Sestri Levante is a very nice town with a historical centre and full of beaches (many of them unfortunately private). There is all infrastructure needed for visitors. Not so far away from the town centre are also free parking sites (paid parking in the town) and everything is close by. Nice places to see are simply reached, for example, by train - Portofino, Camoglia, Cinque Terre, or by car - Genova, Pisa, Lucca, La Spezia and other.MartinSlovakia - 10Scored 10

It has 2 long beaches (private and public) It is close to Cinque Terre and Portofino, which can be reached by boat and train., It has sandy (dark) beaches, great food and affordable restaurants. When you arrive at train station the houses around does not...
When you arrive at train station the houses around does not look so pleasant - but when you walk 500 metres to the old town you will get an total different view - very nice look with typical small and old streets. Sestri Levante is also a very good starting point for day trips to Cinque Terre og Portofine etc.

We are not fans of the way Italy carves up its beaches, and...
We are not fans of the way Italy carves up its beaches, and forces you to pay to access the sea, which is why we generally stayed by the hotel pool. Having said that, Sestri Levante is a very pretty resort, and has loads of beach options along the front. Restaurants were plentiful along the streets behind the main beach front, and we ate at Osteria Mattana which was excellent, serving home made local dishes.AlanUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

It’s a wonderful place to stay. Great staff, terrific breakfast atop the hotel with a view of both bays and it’s within walking distance to everything. It’s a bit pricey but it was worth it for my family’s enjoyment

Sestri Levante was easy to access, lots of lovely restaurants. We enjoy seafood & there was plenty of that ! ‘Polpo Mario’ was one very good restaurant . The ambience around the ‘Bay of Silence’ by our Hotel was great. The only beachfront we would avoid was the big one round the corner.STEPHENUnited Kingdom

It was perfect and the owners were were very friendly, providing me with a bottle of wine and some soap powder for the washing machine. I enjoyed my 4 nights stay there, saw the Giro d'Italia pass by the front door and found it easy to tour around Cinque Terre and visit Sestri Levante. Very nice being able to cook some meals when staying for 4 nights.

The staff is very gentle, the management is very reasonable and tries to accomodate client’s wishes as much as possible. Highly suggested are Room 311 (if you are looking for a small room) and Room 315 (if you are looking for a large one): these rooms have an absolutely stunning view to the “Baia del Silenzio” and both have a balcony.

The location at Sestri Levante is great when visiting Cinque terre because you can hop on the train at Sestri Levante station directly to Cinque terre (parking at the train station is a little bit tricky...) and it's near of Portofino.
