A darling of Shakespeare, beautiful Verona is the literary home of Romeo and Juliet. The medieval families of Montague and Capulet immortalized in the tragic play did actually exist and some buildings relating to the Montagues are still present.
Sorry to disappoint, but the place purporting to have been Juliet's house in Verona was not actually where she lived. However, it’s still worth suspending reality for a while and stepping out onto the balcony to see if Romeo turns up.
Another of the must-see Verona sights is the Arena, a largely intact Roman amphitheater which is now the spectacular setting for outdoor summer operas. Smaller Roman relics include the stone bridge that crosses the river by the Roman theater whose remains are partly beneath a house.
The city’s narrow streets house many cafes and restaurants which have cheaper fare than the touristy ones by the Arena, although admittedly the views are less impressive. Life in Verona is laid back and elegant, so expect to see some well-heeled Italians on a post-dinner passeggiata.
Verona Airport is a little out of town, so you’ll need to take a bus to get to your Verona hotel, apartment or B&B. Book with Booking.com for the best choice.
The location was perfect for sightseeing. A very short walk to the arena, shopping, restaurants, cafes and bars.
Very clean, quiet and comfortable.
Highly recommend it and would stay there again if we visit Verona in the future.

Verona was a pure delight, beautiful architecture, some very good restaurants if you move away from the main square Piazza Delle Erbe; good transport links with trains and taxis in abundance...
Excellent opportunities to attend the Arena for Opera programme.
Some restaurants we experienced that were excellent - Osteria
"Le Deccete" where I tried the Burrata with citrus fruits as a starter; Osteria Mondo D'Oro where my starter was the delicious pea and courgette flowers; Osteria Scudo di Francia where the primi dish of pasta ragu with truffle was delicious; (I've stayed focussed on starters, to give viewers a brief insight to some of the
excellent types of food available)...
The Family run Aurora Hotel centrally placed, was an absolutely great choice for our hotel, a sheer delight, wonderful breakfasts with helpful staff every day; rooms were excellently cleaned by friendly staff; all in all just a fabulous experience and one we shall return to...

Verona is a beautiful city with stunning architecture and lots to marvel at. I found the locals to be very friendly and helpful. It has a relaxed vibe and full of energy. I spent 4 nights and managed to travel to Venice, one hour by train, and Lake Garda, 15 minutes by train. I could easily have spent 2 weeks in Verona to lap up the marvelous atmosphere. Surprisingly, most restaurants and cafes were reasonably priced and the smaller restaurants along the many side streets provided fantastic food.

City is full of history, traceable from Roman, through Medieval to Renaissance in its atmospheric architecture. Very compact city, allowing for discovery of special restaurants and bars, many of which serve craft beers and good quality wines from NE Italy. Makes a good base for visiting wineries and lakes. We did Valpolicella, including an e-bike tour in Valpolicella and a trip to Trentino with its regional wines. Food and wine tour on the first day was a good way to familiarise yourself with the city. Maffei museum has some great art from Middle Ages to 20th century. Peperino pizzeria makes great Neapolitan pizzas and even serves craft beers in ice-buckets, like wine. Osteria Scudo di Francia is up a quaint side-street and serves authentic food in comfortable and hospitable surroundings at about £45 a head for 2 courses and a glass of good house wine.
Very close to the train station. Well maintained and renovated facilities. Friendly staff. Google Maps might show a long and incorrect walk route from the station. When you get out of the station, just go to the far left of the sidewalks towards the hotel. There are both stairs and wheel chair accessible ramps towards the hotel. The bus station in front of the station is really good for travellers. The 10 Euro day pass covers the whole Verona, Garda Lake and the airport shuttle for the next day (even after the day pass expires at midnight).
Lovely building in a great location, it was nicely decorated, clean and spacious. We really liked the room and the mini bar was a nice touch and cheap! The city centre was about an 8 minute walk right to the centre so absolutely perfect. The hosts were very friendly and gave us some great advice on getting to the hotel from the airport. There was ample space to hand and store clothes and cases and the shower was lovely as well, powerful and nice temperature. The room itself was nice and clean with everything we could need for a short stay.
we absolutely loved our stay at casa corvina! we spent two nights here when first arriving to Italy - the location could not be more perfect for spending our time exploring verona. Andrea was a fabulous host who met us and helped us with our bags, made some great recommendations and even helped get us a dinner reservation at one of his favorite restaurants. beautiful views from the apartment, at all times of the day! we would stay here again without a moments hesitation should we ever return to verona.
Apartment Rosso Verona was our best experience so far in Italy.
The apartment itself caters well for 4 people, is very well located, clean, well equipped and in excellent condition.
However, it is necessary to talk about hospitality. Giuzeppe and Cristina are a wonderful couple and provide excellent service, in an attentive and personal way.
Thank you Giuzeppe & Cristina for making our days in Verona the best.
Silvia made my stay the most comfortable I have ever been whilst traveling solo. Her attention to detail and dedication to her service showed in everything that she did! Recommending amazing places to visit and eat, along with taking me to the station on my last day. The breakfast provided was exceptional so was her knowledge of Verona. Verona is now one of my favorite places in Italy ❤️🇮🇹
This was a decent location for a walk into Verona if you have a car and don’t want to drive in the ZTL. Parking facility was very secure, and Hotel was easy to navigate to (there’s a reserved parking spot for temp check in). Shower was nice, good pressure, hot water. It’s not luxury, but it’s nice enough to stay for a night or two to explore Verona (if that’s what you’re really there for).
The hotel really exceeded our expectations. From the big luxury room, comfortable bed to the great location, only 5 mins walk from main sightseeings (but on a quiet street). The staff was super polite and helpful. All you can expect from a 5 star hotel. And last but not least - a fabulous breakfast served till 11 for late birds like us. Just don’t hesitate - book it.
The hotel is one block from Piazza Bra. Driving a car is an issue with arrival and parking. Very small parking facility. Breakfast does not start until 8:00 AM. The car cannot be retrieved from the parking facility until 7:30 AM so if you have early travel requirements take note. The hotel and staff is very typical of larger hotels in Italy.
The location was excellent! Such a perfect Italy moment at this stay! The location is right on Piazza Bra so there was live string music playing outside as well as sweet little bistros with outside seating and guests laughing. For our first time in Italy, we were absolutely captivated by Verona and the location couldn’t have been more perfect!
I loved the location and the design and the room was quite big and comfortable . Overall is a great hotel in an amazing location but being one of the 2 most expensive hotels in Verona a was expecting a little bit more being also a 5 star hotel. Staff was nice and available but was missing that familiarity you expect from an exceptional stay.
My last two nights in Italy were in Verona --- a perfect place to end my vacation. Dreaming Suite is in a perfect location. Imagine walking out the front door, turn to your right and have the Verona Arena right in front of you! The room itself was very comfortable and a great space to rest after a day of walking around beautiful Verona.
Beautiful classic Italian hotel, fantastic setting, full of interesting classic Italian furniture , loved every minute there, staff were lovely and very helpful, fabulous pool, and only a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of the enchanting Verona. A must see, must try, best breakfast on our tour of Italy, thank you Antonio!
This stunning small hotel was a highlight of my Italy trip! Decorated in modern Italian, antiques and kitsch with a lovely breakfast spread. The bed was so comfy I did not want to leave. Staff was welcoming and fun as I tried to use my basic Italian-- they, of course, spoke perfect English. Verona is a sweet town.
The Hotel Accademia is centrally located to many of the sites in Verona. The room was a good size, had good closet space and the mattress was exceptional - I would have brought it home! We didn't particularly like the decor of the room, but it's in good condition. The air conditioning works well.
10 to 15 minute walk to the city center and 5 minute from the train station. It costs less than 30 EUR or 15 minutes from the Verona Airport. The hotel has an inside parking. Breakfast was very good and hotel people are all friendly. It is a value for money hotel.
booked during a airport strike. Our train journey was unexpectedly terminated in Verona. booked late in the evening. Verona is a busy town and this hotel was priced competitively. very clean room which was comfortable. when I come back to Verona I will rebook
Great location and such an oasis! So relaxing to get away from the crowds that we had been around the rest of that week! Beat dinner we had in Italy! Even got to give our compliments to the chef!
Nice hotel, room was a bit small but exactly what was advertised. Really nice option walking distance to Verona city center. Lobby area was very nice, as well as the breakfast.
A good hotel in terms of location, comfort, breakfast, the bathroom looks very good. The breakfast is ok, it does not excel in anything, but it is correct for Italy.
