Vallicciola Nature Hotel in Monte Limbara proved to be an enchanting retreat for my wife and me. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality from the whole team, especially Antonella, Francesco, and Antonio, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.
The hotel's serene location amidst the stunning natural beauty of Monte Limbara was a sight to behold. The panoramic views of lush forests and rolling hills left us in awe. Our room was tastefully designed, exuding a rustic charm that perfectly complemented the surrounding environment.
Throughout our stay, we indulged in delectable culinary delights prepared with locally sourced ingredients. The flavorsome dishes showcased the region's gastronomic delights, and we couldn't help but savor every bite.
The activities offered by the hotel were diverse and engaging. We explored the area through guided hikes and were rewarded with breathtaking vistas. Additionally, we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the tranquil ambiance of the spa, which was a blissful experience after a day of exploration.
But what truly made our stay remarkable was the personal touch and attention to detail that the staff provided. They anticipated our needs and preferences, making us feel truly valued as guests. Whether it was arranging a surprise anniversary celebration or providing insightful tips for local excursions, their dedication was unparalleled.
As we bid farewell to Vallicciola Nature Hotel, we couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the unforgettable memories created during our stay. The serene ambiance, delectable cuisine, and the warm hospitality of Antonella, Francesco, Antonio, and the entire team made this experience one we will cherish forever. We left with rejuvenated spirits, promising to return to this little slice of paradise in the heart of Monte Limbara.

Upon arrival at the hotel, you were shocked to find rats in your room. This is not only highly unsanitary but also poses a serious health risk. The presence of rats indicates a severe lack of proper hygiene and pest control measures in the establishment.
Furthermore, the room was in an unacceptable state of cleanliness. The bed, bathroom, and walls were marred with unsightly stains and dirt. A hotel room should be a clean and comfortable space for guests to relax, but your experience at Pausania Inn was the complete opposite.
In addition to the cleanliness issues, there were several other concerning aspects of the hotel room. The air conditioning was faulty, leaving the room uncomfortably hot and stuffy. The water pressure in the shower was insufficient, making it challenging to take a proper shower. The furniture was worn-out and in dire need of replacement.
The lack of soundproofing in the room resulted in constant noise disturbances, making it challenging to get a good night's sleep. The overall ambiance of the hotel was unpleasant, with outdated and shabby decor throughout the common areas.
Moreover, the hotel staff displayed a lack of professionalism and responsiveness. When you brought the issues to their attention, they were unhelpful and dismissive, failing to address your concerns adequately. As a paying guest, you deserved better treatment and prompt resolution of the problems you encountered.
We want to express our extreme disappointment with our recent stay at your hotel. Upon arrival, we encountered severe issues, including rats in the room and an overall unclean environment. Due to these unacceptable conditions, we made the decision to leave immediately and did not spend a single night at your property.
We are formally requesting a refund for the entirety of our reservation as the experience was entirely unsatisfactory and rendered the accommodation uninhabitable.

Mavi was so sweet, welcoming, and helpful. She really made our stay here a great experience. The fresh herbs in her garden and flowers all around (it was spring) and the view onto the town from her location were all part of it also. We loved it here.

Our host was very attentive- she even cleaned and organized our room. She doesn’t speak English but was very friendly and used google translate to communicate. Breakfast was great- croissant, fruit, yogurt, bread and salami. AC worked very well - important for August. The outdoor space where we ate breakfast was very cute and comfortable. Good location- just a 5 minute walk from the restaurants and shops.

Breakfast was at the nearby Caffe Orientale. I'm not sure what we could get but the coffee and cornetti were excellent. The bathroom is spacious and very nice. Shower is excellent.
Tempio sits on a hilltop overlooking the granite peaks...
Tempio sits on a hilltop overlooking the granite peaks behind Aggius in the west and Monte Limbara to the SE; it is a mix of old and new, the core characterised by a warren of small narrow streets hemmed in by granite-built old-style houses, many with balconies. The lanes are studded with bars and small restaurants and offer some coolness to escape the summer sun. The cobbles would be a challenge to high heels, but the core is quite small and walkable easily.
Local food is really good, from pizza (Il Trenino), to light lunches (Living) and the more traditional Sardinian dishes (Trattoria La Gallurese - order the snails/lumache); bars are cheap and service is mostly great (Living, New Chopin, Caffe' de Piazza), although one or two places are glacially slow (Bar de Museum - but fantastic pasta!).
It seems a very happy town and the locals that somehow understood my broken Italian were welcoming and many spoke some English to help me out.
There are numerous small and large parks affording shade and tranquility and to outer this, there is a bar - Risen - that caters for the young and plays plenty of party music, which was fun, but I didn't last until the advertised 4am closure...
We had originally booked into the Pausania Inn, but left after a night and booked into the New Petit Hotel: a friendly place with smallish rooms but with great views over Aggius and just on the edge of the old town, so perfectly located for accessing the town without a 1.75km walk from the other hotel.

Tempio has an attractive old town.
Tempio has an attractive old town. There was a music festival the night we were there, so it was hard to find a table in a restaurant and very loud.
We particularly liked the agriturismo style restaurant next to the Nuraghi Maiori, about 2km North of town. The pipistrelle bats in the Nuraghe had just had babies.
Tempio stays cooler than the rest of Sardinia so it’s good place to go in a heat wave.

A fascinating historic town away from the more popular beaches and resorts.
With quaint streets and shops it has the feel of a place yet to be spoilt by tourists.
Pedestrianised areas allow you to focus on the history as you walk the streets and sample the many little bars and restaurants.
Probably not a place to stay if you are looking for night clubs and discos, but more of a traditional Sardinian town.

Beautiful, charming city, packed with old buildings.
Beautiful, charming city, packed with old buildings. It is large enough that there is a decent selection of restaurants and cafés.
The area is quite green compared to other areas of Sardinia - drive west towards Castelsardo to get a glimpse of the cork tree woods, with the bark peeled off the lower part.
PS: We drove through Aggius, near Tempio, and it looked so beautiful. Wish we had time for a proper visit.

The B&B is in a peaceful location with a splendid open view of the town of Tempio Pausania. My host and her friend Cecilia were delightfully welcoming and friendly. They also understood some English, which was a great help. I found my double room for two nights very comfortable, pleasantly appointed, and spotlessly clean,. My "sweet" Italian breakfast, whilst modest by British standards, was quite nice, with some welcome ingredients such as orange juice, fresh toasted bread, cakes and (on my second day) crepes.
The location is very good for exploring northern Sardinia.
Pool is nice with a wonderful relaxed pool area and atmosphere in the middle of the mountains, they even have hammocks between the trees.
Super quiet area, very relaxing.
Staff was always friendly and helpful.
A beautiful, comfortable and clean house with a special atmosphere. A snooker table is available in the main room. Unfortunately, no wi-fi, but that did not impact a great time in the house. Also, a good location near the Tempio Pausania city centre.
Lovely Hotel in a remote area.
Friendly and very helpful personnel!
They knew their guests quite well and tried their best to overcome the language barriers! I don‘t speak any Italian so that was extremly convenient for me. Grazie 1000!
The hotel has everything one can wish: nice spacious rooms, a large swimming pool, a restaurant and even a centre of the city within walking distance. It is a good place from which one can explore to surrounding country side.
The best place if you look for tranquility. Service is exceptional. Very friendly staff and great cuisine thanks to chef Luca and Constantine. I will definitely come back on my next trip to Sardinia. ❤️
The hotel is placed in the middle of the woods, at the top of the hill. It is peaceful and quiet place where you can charge your batteries. Food is good and staff is friendly and caring.
Squeaky clean (if I had to choose one hotel floor to eat from, this would be the one) - new and nice interior- restaurant downstairs one of the highest rated in Tempio (TripAdvisor)
Good location close by the center of Tempio Pausania.
The host was very kind and helpful.
The breakfast was stunning, so much food, lot of homemade pies, lovely.
