Vico Equense is a great base to explore Sorrento and Pompeii. It is easy to get to. It has some wonderful views over the bay towards Vesuvius and some very pretty alley ways. It is small and nice to walk around.
It is stated that the town is quiet. It is not, a main road runs through it that is very noisy and busy. (We were there in September and found that at early evening time the traffic was none stop). This is not good if you want a quiet meal and drink. We found that most restaurants were overpriced, but saying this we did come across a restaurant called Titos and would recommend them for their excellent service and food.
Areas of the town needed a bit of a clean (litter and weeds) but we could say this about most of Italy.
Major tip to tourists. You cannot book local train tickets on line, they are easy to get at the train station offices, are frequent and cost very little. (They are a little packed though). Do not get the Campania Express - yes you may get a seat, but it is three times the cost of the local trains and total rip off.

A lovely, quaint town, not touristy at all like the neighboring Sorrento and Capri. The only thing it was missing was a taxi, or a bus. We could have used a taxi from the train station, especially when we had all our luggage. We ate at Cerase with a beautiful view of the city, and the food was great!

Not crowded. Nice people.
Not crowded. Nice people. Almost everybody speaks English - which it was a huge plus for us as our Italian is very bad (non-existent to be more precise) :))
The walks to the beaches (as anywhere in that part of Italy) are a bit hard, especially during summer. But (if you make it there), the beaches are not very crowded, which is a huge plus.

A wonderful city.
A wonderful city. Very compact center with many good restaurants. Beautiful views of the sea and Vesuvius. Responsive residents. Nearby are Sorrento, Positano, Capri. Rome is 2.5 hours away. It is hard to imagine a better place to relax!

Nice small town.
Nice small town. Well located to explore the area from Naples to Amalfi. The beaches are so so but I think it is the same for the whole area. Just a few weeks ago my friend was able to use the free public beach next to the Hotel Sporting but that doesn't seem to be an option anymore. We had to pay for the Hotel spot. It was nice though. Not too rocky. Parking in town was a bit of a challenge but we managed. Good restaurants in or near the town square.
This property was perfect for our first trip to Italy. The owner Patrizia was one of the most friendly and inviting hosts we could have asked for, providing every amenity required for cooking, cleaning and living. Externally, the location was perfect. Vico Equense is nestled between the bustling city of Naples and the tourist hotspot of Sorrento, providing a comfortable and authentic stay, with beautiful views and blue seas away from the noise of the outside world.
We really enjoyed our stay at Do'Petro. The Hosts were the nicest people we met during our time in Italy. They were very helpful when we had problems with our rental car and gave good advise about activities and restaurants in the area.
The garden/pool area is super charming and quiet. We loved spending time there.
The room was super clean, stylish and comfortable!
Breakfast was the best we had in Italy!
Perfect, if you want an authentic stay in Italy this is your place, it’s just outside of Vico but you feel as if you are living the local life, the gentleman and his family that run this apartment are incredibly nice and welcoming, they gave us recommendations on food and drinks, helped with anything we needed. If we came back to Vico we would absolutely stay here again.
All the vacations was perfect, the service on the hotel was perfect, all of them was very nice and available for every question we had. The location was perfect and there is a bus station near the hotel. Also there is a very good pizza next to the hotel and 2 min walk from a supermarket!
Also the breakfast was perfect!
Very recommend about this place!
Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful; lovely pool and view; great breakfast; very clean and well organised hotel. Located in Vico Equense which is just a really nice Italian town handy for everything without the hoard of tourists you find in Sorrento etc.
