Very varied breakfasts and interesting arrangement of the restaurant itself. Great view onto the marina (worth paying extra for "seaview" room, even though we stayed one night).

Il Gabbiano was the first hotel on the island of La Maddalena, built in 1955. It offers beautiful views of the crystal clear sea and the islands of Caprera, Santo Stefano and Spargi.

The location is spectacular. Positioned just 13 min walk from the city center and with a stunning view of the harbor on the left and sunset on the right. Sleeping with the window open gave us the possibility to fall asleep with the sound of the waves. The restaurant on the ground floor, despite the few reviews on Google Maps has great pizza (I am Italian and I also make pizza) so trust me

La Maddalena is such a beautiful island, loved the geology of the island and felt very comfortable in the town. We also spent a day on Isola do Caprera and though this was incredibly beautiful too - such stunning beaches, great walks and remarkable historical sites.

We were there 4 nights.
We were there 4 nights. We ate at the "off the beaten track" restaurants and a couple little pubs. It's easy to get around on foot or by car. Research boat tours before going, I think I would book a small sailboat tour next time as opposed to a large boat. A car is helpful to getting around the Island and visiting different beaches.

Loved it, wish I had more time.
Loved it, wish I had more time. If you can hire a car, I'd recommend that so you can get to all the beautiful beaches. Go for a sail tour also! So many options for restaurants. I stayed 2 nights, could have easily stayed 4 min. Lots of music & entertainment. Enjoy!

Beautiful beaches and great atmosphere.
Beautiful beaches and great atmosphere. A lot of night life and a great corso with restaurants and shops. However, it is a bit too touristy for me which also drives up the prices compared to less known but equally good parts of Sardinia (like Orosei).

We had the top floor Panorma suite with 2 balconies and a sea view. It was well equipped and the kitchenette had everything you need for a short stay. It was all spotlessly clean. The staff were welcoming and spoke excellent English and gave us lots of information. The included breakfast was great, fresh fruit, pastries, cereals , cooked options and fresh coffee served in an outside courtyard. We hired one of the hotels boats for a day to tour the islands and would thoroughly recommend that as a way to access the wonderful small islands and beaches in the area. It is about a 20 minute walk into the town along the coast road for lots of restaurants and bars.
Location was excellent. Right in front of the Ferry entry/exit and perfectly located near restaurants /laundry service and the quaint streets of La Maddalena. It's a great place to base yourself as you explore the archipelago and adjoining Caprera island. Davido was an excellent at reception, helping us above and beyond when we had an issue with our passports. The breakfast served each morning was generous with the most beautiful sunrise view. We had a very enjoyable stay here and we will return.
The best choice we made. The apartment is close to everything in La Maddalena, the port, the restaurants and the bakeries, etc. It's equipped with more than you can imagine and while being small, it's super comfortable and it offers just enough space for a pleasant stay. Our host was very friendly and caring, we felt welcomed even before we actually checked in. Do not hesitate if you' re thinking about booking it.
The hotel is more than walking distance from La Maddalena, it is a modern building a bit strangely located, no beach but a small swimming pool at the back of the hotel, the staff is very polite and welcoming, the breakfast buffet is very good, with some local specialties of high standard (cheese for instance, butter biscuits, etc), the rooms are with a very nice finish, high quality furniture and faucets.
The host Simone sent us a lot of tips about La Maddalena by message and we used this info during our stay, it was super helpful (best restaurants and bars, best beaches and spots and ferry information).
The breakfast has a lot of sweet homemade options from Sardinia.
The room was super clean and well refurbished, you can see the place is recently open so it has space for improvement.
