Fantastic view, garden and very authentic and design feel
Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist.
Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist. It can best be explored on foot though you will need a car to go from Modica alta to the lower area of Modica. Modica has many churches and eateries as well as shops and the narrow streets are fascinating and always offering lovely surprises. It is a hilly town so not ideal for the elderly tourst to get around unless they get a taxi

Very nice city split in two parts, Modica alta(hill) and modica bassa(old town), long corso for nice promenade for shopping and eating, many old interesting buildings and monuments, turistic train running around the city, defintely 1-2 night to spend worth it.

Modica is a very interesting town.
Modica is a very interesting town. For older people the steps and steep roads and streets might be challenging. The green tourist “train” gave a good overview of the histoic centre of the old town. Modica is famous for its chocolate - tours need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

Modica is so unique.
Modica is so unique. Our first view of the steep hillside of buildings took our breath away. Our phones weren't helping us get there so we drove down from the alto section to the bottom through the town. That was amazing. Just looking up at different times of the day are worth the experience.

Unfortunately we visited Modica on a rainy day so our experience was dampened a little. It looked like it was full of historical interest and of course it's famous for its chocolate if you like their style of chocolate!
We found Ragusa Ibla more enjoyable.

Modica was the perfect Baroque city to locate in to explore the other cities and the beach. The location to bus station and train station was convenient to do daytime exploring. The city had a good mix of tourist stuff and regular people shops and restaurants.
Mostly I cooked in my apartment but I took day trips every day.
Probably the best place we have stayed out of all places we visited over the years. The ambience is so magical it takes you back in time. The view from the room is really the best looking directly to the church. The refurbishment was done with respect to the original place and the furniture l, linen, decoration are very authentic. Everything was spotless clean and the breakfast rich and tastefull.
Also special attribute to the host who helped us get back our forgotten jackets. We would go back to Sicily only to stay again at Dimora Birulla.
The staff here are absolutely wonderful and accommodating. We arrived here with two dogs, and needed to extend our stay, which they were able to arrange for us, at the same previous rate. We need a place to park our van for a few extra days and they allowed us to leave on their premiss. as new residents in Modica, they extended a warm welcome and invited us to come by anytime to use their pools. the grounds of this hotel is lovely, and well maintained. The pool is a delight!
Very charming old pallazo in the middle of Modica with an extraordinary view of town. The owner Antonio is a fabulous guy who will tell you all you need to know about Modica and Sicily - and have interesting conversations about life in general with you. He made us wonderful breakfast, too. As we were the only guests we got the largest room with the best view.
Very comfortable, nice and soundproof bedroom. Very good choice for breakfast. Excellent idea to have free water dispensers to reduce plastic bottles and finally having rechargeable soap dispensers to better preserve the environment. This is the first time we saw them since traveling around Sicily.
We absolutely loved our stay. The garden and room are really lovely and quiet, the neighborhood is our favorite in Modica, and the hosts are extremely generous and kind. Breakfast was full, delicious, made with love and responsive to our dietary restrictions. We would definitely come back here.
well equipped, comfortable apartment in the heart of the old city. lovely large patio. Free parking 300 meters away. the welcome from our host was exceptional, he took us a tour of the apartment, the area and the tourist office to introduce us to Modica.
Very quiet location.
Centrally located.
Air condition in bed and living room.
The apartment is well equipped and the standards are comparable to a good 3star hotel.
Very helpful, approachable and friendly owner. Easy communication with the landlord.
Everything was perfect, the hosts and staff were amazingly friendly, the room was perfect for the town and had stunning baroque features.
It was so good to be at the top of modica, so close but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle below!
Everything. Brand new. Very clean. The view is killing. Director and the the stuff lady so nice. Warm inside what is not normal for Sicily und winter ! Breakfast nice. And the roof top terrace. Room is like pictures like. Highly recommending!!
Everything was great! Quaint little house with a very Instagrammable terrace. Washing machine also a nice touch. Giovanni was super helpful with recommendations around Modica and one of the friendliest faces we've encountered so far in Sicily!
The view from the balcony was spectacular, showing the special hillside city of Modica. The breakfast was substantial with lots of good choices. Room was comfortable with a great balcony, table and chairs.
It's such a lovely accommodation. Enrico was very welcoming and helped us to carry the suitcase upstairs and gave us a lot of good recommendations for Modica. He's a very kind host. The shower is perfect!
The ambience is of a small hotel with nice personal attention to the guest. Breakfast was very good and we tried some Modica/ Sicilian typical delicacies like homemade latte di mandorla.
Staff is great and very informative. Breakfast is substantial and includes Modican hot chocolate and very good cappuccino etc. They clean the room according to your schedule.
