Perfect location. La Spezia isn't the most beautiful city in Italy by a longshot, but the hotel is in the nicest area and is just five minutes by foot from the train station... making it absolutely ideal for taking the extremely convenient train to visit the Cinque Terre. The hotel itself is modern, clean, calm and staffed by rather extraordinarily nice staff.

Le Ville Relais, Allegroitalia La Spezia 5 Terre, and Hotel Nella got great room view-related reviews from travelers in La Spezia.
La Spezia is one of those typical cities of the Liguria Region where colourful houses cover hills and cliffs, providing panoramic views over the sea. Thousands of years of history and a heart open towards the sea have shaped the character of this town surrounded by the 'Cinque Terre'.
Located on the coast of the namesake gulf, its proximity to Genoa has greatly influenced its development and culture. Take a walk uphill from the harbour, and admire the display of architectonic styles in the Old Town. Some of the best hotels in La Spezia are located here, while elegant guesthouses and villas with gulf views can be found in the highest areas.
Must-see sites in the city are the 13th-century Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St George’s Castle. The ‘Sea Festival’ is organized every summer, and its highlight is the rowing competition ‘Palio del Golfo’, a race between the 13 villages of the gulf. Departing from the port of La Spezia, boats can take you to the enchanted ‘Cinque Terre’.
The harbour is a 15-minute walk from La Spezia Central Station, and Genoa’s Cristoforo Colombo Airport is 105 km away. While planning your trip, check out Booking.com’s accommodation deals in La Spezia.
La Spezia is a great seaside city and a good base from which to explore the Ligurian coast. There are regular and easy transport options by sea and land to Cinque Terre and Portofino. It has every convenience and is not overwhelmed with tourists.
We stayed in La Spezia for three nights but could have stayed another if the weather was good. Big mistake not to wear swimwear when visiting Montorolla which has a FANTASTIC BIG beach. On a warm day, I’m confident it’s amazing and maybe packed. La Spezia itself has a close train station, Centrale, and a ferry port to visit Portovenere and the 5 Cinque Terres. We also trained up to Levanto which seems a lot more sleepy, but could have been the time of Italian break time at 4 pm. Between the two La Spezia seemed to have a better feel of activity with plenty of nice shops and restaurant variety.
Plenty of places to eat. Felt reasonably safe to walk around at night. Big market area. Nice walk along the port area. Cinque Terre ferry was worth the money in my opinion. It gave a different perspective and gave options as to where to disembark. Really good base for travelling to Cinque Terre towns each day by train.
Amazing place definitely go back for more The views of Cinque terre there are unique remind me of Capri ( Naples ) . Stunning . I had a great time . 😛😛😛Riomaggiore and Manarola my best places also Pontovenere and Lerici . We visited many restaurants I can’t remember names we stayed at the beach most of the time . Watched the sunset . We took a boat tour .
Very nice little city with a beautiful port. Different choices of restaurants very good and people very friendly. It is near Cinque Terre which is very convenient to visit the villages. The port is big and there is a variety of cultura activities.
La spezia has a very good connectivity with cinque terre villages by train. It has better market salons grossery shops, pharmacy, restaurants, Cafe etc. Thus its very convenient to stay in la spezia and take train to visit other touristic destinations.
Michi was a fantastic host. She offers a very clean space with a well equipped kitchen. No issues with parking. There are some cute bars and restaurants down the hill on the marina. I would suggest making reservations during these times. I love the balcony area. Perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or tea. I would recommend driving or taking a bus to the train station to get to Cinque Terre and surrounding areas. I had better luck finding parking at the La Spezia Migliarina station than the chaos of dealing with Central.
La Spezia
Patrizia was really helpful, offering good advice on how to make the best use of my time and a better route back to the property at night. I felt safe with the way she emphasised the importance of locking up properly. She was also very responsive when I told her there may be a leak in the shower room. I liked that the room used white light (a rarity in hotel rooms). La Spezia is also a pretty little place, and I would have loved to explore it for a couple more hours.
La Spezia
This is honestly the best hotel I satyed in Italy! For a reasonable price you get a high class room with more than everything you need (even with european type electric sockets :) what is a great problem in Italy). I would like to wish the owner to keep this level and reasonable prices! I mostly enjoyed the temperature in a room, the bathroom which was so clean and well-equiped and also I liked the bed with heavy warm blanket and very comfortable pillows.
I picked this hotel only for its proximity to the train station and affordability but was pleasantly surprised with much more! I stayed in a double room for my first few nights which was spacious and very clean. They even have smart tvs w/ Netflix! When I decided to stay another night, I switched to a single, which was smaller but still spacious and had a better shower! All the staff are very kind and helpful as well. I would definitely stay here again!
La Spezia
It is one of the best city hotel i've ever stayed. Mr Massimo is super kind and helpful. He contacted me before we reach Spezia, help us all the way, made good suggestions. It is a family hotel, everything is exactly like in photos. he thought everything even the mosquito protection. His wife is cleaning room like her own house. So i couldn't imagine a better hotel. If i come La Spezia again, definitely i will stay here again 😇🙏
La Spezia
Alida was a wonderfull host, very attentive and sincere and she gave us valuable recommendation for our trip to cinque terre. She served handmade breakfast in the rooms (even glutenfree if you give her a hint in time) like in a 5 star hotel and if you need anything, she tries to help. The room was lovely and very comfortable. We had a very good time in her BnB and we defenitely would come back :-)
The location is excellent, in the lower part of La Spezia closer to the waterfront. One block from the street with bus lines leading to the the train station and beaches outside town. Three blocks from the waterfront. Lots of restaurants, cafes and other amenities nearby. The hotel is managed by a couple who were very nice and provided helpful recommendations on local eateries and beaches.
La Spezia
Good alternative to a Hotel at this well maintained and generous apartment. Communication with host was easy and they provided us with keys, instructions and a lot of information about the area and options in La Spezia. The apartment is very nice and easy to feel comfortable. It is in a very central location in the town centre, so easy to find food and restaurants.
La Spezia
We had a lovely welcome from the owner. Our room was small, but very romatic and super clean. Amazing view from our room and from the hotel terrace. Nice italian breakfast with brioche, jam, butter and coffee. Highly recommend a car! We did tours to see cinque terre ( 15 min to La spezia main station), but the place would also be nice to go hiking! Great stay!
La Spezia
- the host is very(!) nice and you can stay in touch whenever needed. - the room is modern and the AC worked very well - we really liked that you get coupons for breakfast - you go to a café around the corner where you can choose something to eat and drink. - the location of the hotel is in a nice area of La Spezia.
La Spezia
Loved this place, what a find! The staff were so easy to work with, and it was a short 5 minute walk from the train station. The room was beautiful and our favorite during our 5-city tour of Italy. I only wish we'd stayed one more night! Might be silly, but it was the best hotel hair dryer we used.
La Spezia
Host is great! David will take care of you from the beginning to the end of your stay. Cool guy! Breakfast was awesome with even better view. Don't expect 5 star hotel but the vibes are so positive that you will enjoy every second of your stay.
