If you are seeking a hideaway from Bali’s chaotic Kuta, Ubud provides a welcome respite with its secluded paths, calming temples and specialised spa resorts. Surrounded by rice paddies, coconut trees and lush forests of green, Ubud is seen as the cultural centre of Bali.

Much busier than our last trip (years ago) but still very friendly and beautiful, very relaxing and amazing restaurants and scenery. We came for the yoga and healing and left very relaxed. Heartspace yoga is a beautiful little intimate and inclusive yin yoga centre. Indomai noodles for local cheap and very yummy food. Garden view restaurant right next to monkey forest for amazing food service and view. Plataran view restaurant absolutely beautiful at night. Gisella spa was a favourite for massage during our stay, staff always lovely.

Ubud is a great centralised location to stay to do day trips from. The biggest downfall of Ubud is the traffic. It is always bumper to bumper busy, so when planning activities - take this into account. Also be aware that it is an Instagramers paradise - and you will see hundreds of people looking “beautiful’ taking photos of themself. If you are into ‘being seen’ then this is the place for you. Lots of locations for the perfect “scene or foodie” snap.
