Vico Equense is a small but lively town, very easily walkable, and with great connections to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Sorrento and more by train or taxi. We especially liked that it was not as crowded as other towns near the Amalfi Coast, yet has many opportunities to walk and see the surrounding area. We stayed at the Cubo Apartments, near the town center and loved it. We found some delightful walking paths, both down to the beach area and into the olive groves on the outskirts of town, as well as being able to walk the streets. We visited a number of restaurants, including La Salumaria, a great place for local beer, excellent appetizers and full meals, just off the town square. Gabrielle's is a popular walk-in place for sweets, sandwiches and gelatos, with excellent variety and service - a local favorite! A hidden jewel is the Museum of Minerology, also near the town center and with easy access. We spent several fascinating hours there, and were treated like special guests! We would go back to Vico Equense in a heartbeat!

Vico Equense is a charming town reaching from the coast up into the hills. It has plenty of restaurants ( a pizza restaurant which serves metre long pizzas )and stores and the best gelato place! The train will take you anywhere or take a bus but for sure wander the quaint streets and alleyways. Easy to fall in love with Vico.

Vico Equense is a charming little town with not too many tourists - at least not when we were there in April. The people were generally friendly and could speak english. It is a short 10 minute train trip from Vico Equense to Sorrento and about half an hour to Pompei.

Vico Equense is a small quiet town that is full of friendly and kind locals. Me and my family were so pleased that we picked Vico Equense over Sorrento for our stay. You will like Vico Equense if you like having a morning run up to the hill or down to the beach. We were so lucky that we could join the triennial Good Friday Procession at Vico Equense, it was just an amazing experience. If you like gelato (who doesn't!?), do try the brioche con gelato at Gelateria Gabrielle, it is so nice and you can choose two flavours! For restaurants, we love eating at Ristorante al buco; we went there twice during our one-week stay! Vico Equense is just a beautiful place, it doesn't take you long to get to the busy Sorrento, Pompeii and Naples Central. So yes, for us, just perfect!

Use local bus services and trains, cheap and reliable. Roads are choc-a-bloc!
Fab port, hire a boat to take you around the coast of Sorrento and Almalfi or take a ferry. It’s a great place and a lot quieter than Sorrento etc.

Vico Equense was the perfect launch point to see other places on the Amalfi Coast. The city itself is small, but has numerous restaurants, a beautiful beach and a lovely viewpoint and likely other attractions that I did not encounter. I chose this destination as I sought an affordable apartment with a kitchen for our stay. I love eating out while traveling, but I also greatly enjoy the food markets and being able to purchase local food and wine and enjoying it with a view - especially at the end of long day of sightseeing. Vico Equense is definitely a walking city. It is also incredibly easy to catch the train and/or bus to get to other sites. I would definitely stay here again.
The apartment is in Vico Equense, which a perfect location. The city is busy, but not overly crowded. There are a lot of restaurants and shops near the apartment. Its a five minute walk to the train station, so it’s easy to get to Sorrento, Pompeii and Naples. The apartment has a small kitchen, the shower has plenty of hot water and there is air conditioning. Teresa and her father were kind and welcoming. We stayed for one week and thoroughly enjoyed our time in this area and at the Penisola Apartment.
The apartments are just amazing, clean and comfortable with air conditioning. We chose apartments with a sea view and were satisfied with it.
The location is very convenient with in a few minutes walk from a cozy Vico Equense city centre. The train station is just in front of the house from where you can reach Sorrento in just 10min or Pompeii about 20min from Vico.
Rosaria was very helpful with recommendations and you just need to listen to her and take her advices😉
The room was clean and tidy. Additional pillows and blankets were available directly without need to ask the reception.
The view from balcony (sea side) was breathtaking.
Although tricky to reach from Naples Airport or Central Train Station (1 hour + train ride with the Circumvesuviana) the hotel is less than 5 minutes away from the station.
Nearby bars and restaurant also make the location ideal (the Hotel also provides its own restaurant services).
Everything was as described in the booking material for this house. There were adequate linens, towels, cookware. The air condition, washing machine and other appliances were in good condition. The views of the bay were beautiful from the house. We enjoyed swimming and sunning at the local Bikini Beach. The drive from our stay to downtown Vico Equense seemed less than 10 minutes. We used the train from Vico Equense to visit Sorrento.
Beautiful hotel with amazing scenery and views. Staff were really friendly and helpful. 6 of us even got stranded one evening in Vico Equense centre (the shuttle bus didn't turn up) and the hotel sorted it all out to get us collected and brought back to the hotel. Breakfast is lovely on their terrace also the pool area is great and lots of space and sun beds for everyone. They have a free shuttle bus to the beach and centre as well.
Vico Equense is located in the middle between visiting Napoli and Pompei and on the other side all the Amalfi coast.
The hosts, Maria and Pepe are wonderful people, and very helpful. They gave us recommendations for restaurants at Sorento and in Vico Equense (Mustaffa, was delicious) and even booked for us.
Pepe is a great chef and makes the most delicious Corneto for breakfast.
Caterina and the staff are just amazing people. She was always there to help us and she made sure we had the best stay possible. The breakfast has everything you can dream of (and more). In summary it was one of the highlights from our vacation in Italy!
Thank you Caterina for the amazing stay 🥰
The cat called Petra is also very cute!
The breakfast was one of the best touring our 16 day trip around Italy. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff at the reception was really amazing. Parking/garage is just around the corner (just 10 eur per day). This hotel is a perfect base to explore the Amalfi coast or Pompeii and Vesuvio.
the property is in a great location, right in the centre of the town. breakfast is included but it is at the hotel at the top of the hill - so it is a bit of climb (or they will collect you if you need a lift). the breakfast is great with lists of choice. the staff are really friendly and helpful.
It was comfortable, clean, and a quiet location. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay great. They provided a wonderful breakfast and it was great to chat with them and learn a little about this area of Italy. They even gave us a tour of the garden area! We would return in a heartbeat.
The hotel is beautiful! We visited in the middle of august but it still managed not to feel super crowded. The rooms feel new and clean. It is accesible with no car, and the breakfast was great (very complete for italy). Also, killer Bloody Mary :D The beach club is super cool.
Lovely home.
We think this place second home in Italy.
Vico equence is perfect hub to travel Sorrento, Positano and Capri!
We rented a car and parked near accomodation(Host offer free parking place).
Best thing in this place is free snacks!!
We enjoyed that!!
Thank you!!
I loved Vico Equense. Le ancore is a small hotel with 7 rooms run exceptionally well and it has magnificent views of the marina.. The staff are so kind and genuinely look after the needs of the guests. Special mention to Giuilia and Dario. I look forward to a return visit.
The view from the hotel is magnificent! The staff makes the stay extra comfortable - we got collected from Andrea from the train station which makes our life easier especially with a small baby.
We couldn't have a better welcome stay in Italy! The whole host family was extremely nice and hospitable, apartment was spacious, clean, and the freshly picked veggies tasted simply delicious!
It’s very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served daily in the basement of the hotel which is also very nice and clean. Luca always is very accommodating and available to answer questions.
The breakfast is great with lots of fresh fruit
Vico Equense is a terrific location.
The pool area is really nice. The walk to the pier and the option to swim in the sea is fantastic.
A nice hotel with a good location and a very beautiful view. Breakfast is OK and as expected. During the evening you can have a good and nice view. There is a free parking and WI-FI
