bar prices. The bar staff and waitresses were also friendly. The breakfast the next morning was also very good.
