Fantastic island, vibrant yachting community. Ferries from Athens drop you in the centre of Poros. Stunning walk along harbourfront, views to the sea and mainland and the beautiful hilltop town. Very good restaurants with cheap and fresh seafood. Lots of shops, inexpensive supermarkets and bakeries. Good walking around the island with marked footpaths. Great beaches nearby, nearest 10 mins on foot. Free minibus around main part of the island and inexpensive taxis. All round great destination for all ages.

A beautiful little Island just a short ferry trip from Athens with access to other Islands like Hydra.
Lot's of small shops, mini-marts, restaurants etc -plenty of choice to eat out.
Lovely walks - if you hire a car you can visit the main places in a day or two.

Poros is one of the most underrated islands of Greece, indeed. It's very small but beautiful, serene, calm , clean, quite and picturesque. Only 1hr 15minutes ferry travel from Piraeus port of Athens. There are lots of restaurants, caffe, supermarkets, shops. All types of food are available there including Greek food specially. People are welcoming, friendly and very generous. If needed laundry shops are there too. The clock tower is an added area where people can go see the entire island from bird's view. It's not so expensive like Mykonos and Santorini. But one can get the flavours of Santorini or Mykonos there. As a whole it's worth visiting Poros.

Calm, non touristy. Good food.
Calm, non touristy. Good food. Easy to walk or get a cab anywhere. We were off season (late September) and came by ferry for a few days break from Athens but have been before in high season in our yacht and it was good then too. Ate at Dimitris and Apagio Tavern, great meat and fish at the market, good coffee and lunch at clock cafe, good bakery and great ice cream and helpful pharmacy in the square by the meat and fish market.

Poros is an authentic, laidback Greek island, which also happens to be a major stop-off for yacht charters and flotillas. But, if you're not a yachtie, (we're not) they don't spoil the feel too much.
Only a few paces away from the yacht berths, you can find ouzeries where they still give you proper, free mezes with your drink, as you watch the old boys play backgammon and shoot the breeze. Or you can relax in more upmarket, restaurants and bars - but you've come to Greece, be more Greek! If you're in the square boasting Destino's Kafeneion, the locals' bar next door and Pavlou Shop which sells "plumbing fixtures, beach equipment and church supplies" you're in the right place.

Small but such a beautiful island!
Small but such a beautiful island! green and blue combination! Loved our walks down town at night with the great restaurants and the narrow streets up the hill to the tower Clock to watch the sunset.
We got there by car and took the ferry from Galatas (4-5 mins) to get across.
Favorite beach - "Love" Beach!!
The hotel is situated in a highly convenient location allowing easy access to beaches and to the main town, all within easy walking distance. The hotel is well maintained and managed and the staff at the hotel were both exceptionally welcoming and very helpful with any requests. The breakfast provided was plentiful and varied and even satisfied my fussy child!! The pool area is excellent and was heartily enjoyed by us. I would highly recommend staying at the Saga Hotel - it felt like a home away from home, like we were part of the family.
Amazing! Everything was perfect!!! Location is top! The best panoramic view! Very quiet location! Facilities in the room are the best and well thought! Maira is the best hostess ever, she helped us with everything, from finding us a taxi, to inform us about all we need to know and to visit in Poros island. She even made us a reservation to a restaurant. She is such a kind and helpful person. We will definitely revisit Poros and Harmony soon!!
Everything was great. Apartment is specious and perfectly clean, beds are comfortable, swimming pool fabulous, restaurant is tasteful, hosts are willing to help. Parking space nearby is easy to find. A small suggestion, that the rooms are cleaned in a similar time every day, so guests could know when their apartment is available. In any case, we would definitely recommend Helen Hotel everyone who wants to explore beautiful island of Poros.
The Manessi is a great hotel and the sea view rooms have amazing views of the beautiful Poros sunsets.
It is perfectly located in the centre of the port to spend hours overlooking the boats in the marina
The staff are so friendly and helpful and Georges is a great host.
We will absolutely come back to Poros just to stay in the Manessi again. We wouldn’t way to stay anywhere else.
A nice part of the island, behind the main Poros town, but near to better and quieter beaches. I hiked around the island using helpful trail maps as there is a large area of pine forests and natural beauty. It is better to stay in this part of Poros if you want to cycle or hike
Very cosy, calm and peaceful family hotel. Perfect place to escape from Athens for couple days. Nice swimming pool and walking distance from the beach. Pretty garden. Many restaurants around. Spacious room with a little kitchen. And a lot of hospitality from the owner.
Hotel Dimitra was perfect for our stay. It started with Joanna at check-in. Her recommendations for beaches and restaurants were “spot on.” The views were spectacular. Breakfast was lovely. Would definitely stay here on a return trip to Poros! Highly recommend!!
The location of the hotel was pretty good. The owner was super helpful and everytime cheerfully welcomed us. The room was clean and tidy and the room with sea view was just fantastic, fascinating..breathtaking from morning to night, you could enjoy whole Poros..
the host was incredibly kind and helpful, gave us a lot of gifts when we arrived, some wine and oranges and helped us with general info about the island. the place was ideally located near town and far away enough for peace. and what a view!!! wowwwww!!
Excellent view and location, very good breakfast, and lovely staff. Also, there was an amazing path like small forest driving to the beach. In my opinion, this hotel has be best view of the island. Additionally, excellent protection against covid-19.
Excellent location, a 15 minute walk from the main part of the island of Poros. The room was clean. The bathroom was very spacious and clean, built in a way that doesn't let the water spill everywhere! The balcony was amazing, with a lot of room!
Mrs. Zefi (the hotel owner) was an outstanding hostess. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, arranged our taxis, and greeted us every morning. Very good location - 10 mins walk to the center of town or to Kanali beach.
The hotel is really nice, located in Poros town. The room we stayed was nicely decorated and had a very nice view on the sea. The owner is a really nice lady, very helpful and kind. The ratio quality/price is also very interesting.
The House was lovely and well represented. Lots of steps to get up to it but the view from the terrace was worth of every step! My partner and I really loved it! I would stay again when ever visiting a beautiful Poros island!
Beautiful house with a lot of charm and great sea views. 30min walk from Poros town. Hosts graciously allowed us to adjust the checkin/checkout dates even after free cancellation period was over.
Very convenient for a young family of four travelling to Poros. Lovely little hotel looking out on the ferries but was not noisy or busy. Also served the best hot chocolate ever tasted.
My room was clean. It had a hot water kettle, coffee maker, fridge, private bathroom, TV. Three minute walk to ferry terminal. Hotel faces harbor. Can look at boats docked.
