Hotel Nella has been in the family since 1921. Set on the green hills of the Ligurian countryside, it is 1.9 mi from La Spezia Train Station. The hotel is on the top of the hill, in an area with great vegetation. The hotel has a retro style inside that we have enjoyed. Very clean, the staff very friendly and great breakfast. Close to the hotel downside there is a nice local restaurant with tasty fish and seafood. The view over the city and the seaside is troumendous from here. Also at the restaurant we have enjoyed the nicest white wine ever called Vermentino. We hope to return here someday.

Le Ville Relais, The Poet Hotel, and CDH Hotel La Spezia are some of the popular hotels in La Spezia.
Many families visiting La Spezia loved staying at Le Ville Relais, AllegroItalia La Spezia, and Hotel Venezia.
In my opinion La Specia is just another Italian city (which doesn't mean it's bad, just nothing special). But it's a gate to wonderful Cinque Terre, which is definitely worth visiting (using a train from La Specia is highly recommended).
Outside of summer months which we presume would be very busy, there is plenty of room to move around all the areas where there are shops and sights. Plenty of eating and drinking options in the town. Nice churches and Fruit & vegetable market area. Port is not that far from the train station(15-20mins walk). There is a bric a brac market in the town on Friday mornings.
Had no idea La Spezia was as big as it is. It's a nice green city with lots of pedestrian streets. There are many bars and restaurants in the town. We enjoyed having our hotel there and then travelling to the five towns every day. The train station was close and the trains came often! Very easy to get around. I recommend buying train tickets online so that you don't have to wait in the long lines that form in the morning at the station. We also enjoyed exploring Porto Venere; if you have an extra day I recommend it!
La Spezia Is a pretty and clean city. It is a convenient place to stay if you want to tour Cinque Terre without climbing hundreds of steps. If you are older or have a mobility issue I would avoid doing a tour of Cinque Terre by train. Instead take the ferry from La Spezia.
La Spezia is a beautiful city to visit, but this can be done in half a day, for the city center and maybe go to the beach a bit. Most people come here to be able to visit Cinque Terre, which is amazing. Rent a red Vespa, it's a must, and go visit PortoVenere which is more beautiful that one of the Cinque Terre (won't say which one, you will discover for yourself)
Loved LA spezia, real city, loads of restaurants and shops easy access to Cinque terre by train and Lerici by bus. Most of all I found it a genuine and friendly town, not as pretty as the villages but far more choice in the evenings and a great base.
La Spezia
The hotel exceeded all expectations. The room was the nicest we've stayed in, in quite a while. We had just stayed for two weeks in six different facilities on the Amalfi coast, Sorrento ,Procida, and Naples and this facility was absolutely the nicest and most reasonable. The room was recently updated and the choices and finishes could not have been better. Wow!! Lastly, Alex the proprietor could not have been more helpful and courteous. His English was great which only added to our wonderful experience.
La Spezia
The rooms are very nice, modern and clean. Our room was very spacious with a big bathroom, comfortable beds and a very strong air conditioner (which was important during the hot summer). The location of the hotel is close to La Spezia Centrale where you can quickly take the train to the neighboring cities. Bars, markets and restaurants are all conveniently within short walk. The manager is very helpful with accommodation requests. Highly recommend this location.
It is a good hotel with parking space in La Spezia, where there is a good connection to Cinqueterre area. Hotel is located in industrial area. You can reach by bus train station (be careful marking on bus stops especially in train station area are confusing). Personnel tries to solve issues. Warm thanks to the gentleman from reception who helped me get out of the parking space without touching the other cars :O)
La Spezia
Situated in the heart of La Spezia the apartment is a great option for exploring the city. We choose it for the convenient price compared to the hotels but it resulted a much better option. Recently renovated the apartment is clean and well furnished. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby and if you do not prefer to go out from the windows of the living room you can enjoy the piazza.
La Spezia
The host is really friendly. He takes the time to make you comfortable and prepares a delicious breakfast, with some local specialities. The hotel is at a small, unpaved way, so it's really quiet. It's also quite close to La Spezia, and a perfect start for the Cinque Terre (free parkingplace at about 10 minutes by car).
Location is perfect for visiting La Spezia , just around the corner of the train station. Great hospitality and charming rooms in old British style. The breakfast was fenomenal with all local products. The bar and breakfast room was amazing, very modern and stylisch. Huge contrast of style with the hotel but it works!
The hotel was 2 mins walk to the bus stop from where we used to catch our bus to go to the villages in La Spezia. The rooms were cleaned every day much to our surprise because we thought due to covid, they might not do it. WiFi was smooth. Very nice breakfast. Nice parking space. Restaurants nearby for food.
La Spezia
Beautiful location, outside the city centre but in walking distance from the train station. Very diverse breakfast, better than in some hotels. Balcony with view on the city of La Spezia. Warm and enthusiastic host, gave good advice about visiting Cinque Terre and the most beautiful walking trails.
La Spezia
location very good. 10 minutes walking from la spezia station. room is like an hotel room. the bed is comfortable and the pressure of the shower is great. it has a small fridge and kettle with nescafe, sugar and biscuits. the view from the window is nice.

Very nice stay at this cute hotel, very central location, beautifully decorated rooms, good breakfast! The staff is super nice, Davide even came earlier to check us in. Great value for money, would stay here again if I'm ever back in La Spezia
the staff excelent, we arrive early because we want to go to Cinqueterre, the receptionist keep our luggage at the hotel and gave us directions to take the train, when we return they surprised us with a room upgrade
The hotel is situated directly at the center of La Spezia, and the central main station. Perfect spot to move from A to B ASAP. Cinque Terre is like 10 min by train, so what more do one person need:)
La Spezia
Hotel was in an excellent location, just a few minutes from train station. Maria and Luca were extremely helpful and friendly. Would stay again - but opt out of breakfast charge.
The apartment was large and had everything we needed. Definitely more amenities than a hotel room.
