Featuring free WiFi and 2 terraces with views of the city, San Giorgio Hotel offers accommodations in Modica, a 1-minute walk from the Cathedral of San Giorgio. The property is 8.7 mi from Ragusa. I loved the themed rooms, the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff, and the amazing view of Modica.
Hotel Torre Del Sud is in the modern part of Modica, close to the historic center of town. The guest rooms features a number of modern amenities, including free Wi-Fi access. Very good choice of breakfast. Very spacious and clean rooms. Very helpful staff. Very safe parking in front of hotel or in a garage underneath the hotel.
Once belonging to noble consorts, this renovated 19th century residence is surrounded by many farmhouses and churches, giving you a tranquil and picturesque break. Welcoming farmhouse with a beautiful garden, a great swimming pool and a very warm host. Fantastic breakfast.
Modica Palace is set in extensive parkland in Modica's Sacro Cuore district. Set in southern Sicily, this property offers an outdoor pool and a terrace. This is a lovely hotel with a nice big pool. Breakfast is very good and varied. Reception staff are very helpful. Air condition and wi fi are very strong. Location is not center but close to many restaurants and shops.
FerroHotel features a unique and contemporary design; all based around train travel. Set in the picturesque town of Modica, it is a great base for exploring South-East Sicily. Hotel is in a unique location, next to the train station although there was no noise problem. The room actually had a nice, usable desk! Free parking in front of the hotel.
Le Magnolie Hotel is the first boutique hotel in the historical center of Modica, main city of southeast Sicily. Wonderful room with balcony and loved the dandelion frescoes ceiling! We really enjoyed the terrazzo views and aperitivo tables. The day and at night. The bathroom was very comfortable and loved the Ortigia bath products. Great staff!
Just off the main street of Corso Umberto I, Hotel Relais Modica is set in a historic building in the heart of Modica. The owner/manager of this hotel was very helpful and accommodating. The view from our room (#10) was breathtaking! Staying here felt like a truly authentic Italian experience. Take heed - there really are 88 steps to the entrance of the hotel, just as the hotel description states. Keep this in mind when considering luggage, strollers, etc.

Definitely fun to see the Chicolate Museum sculptures and map of Italy with highlighted sculptures representing iconic structures from key cities. A visit to Motycafe for chocolate tasting is a must do while in town!!
We loved Modica. Make sure you visit Cheisa Santa Maria Gesu. This is a very old monastery and the cloister is beautiful. Once used as a prison now being reclaimed to admire its former glory. There is one fresco remaining that is very interesting.
Modica is a great home base to tour the surrounding area. We also loved Noto, our favorite spot close by. Ragusa was also noteworthy. We saw Syracuse on the way to Tamorina. Syracuse is a large city but beautiful. We just toured the peninsula.
I enjoyed the staying at this hotel very much. The owners were very welcoming. The breakfast was the best during our entire stay in Sicily. A GPS is recommended as street signs are not permitted in historical sections in Sicily. Getting around was fine. If you enjoy a good walk as we did it took 15 minutes to walk down to Modica Bassa. There is a local bus that that takes you up and down the mountain. I recommend stopping for information at the tourist office which is located in front of the Baroque Train Tour. We took a Barouqe Train ride which did make a stop in Modica Alta to take pictures and to get off if you preferred not taking the rest of the tour. So, getting around is easy if you are aware of your options.
All the Baroque towns in Sicily have their strengths. Modica is a busy small town which has a lovely high street, right in the valley of the canyon, with some good restaurants and is more accessible, in my view, than Ragusa; a bit larger, if less obviously pretty perhaps, than Noto and Scicli. If you want to go sightseeing then be prepared to walk up and down many steps (there are about 300 from Alta Modica down to town, but fewer say up to the Duomo/cathedral), or drive, or pay for the tourist train - the Trenino - or a cab. (All the locals drive!) The local speciality is Modica chocolate, lots of tasting opportunities - we found the chocolatier by the Duomo to be good value - and he is a friendly man - compared to the best known companies on the high street. Around and about we enjoyed the drive over the countryside via Frigintini - where a lot of olive oil is made - and our trip to Cava D'Ispica to see the ruins.

Located in the countryside a 15-minute drive from Modica, this hotel has a central block and several external low-rise buildings, a huge parking lot, a separate restaurant and a big outdoor pool area. The pool itself consists of 3 different sections with different depths. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable, clean and stylish and we also had jacuzzi in our bathroom. Breakfast is good and it is served in the central block from 7.30 to 10am. At night the compound is very quiet and there's a lot of privacy.

This stay was perfect as we loved the location and the restaurants nearby. The accommodation topped it off. So clean and comfortable and Tina was a lovely host. Beds were fantastically comfortable and brilliant bathrooms. Parking was easily managed and Tina and her husband were a great help with this. We tried a new restaurant each night either in Modica Basso or Alta. Such a fabulous area to explore the Val di Noto from. Would love to return.

Lovely little house with an amazing view, super comfy and having all the necessary stuff (including an incredibly clean moka). Coffee, water and biscuits for breakfast. Great localization. And last but definitely not least, the host - Giorgio, who has a big knowledge of the history of Modica and is absolutely the nicest!

Great stuff and room in the annex. Booked less than one hour before arrival but room nicely heated on that cold day :) Offered to park car for me in the neighborhood (30m from hotel) for free, very convenient!

Excellent location above the tourist area of Modica - and easy walk down into the main area but it was very nice to be in a quite residential area for sleeping. The host was extremely pleasant and attentive.
