On Sicily’s eastern coast, at the foot of Mount Etna, Catania is the island’s second largest city. This charming destination features unique Sicilian Baroque architecture, large squares, avenues and a very important port.
On the northern side of the Cathedral Square, the historical Palazzo degli Elefanti houses the Town Hall of Catania. Dedicated to Saint Agata and built over the Roman Baths of Achilles, the Duomo has an impressive facade that is one of Gia Battista Vaccarini’s masterpieces. The cathedral’s dome dates to 1802, while in the vaulted interior is the grave of the well-known composer Vincenzo Bellini.
Facing the Ionian Sea, this beautiful seaside place is one the hottest Italian cities during the summer. Mount Etna is an active volcano and a nice place for skiing in winter or a trip to the solidified rivers of lava during the rest of the year.

Catania was the last day of a 2 week Sicily tour, and was a disappointment. There seemed to be no pride in the city at all, and very little history on show. Accepting that you can’t make style out of nothing, we wished we’d spent our last day elsewhere! Even yhe bus tour revealed little of visual interest.
The hotel was booked for an early flight out on Monday, and was very clean and tidy, with a balcony view of Etna. We would stay again if flying in to Etna, but be aware the 1.6m taxi ride was 30 euros.

There is so much to see I wished we could have stayed for 3-4 days but not in summer. Already in the beginning of June it was hot.
I really dislike the amount of trash everywhere and the smell of cars as well as the fact that there are so many cars in the city center.

Catania - it's up to the part of the city.
Catania - it's up to the part of the city. City center and port are not very astonishing, building in reconstruction, closed shops and trash on the street, especially during easter holidays when many places were closed. The parks and monuments ok, good location for excursions to Etna, Taormina, Siracusa and not far from the airport. Nice restaurants, good food but not all options for breakfast were open. We got to the beach by bus as it seemd to be impossible on foot due to industrial and port area.

The historical center of Catania; nice and relatively well maintained, with the Cathedral and the elephant fountain.
The renowned fish market; a bit chaotic and not well maintained.
Strolling through via dei Crociferi to enjoying the beautiful Sicilian baroque architecture.
Finally relaxing a bit at the villa Bellini.
Excursion to the Etna, not to be missed!

It is interesting place to visit.
It is interesting place to visit. There is sightsenig at least for one day. Lots of places where you can eat. Fish market and also big market with everything from clothes and similar articals. It is easy to get on the bus in central bus station in the center.
We made 2,5 weeks trip in Sicily. Catania is our first stop and this hotel is the best one among all accommodations we had (hotels / B&B / Holiday apartment).
It is a small palace, with wonderful sometimes very brave art pieces. There are also plenty of common spaces like balcony/ terrace, kitchen / dining room and living room..
The hotel is in the heart of everything - sometimes you may hear pedestrian noise, though not a big problem for us.
The breakfasts were also well-served on the balcony.
We like this hotel!
Luigi makes your stay like at 5 star hotel. Everyday he served delicious local specials for breakfast, he was always recommending best restaurants with local food in Catania and places to visit. Even gave us a ride to airport and to a bus station for a road trip. If you wanted to know anything about Siciliy, you have to ask Luigi! And almost forgot to say, La Casa di Luigi is located in quiet area of Catania with nice beach San Giovanni Licuti located 2min walking away. Sea view from window is a bonus as well!
The setting of Nèroli Bio Relais is lovely, peaceful and much appreciated after a day of sightseeing in and around the entire southeast side of Sicily. It is an easy drive to Catania airport – even for our early am departure back to the US.
The staff and the chef go out of their way to make you comfortable and meet any needs you may have. The chef stayed late and on his supposed day off to prepare soup for four weary travelers that needed a little TLC (we were fortunate to be invited by another couple).
An excellent place before or after a flight and I would add - even beyond that - the distance to the center of Catania is very short. And even this apartment can be used as a starting point for a trip with a car in Sicily, a well-maintained and well-furnished apartment in all respects. Near consumers, restaurants and a cafeteria. Walking distance of about 10 minutes from the airport. The owner of the apartment - a wonderful and kind woman who will help you in everything.
Perfect location - very short walk from the main sightseeings, but very quiet at night. They have indoor parking right next to the hotel. The breakfast was amazing - a lot of options and everything was super delicious! The lady at the front office - Paola is amazing! The most kind and helpful person we met during our Sicily trip! It was lovely meeting and chatting with her. If we ever get back to Catania we will definitely stay there again. Thank you, Paola!
We used this as a cheap stop over before an early morning flight out of Catania and it worked for that. They have a restaurant that made us a pretty good dinner on our schedule and they made us a take away breakfast which actually came in handy. Note to those turning in a car at 5:00 in the morning, on the way to the airport there was only one gas station open and it was the last one on the right and it did not show up on any of my maps.
This was our second stay at Sicily Luxury B&B: we began and ended our six weeks in southern Italy here. As noted in the previous review, everything about this lodging is great: breakfasts, location, facilities, and staff. Paid street parking easily available within a 5-10 minute walk. Highly recommended as a base for exploring Catania, Taormina, Messina (don't miss the Caravaggios in the Regional Museum there), and Etna.
Our room had a very beautiful aesthetic of Sicily, the garden was a lovely touch to have your breakfast! The room was very clean .Everyone was very helpful and kind ! Great location in about 20 minutes by walking from the centre or 5 minutes with taxi (cheap taxis in Catania) . We suggest Inn the Garden Guest House as a very beautiful location in Catania ! Thank you for everything!
We were picked up at Catania airport by hotel staff. Easy drop off at hotel and fortunately staff carried our luggage up the three flights of stairs. Similarly, we were collected 7.30am prompt and dropped off at airport. Overall, cheap and convenient for one overnight (late and early flights). Local facilities (pizzeria and cafe) were very good.
We were not lost for any info whatsoever. Our hosts went beyond to make our experience in Catania memorable. We couldn’t have asked for any better location to explore the beauty of the downtown area! We’ve travelled many different places in Europe and if in Sicily, Catania this location is
#1. We will definitely return in the near future!
We flew in to Catania airport after midnight so we booked this hotel to stay overnight before travelling on. It was perfect because we were able to walk there from the airport. Keypad entry and lockbox with key made getting in very easy. Good communication with the property on how to get in/check out. Very cute room.
Hotel is located in walking distance from the airport. Rooms are renovated, clean and modern. Owner is very helpful! All appliances are available. If you come for just a few nights to Catania and to continue your journey in Sicily, this place is the best!
Hotel close to the airport, with the shuttle service close to hotel.
It's not walking distance from Catania centre, having a car is ideal. as taxi is around €25 - €30 per way. Hotel has its own parking with no extra charge
The personnel is doing everything and beyond to help guests have the most out of their stay in Catania and Sicily and that adds a very personal touch compared to what one is used to with big hotels :-). Thank you!
First time in Sicily, first time in Catania. The owner was extremely helpful and kind. The property is in a perfect spot. Strongly recomend do take in consideration when choosing Catania for Your holida.
Giulia and Paolo were super welcoming! They picked us up from the airport and gave us so many great tips for Catania and Sicily. We had the best Sicilian food thanks to them :)
very nice little hotel in Catania .. Great restaurant suggestions..very quiet. Staff very accommodating with our early departure. Arranged a car the the airport for us..
The breakfast was the best I've had here in Sicily at a hotel or b&b. I live here so I've been to many and this was the best by far. Pepe is the absolute best!!
